Aaliyah's mother and brother, Diane and Rashad Haughton, have teamed up with bosses at perfume company Xyrena to release the first official fragrance.

A press release from Rashad reads, "It has been wonderful working with Xyrena to create an incredible fragrance that embodies the beauty, mystery, and creativity that my sister infused into every aspect of her life."

Aaliyah is currently available for pre-order and five per cent of the sales will be donated to The Aaliyah Memorial Fund.

She isn't the only dead singer to inspire a new beauty product - bosses at M.A.C. cosmetics are set to honour tragic Latin pop star Selena Quintanilla by launching a make-up line in her honour.

The singer, who was shot and killed by the president of her fan club in 1995, always dreamed of launching a make-up line, according to her sister Suzette.

M.A.C creative director James Gager says, "Selena's talent and beauty, inside and out, have left a colourful, meaningful impact in the world that has continued to grow over the last two decades. We have heard the passion and enthusiasm from her fans and wholeheartedly agree that her legacy embodies M.A.C's philosophy. We are so excited to announce a Selena-inspired M.A.C collection debuting in the latter part of 2016."
