Reports back in March this year indicated that 28 year old Thomas, who portrays Adam Barton in the long-running ITV soap, was thinking of quitting in order to pursue a TV presenting career, but he denied the reports at the time.

However, fans became suspicious this week after an Instagram post from the show said “Who’s going to miss Adam?” – and, on Thursday (June 22nd), it was revealed that Thomas will be departing ‘Emmerdale’ by the end of 2017.

Adam Thomas Denies Reports He's To Leave 'Emmerdale' After 8 Years

The Sun had suggested that Thomas was leaving by the end of 2017 to explore television presenting opportunities.

‘Emmerdale’ star Adam Thomas has responded to rumours that he’s set to leave the soap opera after eight years, telling fans “don’t believe everything you read”.

The 28 year old British actor took to Twitter early on Thursday morning (March 30th) to give fans some encouragement that he wouldn’t be leaving the ITV soap and taking his tongue-in-cheek humour with him.

The same morning, The Sun had reported that Thomas, who found success in ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ at the end of 2016, was set to depart his role as Adam Barton in ‘Emmerdale’ in order to pursue opportunities in television presenting, and that his character will be written out of the show by the end of 2017.
