A-list stars may still be nursing their hangovers from the Golden Globes on Sunday night, (10Jan16) but Hollywood's players are already looking to the biggest prize of all, the Oscars.

The 88th Academy Awards nominations will take place on Thursday (14Jan16) at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills and it has been announced Lee, del Toro and Krasinski will help make the nominations an international affair, when they join Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs for the big reveal.

The nominees in all 24 categories will be announced during a two part-live news conference, beginning at 5.30am in Los Angeles.

Hellboy director del Toro and Brokeback Mountain moviemaker Lee will announce the nominees for Animated Feature Film, Cinematography, Costume Design, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject and Makeup and Hairstyling first.

Original Song, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing will also be revealed by the stars, and then, Boone Isaacs will be joined by Krasinski to unveil the nominations for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, as well as Directing, Film Editing, and Foreign Language Film, among other major categories.

The Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on 28 February (16).
