Nocturnal Animals Trailer

For a short time, Edward and Susan had a happy marriage, they lived in a nice neighbourhood, Susan had a good career and Edward was not far from taking the bar. Susan lives a fast-paced life and as such barely sleeps and Edward would somewhat affectionately tell her that she's a 'nocturnal animal'.

25 years later, Susan has remarried a serial philanderer and her life is far from happy. Unexpectedly a manuscript arrives at her door titled 'Nocturnal Animals' and with the dedication to 'Susan'. She pushes the pages aside and decides to leave them but eventually she can't help but start to read the book that she inspired Edward to write.

The story that unfolds is an incredibly dark tale of murder and revenge and Susan is shocked and traumatised that she would play such a pivotal role in the creation of such a dark piece of work. Susan's interpretation and retelling of the story soon impacts on her life and is unsure how Edward's return into her life will turn out.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron - Extended Teaser Trailer

The Avengers may be feeling like they are capable of anything after saving New York City from Loki's rampage and returning the deadly Tesseract to its rightful place in Asgard, but the group have a new threat to overcome. As the group; Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Bruce Banner (Hulk), Thor, Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Clint Barton (Hawkeye); attempt to enjoy an usually civilised evening together, they are interrupted by Ultron - a backfired project of Stark who is dead set on destroying the human race and branding them puppets in his game. With S.H.I.EL.D. destroyed, their chances of saving the world once again are looking dangerously slim. Now beginning to question just how much power they have, they are forced to regroup for a mission that could finally see their end.

With controversy surrounding the Kick-Ass 1 and 2, is Kick-Ass 3 a good idea?

The Kick-Ass ultra-violence superhero series has been confused with controversy and praise, criticism and box office success since the release of its first film in 2010. Based on the comic book of the same name created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., the Kick-Ass series tells the story of an ordinary teenager, Dave Lizewski, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who sets out to become a real-life superhero called Kick-Ass.

While the government go about trying to pass off a series of catastrophic events as natural disasters, the US military are forced to take to Manhattan to rescue New York's ravaged city from a gargantuan menace intent on destroying the world. It is soon discovered that mankind's own irresponsible desire for weaponry and destruction has brought the threat upon them, after evidence of Nuclear chemicals are found around the Pacific. It becomes clear that these radioactive materials have had a genetic impact on the local wildlife, so when an enormous, malformed, reptilian monster dubbed Godzilla takes to the city, armed forces scarcely have a chance at defending their people. Does the human race have the strength and intelligence to survive their biggest threat yet? Or will their past mistakes bring about the apocalypse?

The brand new re-boot of the world's most iconic monster film 'Godzilla' serves as the second Hollywood version since it was first adapted by Roland Emmerich in 1998 from the 1954 Japanese film directed by Ishiro Honda. 'Godzilla' 2014 has been directed by Gareth Edwards ('Monsters', 'End Day') and written by Max Borenstein ('Seventh Son', 'Swordswallowers and Thin Men') and Dave Callaham ('The Expendables', 'Doom'), with an expected release date of May 16th 2014.

12 Years a Slave

The big news this week is the further escalation of awards-season fever. Steve McQueen's drama 12 Years a Slave continues to lead the field as the British Academy Film Awards announced its Bafta nominations this week - just as the movie opens in the UK. Meanwhile, Johnny Depp's new film Mortdecai finished shooting in London and moved to Los Angeles, where he was snapped on set surrounded by actresses in bikinis. Costars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor and Paul Bettany, have been joined in California by Aubrey Plaza, Oliver Platt and Jeff Goldblum. Godzilla - Teaser Trailer

US troops are sent in to Manhattan via HALO jumping to save the ravaged city from a monstrous threat that appears to have been caused by mankind's own reckless nature lust for destruction. Nuclear chemicals have caused significant radioactive damage to the genetics of some animals and wildlife, and New York finds itself under attack from an enormous, malformed, reptilian beast that the media subsequently dubs as Godzilla. The creature seems almost unstoppable as it easily wipes out the helplessly floundering human beings around it who never thought their scientific research could backfire so apocalyptically. Can it be stopped by human endeavour? And, more importantly, will it be a lesson learned for modern day human beings?

