Aidan Knight - Margaret Down
Canada five piece Aidan Knight (named after its singer) unveil a moving and subtly saddening video for their newest single 'Margaret Down'. The song will be featuring on their upcoming album 'Small Reveal' due for release on April 7 2014.
The video features a troubled woman in what appears to be a failing relationship repeatedly attempted to fell a large tree with a small axe. In the visual we see he swinging the axe until her hands bleed and later she appears to be in hospital as the song lyrics unfold into a tale about this woman's tragic demise. It's a simple composition of an uncomplicated acoustic guitar rhythm and a constant vocal melody that ingrains itself in the listener's mind. It may be simple, but it forces you to listen to words and be touched by its heart-wrenching story.
'Small Reveal' is the follow-up to Aidan Knight's debut album 'Veriscolor' which saw exceptional wide acclaim, and it sees the return of Jonathan Anderson in production. Having come off a tour of North America with James Vincent McMorrow, they are gearing up to hit the UK this year with a date confirmed at London's Sebright Arms on April 16th 2014.
