Fact: Harry Potter filmmaker David Yates has taken over from Ang Lee to direct new Tv drama series Tyrant. The Life of Pi Oscar-winner quit the Fx network project, about an American family pulled into a Middle Eastern conflict, last month (May13).

Fact: Moviemaker Ang Lee had two big reasons to party on Sunday (24Feb13) - his Best Director Oscar win came on the same night as the Chinese New Year's wrap-up celebrations. He explained, "It is the official closing of the Chinese New Year - we celebrate for two weeks. It's a great celebration. Fact: Director Ang Lee and producer James Schamus will be presented with the inaugural Freedom Of Expression award at the movie industry's ShoWest Convention in Las Vegas on 11 March (08) - for releasing LUST, CAUTION with the restrictive NC-17 rating in the U.S. last year (07). The pair refused to cut their film to secure an R rating; an NC-17 rating means nobody under the age of 17 is permitted into cinemas and potentially limits the film's box office success.
