Arise Dame Angelina! Jolie Rewarded With Honorary Title By Queen At Buckingham Palace
The actress was recognised for her work towards ending sexual violence in war zones.
Some might have already called Angelina Jolie Hollywood royalty, but now the actress has officially been made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II, during a visit to Buckingham Palace. As Jolie is an American the title, which is the female equivalent of a knighthood, is honorary meaning she cannot be addressed as Dame Angelina Jolie. Still, if Jolie wants she can refer to herself as the rather longwinded Angelina Jolie DCMG.

Dressed in a demure tailored lilac skirt and matching jacket, Jolie was presented to Queen Elizabeth in room 1844 at Buckingham Palace. The actress brought along new husband Brad Pitt for the occasion, as well as the couple’s six children,who all got to meet the monarch.
