Actress Alfre Woodard took to the streets of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Sunday (19SEP04) to urge African-Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential elections.

The OSCAR-nominated CROSS CREEK star compares life for African-Americans under President George W Bush's administration to 1965, when race riots raged across the US in many major cities.

She told a crowd of several hundred involved in the OUR VOTE, OUR FUTURE, MAKE IT COUNT rally at Sherman Park, "In your grandmama's name, bring someone with you" to the polls on 2 November (04).
