The rapper made the comments in a now deleted Instagram post.
50 Cent has an idea as to why ‘Empire’s’ second season ratings have dropped, blaming it on “too much gay stuff.” The rapper has been criticised after sharing a now deleted post on Instagram claiming that viewers were turning off from the show because of gay storylines.
50 Cent has shared his thoughts on why 'Empire’s' ratings have dropped.
According to The Huffington Post, 50 re-grammed another user on the photo sharing site, who had posted, ‘‘There are 3 million less viewers who tuned into last night’s Empire episode!!!! did you watch it? We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!!’’

The rapper has since deleted the post, but he later shared another which read, “Empire’s ratings took a huge hit. Okay I’ll stop now. Cookie call me baby. I’ll tell every body to watch the show for you.” That post has now also been removed.
Addressing the controversy, 50 went back to Instagram on Monday writing, “It must be a slow news week, they're gonna say 50 said Empire lost 3 million viewers because of to much gay s**t. He only said cookie call me, but the f**king kid is f**king up the show. Now every one is waiting for POWER,I told him to lay low. #EFFENVODKA #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO.”
A rep for the rapper has since told TMZ that Fiddy reposted the photo because it made fun at the show's decline in ratings, but he hadn’t read the part about the drop being due to "gay stuff” on the show. The rep added the comments were "not a reflection of his views at all.”

Cent’s dislike for ‘Empire’ comes from the fact that he producers a rival show called ‘Power’ on the premium cable network Starz. The rapper has previously referred to ‘Empire’ as being “some sh*t you get for free," while describing ‘Power’ as "worth paying for."