The world's most iconic and recognisable monster returns in 'Godzilla', the second Hollywood incarnation of the creature after Roland Emmerich's 1998 film and based on the 1954 Japanese film of the same name directed by Ishiro Honda. 'Godzilla' Reboot Trailer Offers Darker Take On The Giant Monster Sci-Fi

The new 'Godzilla' trailer has just been released and the king of the monsters is reintroduced as more powerful and frightening than ever before!

The trailer for the 2014 reboot of the hugely successful giant monster sci-fi film 'Godzilla' has finally been cast out to the waiting public this Tuesday (Dec 10th). The new instalment is a chilling point of view account that requires shadows, smoke and mirrors to slightly reveal the prevailing danger but doesn't take away the mystery element from the lingering beast.

The POV method utilized in previous films, such as 'Chronicles' and 'Cloverfield,' view the story though a handheld camera, but in 'Godzilla' it is through the very eyes of military man 'Lieutenant Ford' played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. In the new clip Johnson performs a HALO jump out of a plane straight into the heart of a city destroyed by the beast.

The dark 2014 sci-fi will star Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

The trailer for the 2014 remake of Godzilla has finally been released and yes, it does appear that they've gone for the Cloverfield technique of smoke, mirrors and swishing monster tails. However, instead of the shaky-cam civilian angle of the 2008 monster movie, it appears that Godzilla will be told largely through the eyes of the armed forces who are literally parachuted into the heart of the city smashing action.

Sixteen years after the release of the last attempt at a Godzilla movie in 1998, we'll be gifted with a brand new imagining of the classic Japanese pop culture icon. Though the last movie was considered a flop, it could be predicted that the new movie will fare better due to a push from 3D and IMAX ticket sales as well as a heavy current interest in sci-fi and action.

Following the departure of Charlie Hunnam, the producers of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie are frantically searching for a new Grey.

Charlie Hunnam is out! The actor sensationally left behind his role as Christian Grey in the upcoming FiftyShades of Grey movie adaptation following varied reports stating his schedule was too packed up already and that he had gotten cold feet over the immense pressure of the role. Now the race is one to find another Christian Grey and the shortlist of potential candidates seems to keep on growing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alexander Skarsgard is among the favorites to succeed Hunnam, with his steamy scenes in True Blood and his obvious sex appeal boding well with producers. THR have also reported that Oscar-nominated screenwriter Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal) has been brought in to adjust the script to accomodate another actor.

The 'Lincoln' actor has been chosen to portray the titular baddie in the upcoming sequel to the superhero ensemble film

After weeks of speculation, James Spader has emerged as the man to take on the part of Ultron in the upcoming sequel to 2012's massively successful The Avengers. The star of the NBC series The Blacklist and Steven Spielberg's Lincoln was chosen ahead of a host of other potential candidates to portray the super-powered, armoured, robotic super villain.

Marvel announced Spader's casting on Thursday (29 August), thus completing the list of main stars for the feature length film. Already, the film's two new additions have been cast, with Elizabeth Olsen signed on to portray the X Men hero Scarlet Witch, with Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson due to portray her brother, Quicksilver. Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow are all due to return, and even The Avengers villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) could appear in the film too.

James Spader has joined the cast of Marvel's Avengers. Spader will be playing the villain in the upcoming 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

James Spader has been cast as the villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel announced Spader will be playing the evil robot set against the Avengers team in the upcoming sequel of the superhero film. Spader is best known for his roles in such television series as Boston Legal, The Office and The Practice.

James Spader has been cast as Ultron the robot.

In Marvel lore, according to Entertainment Weekly, Ultron is a robot intent on acquiring power. His qualities include super-strength, mind control, genius intellect and a coma ray. Considering he has these qualities and happens to be a robot may make this a difficult role to play for Spader. It has not been announced if Spader will be providing the voice or playing the role with the help of motion capture.

The box office brings one surprise and several disappointments.

In a surprising turn of events, it was Lee Daniels’ The Butler and not Kick-Ass 2 that took the Friday box office. The historicald drama, which tracks the life of White House butler Cecil gaines through eight presidents’ terms, is also poised to take this weekend’s box office. Reports of the movie’s Friday earnings vary slightly, with The Hollywood Reporter placing them at $8.3 million, while according to the L.A. Times the movie took in around $9 million on the first night of the weekend.

Kick-Ass 2 Review

New writer-director Wadlow (Never Back Down) makes one severe misstep with this sequel to Matthew Vaughn's snappy 2010 Kick-Ass: he loses the irony. Now everything is played for goofy laughs and indulgent grisliness. There's no longer any subtext, nothing original in the structure or premise and a clear fear of being politically incorrect. Even so, it's an entertaining romp with a steady stream of funny gags.

