Adriana Lima & Marko Jaric Split After 5 Years Of Marriage

Model Adriana Lima and her husband Marko Jaric have announced they are separating after five years of marriage.

Lima is best known as a model for Victoria's Secret whilst Jaric is an NBA Player. Lima began modelling for the lingerie company in 2000 and is now amongst the highest paid models in the world. Lima famously, as the LA Times reports, was a virgin until she married at 27. She stated, in a 2006 interview with GQ, that "sex is for after marriage" and that the men in her life had "to respect that this is my choice. If there's no respect, that means they don't want me."

Lima and Jaric began dating from 2007 and became engaged the following year. They eloped in 2009 and married in a private ceremony in Wyoming on Valentine's Day.

They have two daughters together, Valentina and Sienna, who are both under the age of five. The couple's representative confirmed the news of their split to People and a statement was issued which stated that, whilst the couple are separating, they are remaining supportive as parents. In the joint statement, the couple stated: "After long and careful consideration, we have decided to separate after five years of marriage. We are grateful to be the parents of two incredible young daughters that we will continue to co-parent. We would greatly appreciate your respect for our family's privacy as we begin this delicate next chapter for all members of our family."

Lima, in becoming single, joins her fellow model Miranda Kerr who separated from actor Orlando Bloom last year.
