The third season of her sketch series made its premiere earlier on Tuesday, and there’s even more good news for Amy Schumer. Comedy Central has renewed ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ for a fourth season, it has been confirmed.

Appearing as a guest on ‘Late Night with David Letterman’ on Monday evening, Schumer announced the news herself. Earlier on Tuesday, she confirmed that with The Hollywood Reporter. “I'm so happy to keep the ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ family together,” she said. “Excited and scared for everyone to see what we do next.”

‘Inside Amy Schumer’ took its bow at 10:30pm EDT on Tuesday on Comedy Central, and featured guest appearances for Amber Tamblyn, Amber Rose and Method Man. The renewal is another shot in the arm for female-led original programming by the network, who renewed ‘Broad City’ for a third season earlier this year.

It all certainly seems to be going Schumer’s way recently. In March, she hosted the 2015 MTV Movie Awards; ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ won a Peabody Award last week; and later this year she’ll be starring in her first big screen film as a top-line attraction, in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck. She was also named in Time’s annual list of the 100 most influential people.

Since 2013, Schumer has co-created, written for, executive produced and starred in the sketch series, which received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination at the end of last year.

Comedy Central also recently green lit a second season of the comedy ‘The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail’. In the context of such a disastrous time for new sitcoms for other networks, it means that Comedy Central has something of a golden touch.