After the craziness of the first film, Dave (Taylor-Johnson) has hung up his Kick-Ass costume and is trying to be a regular teen at school, but he's jealous of Mindy (Moretz) secretly carrying on her training as Hit Girl. So he asks her to team up and teach him some new tricks. But when her guardian (Chestnut) finds out, she promises to give up the violence and go back to school. Now Dave has to find a new partner, so he joins a lively team of underground heroes led by the gung-ho Captain Stars and Stripes (Carrey). But Dave's old nemesis Chris (Mintz-Plasse) still wants to avenge his father's death, so he abandons his dodgy heroic alter-ego Red Mist and instead becomes a supervillain called The Mother F**ker, with his own butler-assistant (Leguizamo) and a crew of minions.

Wadlow briskly leaps from one action set-piece to the next, and each scene has a witty sense of humour about it, even if the extreme violence is played for rather glamorised fun rather than the shock-value of the first film. Through everything, the dialog is packed with amusing lines that keep us laughing. And Mindy's parallel plot has its moments as well, throwing her in with the school's mean girls, who clearly don't know who they're messing with. Moretz plays Mindy so well that she makes everyone else feel scruffy and simplistic by comparison. Carrey's muscled meathead is a startlingly against-type role that strangely refuses to go anywhere. But Glen is rivetingly sharp in one key scene.

Dave and Mindy have been forced to abandon their Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl monikers following the defeat of ruthless crime boss Frank D'Amico and the death of Mindy's father Big Daddy. Dave goes back to his school life, while Mindy enrols alongside with him and struggles to fit in amongst her fellow female classmates. However, their 'normal lives' don't last when a new group of masked crime-fighters hit the streets led by the patriotic Colonel Stars and Stripes and they decide it's time to do what they think's right and join with them. It's just as well too, as D'Amico's vengeful son Red Mist has adopted a new alter-ego, The Motherf*****, and is attempting to rally an army of supervillains - with names like Black Death, Mother Russia and Genghis Carnage - to take Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl down.

Plenty of interesting things went down over the weekend at the San Diego Comic Con International, but whilst most of us were preoccupied with rumours and rumblings about future superhero adventures, outside the packed-out venue a real-life superhero act was taking place as a group of stuntmen rescued a woman from her 14th floor apartment.

Who Will Play 'Poldark' In The BBC's Reboot Of The 70s Period Drama?

BBC announces new series of the gritty drama based on the novels by Winston Graham.

'Poldark' is set to return to our screens in a brand new reboot almost four decades on from the first episode premiere of the original series.

The BBC costume drama was first aired in 1975, based on the series of books by Winston Graham. It follows the trials and tribulations of Army Officer Ross Poldark's love life as he returns to Cornwall to find that the love of his life, Elizabeth, is set to marry his cousin. Embittered and unable to move on from his stolen love, he marries a simple servant girl named Demelza as the rest of his once idyllic life crashed around him. Filming for the new series is set to begin later this year in Cornwall, though producers are still searching for the right candidate to play the coveted lead role. So far, suggestions as to who might land the part include 'Les Miserables' actor Eddie Redmayne, Matt Smith of 'Doctor Who', 'Kick-Ass' star Aaron Johnson, Jonas Armstrong from 'Robin Hood', 'Merlin''s Colin Morgan, Rob James Collier from 'Downton Abbey' and 'Warm Bodies' actor Nicholas Holt.

BBC1 controller Danny Cohen announced the reboot, which will be adapted by Debbie Horsfield, saying: 'It has been a joy and privilege to commission programmes for BBC One. I hope audiences enjoy the range and creative ambitions of these new dramas for the channel.'

After their previous caped capering defeating mob boss Frank D'Amico, things seem back to normal for Dave Lizewski and Mindy who have abandoned their respective Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl monikers in favour of a regular high-school life. Mindy struggles to fit in, however, and when Dave tells her of the new generation of crime-fighting, masked civilians, the offer to get back on the streets of New York seems too good to turn down. This new league of superheroes is led by the formidable Colonel Stars and Stripes who encourages his co-crusaders, above all else, to have fun. Though when news of Red Mist, the son of the now deceased D'Amico who now dubs himself The Motherf*****, rallying together an army of supervillains to take on Kick-Ass and his cohorts, things seem less than enjoyable for the teenage heroes.

