Alex Rodriguez has described ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz as a wonderful person and an ''amazing light''.

The baseball player's18-month romance with the actress ended last September but the New York Yankees star has no bad feelings towards the screen beauty and cherishes the time he spent with her.

In an interview on 'The Insider', Alex said: ''I don't like talking about my relationships, but what I will tell you about CD is that she's probably one of the greatest human beings I've ever met, and just an amazing light.''

The 36-year-old sportsman also hinted he doesn't plan to marry again and his new hero is Eternal bachelor George Clooney.

Alex was married to psychology graduate Cynthia Scurtis - with whom he has two daughters Natasha, seven, and Ella, four - but they divorced in 2008 and now he thinks he wants to live his life like serial dater George.

When quizzed on whether he'd walk down the aisle again, he said: ''I'm not sure. I think my new hero is George Clooney. He's my new role model. I think he's done it right.''

Alex is currently dating Torrie Wilson who wrestled in the WWE with George's latest Squeeze Stacy Keibler.
