Food poisoning would be enough to end anyone's romantic holiday, but we have to hand it to Amy Schumer for not letting it get her down during her trip to Paris. Schumer was visiting the city of love with boyfriend Ben Hanisch when she was struck down with food poisoning on Monday and eventually hospitalised which, for the comedian, was the perfect time to make a hilarious video.

Amy and Ben seemed to be having a great time in the French capital, with the Trainwreck star sharing photos of the couple riding a helicopter and visiting Versailles. But on Monday Amy posted a pic of the pair lying in bed captioned, ‘Thanks for everything Paris! Except the food poisoning.’

Later Amy revealed that she had been hospitalised, but instead of crying about it she filmed a parody video for a dating website, which she shared on Instagram and captioned, ‘Pretty fired up to meet someone’.

"Hi. OK, this is my first time making one of these videos, but, you know, it's a new time," she began the video. "My name is Amy. I'm 35. I love just grabbing life by its horns and experiencing everything. I love music and food."

”I really just want someone to share all of that with. So, I'm taking a chance.” Coincidently, Schumer met her boyfriend Ben, a furniture designer from Chicago, when she briefly signed up to a dating app last year.

According to her memoir, The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, while there were no funny videos involved, Schumer did land her man with an unflattering profile pic. "In my main profile picture, I was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap with no makeup. It was a selfie and I made a gross face, looking as though I were dying, because I was hiking, so I was," she wrote.

"I also put up a picture of Sophia from The Golden Girls, Claire Danes making her cry face on Homeland, and one more normal photo where I was smiling and wearing a sweatshirt.” Schumer ‘liked’ Hanisch within 40 minutes of setting up the profile and soon the pair started messaging, before eventually agreeing to meet up in New York. They later went public with their romance in January of this year.