New Kick-Ass 2 Trailer: Chloe Grace Moretz Just Owned Your Ass!

Kick Ass 2 looks to focus on Chloe Grace Moretz's Hit Girl character.

The new international trailer for Kick-Ass 2 has arrived, focusing on Chloe Grace Moretz's Hit-Girl character generally causing chaos and kicking some serious behind. Readers of the original comic-book will know that the sequel to Mark Millar's original caper is very much centered on Moretz's character, so expect plenty of the ultra-violent 15-year-old.

The new trailer also gives us a little more footage of Jim Carrey's Colonel Stars and Stripes, though nothing of Donald Faison's Doctor Gravity just yet. Carrey stole the original trailer with his "Yeah, there's a dog on your balls," line, though it's Hit-Girl who leads the cast in the new promo. It opens with her father having a serious discussion with her about her conduct, pleading with her to begin high-school as a regular, normal student.

The Croods is witty with sharp characters who are well written, voiced and drawn while Jack the Giant Slayer is smarter and funnier than we expect. We are also rather excited by a first look at Kick Ass 2 as well as a chilling new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness.

This week's big global release is the DreamWorks animated prehistoric comedy-adventure The Croods, led by an all-star vocal cast including Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds. Look for a huge push for must-have spin-off merchandise for this one, as it's packed with cuddly creatures. And hope it does well at the box office, because it would make a great franchise too.

Doing the publicity rounds this week, Gerard Butler has been out promoting his new White House thriller Olympus Has Fallen. Flitting between New York and Los Angeles to appear on every chat show possible, it's no wonder that he was somewhat fed-up by the time he reached David Letterman's Manhattan studio. Of course, the paparazzi caught it on camera as he lost his patience with a fan trying to get multiple autographs. But he manages to recovers his usual charm.

The trailer for 'Kick Ass 2' is finally here showcasing yet more hilarious superhero capers from Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.'s lovable comic duo Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl.

The first taste of the multiple award winning superhero comedy movie sequel has arrived with the exciting red band trailer. It opens with Chloe Grace Moretz displaying her usual feisty Hit-Girl attitude as she and Aaron Johnson's Kick-Ass show that they've done some serious training since the original movie in 2010. We also see the return of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, whose formidable Red Mist character has morphed into the supervillain The Motherf***** with revenge on his mind as goes about building a destructive army to avenge his father against Kick-Ass' new superhero team headed by the militant Colonel Stars and Stripes, unrecognisably played by Jim Carrey, and his masked pooch (no joke!).

Savages Review

Bad

Oliver Stone takes a stab at returning to a nastier, more edgy filmmaking style, but simply can't escape his moralising ways. Indeed, this film looks great, with whizzy camerawork and kinetic editing, and a willingness to travel to some very dark places. So it's even more annoying that it's all such a cop out. Not only are the plot and characters undermined by half-hearted preachiness, but the film has an appallingly trite voice-over narration plus a climactic plot point that feels like a cheat.

The story opens with a scene of domestic bliss, as sexy beach babe O (Lively) cuddles with her hunky ex-military boyfriend Chon (Kitsch) in their spectacular seaside home in Orange County. Then Ben (Taylor) arrives home - he's Chon's best friend and O's other boyfriend, a tree-hugging scientist who has created the perfect marijuana plant. They've made their fortune as local drug dealers, and now a Mexican cartel wants in on the action. They're visited by a goon (Bichir) who makes them an offer they can't refuse. So when they Chon and Ben say no, the cartel henchman Lado (Del Toro) kidnaps O to whip boys in line. But they go into action mode instead. Calling the shots is cartel boss Elena (Hayek). And there's also a Federal agent (Travolta) working everyone against each other.

The plot has promise, and the film starts well, with sun-drenched photography and some strong character-establishing scenes with Kitsch, Johnson and Lively. But once we learn each one's main trait (Chon's tough tenacity, Ben's peace-loving passion and O's annoying stupidity), the script abandons them completely. We never have a clue why Chon and Ben would fall for O, let alone risk their lives to rescue her. We never know why Lado is such a cold-hearted brute. And we can't understand how Travolta's character has survived this long. The only person we enjoy watching is the scene-chewing Hayek, who seems to be the only actor having any fun.

