Finally! Charlie Hunnam Addresses His '50 Shades' Role As Cast-Change Petition Reaches 75K Signatures

Charlie Hunnam Matt Bomer Alexis Bledel Dakota Johnson Sam Taylor-Wood E.L. James

If the prospects of having to get his kit off many times on screen as well as learn how to deftly wield whips and paddles may have flustered Charlie Hunnam, the actor who'll play Fifty Shades of Grey's Christian Grey, then the news that over 75,000 furious 50 Shades readers had taken their discontentment towards him playing the lead male role to Change.org to demand a casting reshuffle, should by rights make him feel practically terrified.

Charlie Hunnam
Charlie Hunnam Is Confident In His Acting Ability & Interaction With Dakota.

However, it seems that the 33 year-old English actor could not be more confident in his skills, and quite probably takes all the petitioning and hate tweeting as a challenge to be the best Grey possible. Describing his experience of the hotly anticipated adaptation of EL James' erotic trilogy so far as "exciting and fun and weird and compelling," there's little sense of fear or trepidation in Hunnam's words as he talks to Hollywood Life.

TheWhite Collar star has responded to calls that, despite casting decisions being firmed, he should play the character Christian Grey instead of Pacific Rim actor Charlie Hunnam.

"I'm so grateful for the fans and I'm touched," said Bomer, speaking via Entertainment Tonight. He added "I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota [Johnson]," perhaps in an attempt to calm the sea of rage that seems to be surrounding the casting of two relative unknowns in the adaptations of author EL James' erotic fiction series.

50 Shades Of Grey Movies Gets A Release Date: The Story So Far

Sam Taylor-Wood Mila Kunis Emma Watson Alexis Bledel Ian Somerhalder Stephen Amell Robert Pattinson Krysten Ritter

50 Shades Of Grey just became the biggest movie event of summer 2014 that isn't about super heroes, with Universal announcing their plans to have the film out by August 1 2014. The film will be quite the change from Guardians of the Galaxy, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X Men: Days of Future Past, but with a director, script and now a release date all lined up, the much-discussed movie adaption looks like it might finally happen after all. Still no work on who will be in it though, but that's just details.

So we know when the movie should be out, and providing director Sam Taylor-Johnson can keep things on track as soon as we get our Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, then things are looking good. Taylor-Johnson was chosen to take on directing duties earlier this month and her announcement behind the camera has obviously given the producers confidence enough to push forward and commit to a date for when we'll see it on screen. Relatively inexperienced as a director, Taylor-Johnson could prove a competent pick nonetheless having achieved praise for her only work so far; the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy.

America's Remake Of Gavin And Stacey, 'Us And Them' Previews Trailer

Alexis Bledel Jason Ritter James Corden

We’re already grimacing at the prospect of an American remake of The Inbetweeners, but us Brits should perhaps be more worried that the US is also making what is effectively a Stateside version of one of our most British of comedies, Gavin & Stacey.

The trailer for Us And Them has been revealed and we’re really not sure about it, even though it does star Alexis Bledel and Jason Ritter. Ok, so the American Office ended up being a surprise success, and we have to hand it to them for pulling it off, but an American Inbetweeners? Gavin & Stacey? They go too far. As usual it looks like the comedy is going to lose all its subtlety with everything glammed up somewhat in what in the UK was traditionally a pretty humble, sweet natured comedy even as it made stars of Matt Horne and James Corden.

No Pain, No Gain For Juno Temple In 'The Brass Teapot' (Trailer)

Juno Temple Michael Angarano Alexis Bledel

Juno Temple appears destined for stardom and her latest stepping stone to the top is 'The Brass Teapot,' a movie based on the comic book of the same name. A sort of indie-romance-fantasy-comedy, the movie follows the story of a married couple who are struggling financially to live in the big city. Of course, when this happens, there's really only thing to do: buy a teapot that magically fills with money every time you hurt yourself. Right?

Directed by Ramaa Mosley from a script by Tim Macy, The Brass Teapot see's John and Alice (Michael Angarano and Juno Temple) living a life of physical pain to enjoy huge luxuries. They start waxing, tattooing, hitting each other while all the while becoming richer and richer. Though initially insisting on stopping after reaching one million dollars, Alice (shock horror) finds herself unable to stop wanting more, putting herself and John in grave danger. It all appears pretty harmless and will no doubt appeal to a certain crowd, we're just not sure which yet. Nevertheless, Temple is an actress on the up and she's worth watching in anything at the moment.

One day they discover an antiques store on the side of the road and Alice is immediately enchanted by an old looking brass teapot. She discovers that every time one of them hurts themselves, the pot explodes with cash leading them to believe they've found the future they've been dreaming of at last. The pair start waxing, tattooing and beating themselves to their hearts' content as they become richer and richer by the hour, and while they initially insisted they would stop after reaching one million dollars, Alice finds herself unable to stop wanting more. They put themselves in grave danger as the teapot's history comes back to haunt them and their once perfect relationship is now being tested for the first time.

