Poehler was supporting her pal as she promoted her latest book, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl: A Memoir, at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church when two female fans made the most of the surroundings and asked Brownstein to marry them.

The off request came during a question-and-answer session towards the end of the event.

Stunned Poehler turned to Brownstein, an ordained minister, and said, "You gotta do it", prompting the audience to applaud.

As luck would have it, Brownstein, who became an ordained minister so she could wed friends later this month (Nov15), had her credentials with her and agreed to marry her lesbian fans, Kendall Oshiro and Genevieve Hernandez, once the Q&A was over.

Poehler did her part by creating two flower bouquets made up of blooms from an arrangement crafted for the book event; she also played piano as the newlyweds kissed at the end of the impromptu ceremony.

A source tells Us Weekly, "The entire ceremony lasted just under 10 minutes."
