Aaron Carter has shared with the world how much he wants to get back together with actress Hilary Duff, and has vowed to win her back. The 26 year-old singer has been pining for his former flame, just two months after Hilary split from her husband, Mike Comrie. Carter's public display began on Wednesday when he retweeted a photo of Duff that described her as "flawless."

He then wrote "Don't be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me..." before adding "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think." Carter didn't mentioned Duff by name but all hints seem to point towards his desire to reignite their romance and when a fan asked him if he was referring to his ex, he replied "Sure am."

The pop star is clearly overwhelmed by longing for the former Lizzie McGuire star and is making his intentions known now that she's single again. The pair dated between 2001 when they were 14 and 13 to 2003 after Hilary discovered that Aaron had cheated. They encountered conflict when it emerged that Carter was dating actress Lindsay Lohan at the same time, leading to a feud between Aaron's two lovers.

Duff is yet to comment on Carter's very public broadcast but she has been spending time with her ex, Comrie, leading some to believe their relationship isn't done and dusted just yet. Hilary and Mike seem to be spending time with each other for the sake of their nearly 2 year-old son, Luca. Being spotted out and about regularly with her estranged husband may be Hilary's way of saying that she's at least not ready to move on yet.

Aaron and Hilary's split may have been the love triangle scandal to rock the early noughties but the Gossip Girl actress got over the heartache pretty quickly. "We are both adults and whatever happened, happened when we were young," she told People in 2007. "It's over."