Mad Men Co-Stars Alexis Bledel And Vincent Kartheiser Announce Engagement

Alexis Bledel Vincent Kartheiser

Their affair in Mad Men might have not ended up amounting to much, but off-screen it looks like things are going strength to strength for co-stars Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser to the extent where it’s been confirmed that the two actors have been going out for some months and are engaged to be wed! How exciting!

Cue plenty of gushing quotes from sources apparently close to them, with the bulk of them talking to Us Weekly. With both of the actors also co-stars in Gilmore Girls, the pair clearly have history going back a long way, so it looks like a rather lovely case of good friends becoming partners, and one of the insiders close to them told Us Weekly “they couldn't be happier.” Aww

The source continued "Vincent proposed a few weeks ago. She's been wearing her ring. It's huge!" Another source meanwhile commented “They are so cute together!” of the soon-to-be married couple. The pair were revealed to be dating last June, by Us Weekly, with Kartheiser having previously been linked to actress Rachael Leigh Cook. Bledel, meanwhile, has dated co-stars before, namely Gilmour Girls Milo Ventimiglia, who she was with for more than three years. It will be the first marriage for both, with another source confirming "They are so cute together!" We’re sure they are.

Amber Tamblyn's Dress Steals The Day At Her Wedding To David Cross

Amber Tamblyn David Cross Questlove Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively America Ferrera Alexis Bledel Amy Poehler

Amber Tamblyn's dress was the real star of the show as the American actress and poet tied the knot with comedian and actor David Cross at a wonderful looking ceremony at the weekend. There was no press photography there, but who needs them when you've got DJ and music producer Questlove around to go snap-happy for you. The 41 year-old couldn't seem to help himself and on his Instagram, among other photos, there are a couple of glorious pictures of Tamblyn looking resplendent in a bright yellow, non-traditional dress.

In a classy looking location - pictures show Tamblyn stepping out of a boat with a lake and a lush-looking wood behind it - the couple were wedded with others in attendance including recently married Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (also snapped by the ever reliable Questlove), whilst E! Online reports that Tamblyn's other 'Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants' co-stars America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel were also there, as was Amy Poehler, who recently split from her husband Will Arnett. American rock band Yo La Tengo provided the music.

Questlove really got pretty close up to the bride and groom, with one very intimate shot showing the moment when the pair of them cut the cake. With a man like him around, the paparazzi should be looking over their shoulders.

The Conspirator Review

Good
Robert Redford revisits the Lincoln assassination with this earnest historical drama. Being a relatively obscure chapter of American history, the story is pretty fascinating, although the film is so parched that it rarely comes alive.

After the President is murdered in 1865, inexperienced lawyer Frederick (McAvoy) is assigned to defend Mary Surratt (Wright), who is charged with conspiracy alongside eight others. As a war hero from the North, Frederick is horrified to get this job, but is convinced by his boss (Wilkinson) that she at least deserves a fair trial. Of course, in the hysteria following the war and assassination, that's not likely. The judge (Meaney) clearly takes sides, the prosecutor (Huston) is relentlessly arrogant and the war secretary (Kline) has already decided on a verdict and sentence.

The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants Review

Good
Rising admirably above the bubble-gum genre norm, "TheSisterhood of the Traveling Pants" is a smart, charming, superblyacted summer-adventure matinee about four 17-year-old best friends separatedfor the first time but symbolically linked together by a pair of second-handjeans they share by mail.

Found to inexplicably fit each of them despite very differentbody types, the pants become a touchstone as they're sent from friend tofriend, giving each girl confidence, good luck or comfort from unexpectedhardship just when such encouragement is most needed.

Adapted from the first in a series of popular books byAnn Brashares, the movie has a foundation of coming-of-age cliches, butbuilds upon it beautifully with three-dimensional characters and honestangst, consternation and joy.

Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls") plays shy, beautiful, lanky Lena, whose vacation in a stereotypical Greek fishing village comescomplete with a hunky local (Michael Rady) who rides a Vespa. This is "Sisterhood's"least creative storyline (it even has a "Romeo and Juliet" bent),but Bledel digs for emotional truth and finds it.

Bride & Prejudice Review

Bad

If nothing else, "Bride and Prejudice" proves that the silly, ingenuous charm of Bollywood musicals becomes tedious andeven downright dumb in English.

A cross-cultural adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" set in modern-day Bombay, London and Los Angeles, thisis a trite, flimsy, groundless romance of shallow character stereotypes, ethnic hypocrisy, and horrible songs. But it does have one saving gracein talented, stunningly beautiful Indian superstar Aishwarya Rai.

As Lalita, the most independent and worldly of five sisterswhose largely traditional parents have begun trying to marry them off,Rai has a radiant screen presence as she stands in for Austen's heroineElizabeth Bennet. But she doesn't have much to work with except personalitycontradictions that betray a one-dimensional script -- and a suitor whois nothing short of insufferable, played by an actor without the chopsto reveal his unsuspected depth.