Anna Karenina Review

Excellent

Tolstoy's iconic novel may have been filmed several times, but you've never seen a version like this. Clever writer Tom Stoppard and visually whizzy director Joe Wright combine talents with this ambitious film, which sets all of the action in a theatre that expands and shifts into a variety of settings.
Yes, it's rather strange, but it's also drop-dead gorgeous.

Knightley reteams with Pride & Prejudice and Atonement director Wright to deliver another solid performance as Anna, an aristocrat in 1870s St Petersburg who is married to the achingly nice establishment gent Alexei (Law) but falls under the spell of the bland but sexy young heartbreaker Vronsky (Taylor-Johnson). And when she gets pregnant, she has to make a very difficult decision. The central theme is that these people are characters in a play dictated to them by their restrictive Russian society, so they have little choice but head toward tragedy.

Fortunately, there's a parallel plot about a wealthy farmer (Gleeson) who rejects so-called civilised society to stay in touch with the earth. He pursues the smart, young Kitty (Vikander), also entranced with Vronsky but beginning to become disgusted with so-called civilised culture. The film includes a rather huge number of characters, including Anna's womanising brother (Macfadyen) and his longsuffering wife (a particularly excellent Macdonald). And Wright and Stoppard effortlessly let everyone swirl around each other in a huge pool of emotion.

Although this pool often feels frozen over, as the feelings are pretty icy. So it's good to have open-hearted performances by Macdonald and Gleeson to hold our interest. Knightley is excellent, although we never understand why Anna does anything she does (which is the whole point). But perhaps the most impressive thing about this film is its astoundingly beautiful design: the sets, costumes, photography and music are sumptuous and lush, never fussy but always adding to the intensity of each scene. Look for it to deservedly hoover up Oscar nominations across the board.

Anna Karenina is the young wife of senior statesman Alexei Karenin. Theirs was more of a marriage of convenience rather than love and soon Anna's eyes begin to wander elsewhere as her desire for romance becomes ever more intense. She meets Count Vronsky, a handsome cavalry officer with whom she enters into a passionate adulterous affair. When people find out about their involvement, Anna's honour is crushed in the eyes of the Russian noble men and women and she is forced to make a choice; to leave her loveless marriage and family and lose all honour and dignity, or end her affair with her possessive lover and be potentially forgiven.

Savages Trailer

Best friends, volleyball partners and entrepreneurs Ben and Chon run a marijuana business on Laguna Beach in California together with their mutual girlfriend Ophelia. Ben takes nearly all of the violence out of the cannabis industry, however, ex-Navy SEAL and mercenary Chon is on hand whenever force is necessary. The tight-knit trio aim to work together to produce the best home-grown weed in the world. It doesn't take long for the ruthless Mexican Baja Cartel to discover them and request a business partnership. On the friends' refusal, the cold-blooded head of the Cartel Elena and her enforcer Lado kidnap Ophelia, knowing she is the friends' weakness, which causes Ben and Chon to wage war against the brutal gang. With the help of an unwilling dirty DEA agent, the friends are prepared to do absolutely anything to get their lover back.

Albert Nobbs Review

Based on a true story, this introspective film seems to suggest that these events aren't perhaps as extraordinary as they appear. But the strong premise is weakened by writing and direction that never get a grip on the story.

In 1898, Albert (Close) works at an upscale Dublin hotel, and no one suspects that he's actually a woman. Quietly going about his work while saving to open a tobacco shop, Albert is unassuming and relentlessly polite. Then he's asked to share his room with visiting painter Hubert (McTeer), who learns his secret and reveals one of his own: he's a woman too. But Hubert has managed to have a normal married life. This inspires Albert to pursue the hotel maid Helen (Wasikowska), which is complicated by her lusty relationship with handyman Joe (Johnson).

Kick-Ass Review

The team behind Stardust brings us the superhero movie we always wanted: brazen, raucous and without a single politically correct moment from start to finish. And yes, it's both wildly rude and great fun.

Dave (Johnson) is a shy New York teen who wonders why no one sticks up for each other. So he creates a secret alter-ego, Kick-Ass, and sets out to make a difference. Of course he gets beaten to a pulp. But he also catches the city's imagination. The problem is that gangster Frank (Strong) thinks he's to blame for a series of setbacks and helps his son (Mintz-Plasse) create a rival hero, Red Mist. But Frank's nemesis is actually a man (Cage) who has turned his 12-year-old daughter (Moretz) into a killing machine.
