Marvel Television Characters Were Considered For 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Joe Russo Anthony Russo

'Avengers: Infinity War' has clearly impressed the masses upon its cinematic release, bringing together the highest amount of characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe in any Marvel movie to-date. Seeing those who would usually clash come together in a bid to take down Thanos (Josh Brolin), the film is one of the most tense and chaotic affairs audiences have ever seen, and it seems to work on every level.

The ambitious picture is co-directed by the Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, who worked with a huge behind-the-scenes team to pull off the piece. While we see a lot going on in the film's final cut however, there were some ideas batted around that never came to fruition.

Captain America: Civil War Trailer

The Avengers are suffering from an image crisis. As much good that they do and as many lives that they save, the superheroes also cause unlimited amounts of damage to cities and civilisation. The government wish to find an answer to this problem and they decide that all superheroes should be registered and held accountable for their actions.

Tony Stark is brought in to begin talks on behalf of The Avengers, knowing how much damage he's personally done under his superhero disguise, Stark see the government's point and decides that a register wouldn't be entirely unwelcome. Captain America on the other hand has no such wishes; The Cap sees any government intervention as something beyond reasonable requirement. In the middle of all this is Cap's old friend Bucky who could be prosecuted under the new laws. As The Avengers are forced to split into two halves, it looks like there's going to be no way for the old team to form any kind of agreement.

As their opinions deepen and rivalries are deepens, certain members of Hydra begin to tighten their control and their plans for future domination of the world are getting stronger. The Avengers must find a way to put their differences aside in order to beat the real enemy.

Captain America: Civil War - First Look Trailer

As the world of Marvel super heroes become ever more entwined, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Ant-Man ends. As the Avengers take on more and more missions, the damage they cause is ever increasing and the government feel it's time to put an end to their unlimited power.

Captain America gains information so sensitive that he knows even his closest friends aren't going to believe it, Captain America and Falcon are alone. With The Avengers now broken into two sides, Captain America believing the superheroes shouldn't be regulated and Iron Man on the other, believing the government have a valid argument.

Can The Avengers overcome their differences and fight a new force that threatens to destroy the world as we know it. Captain America: Civil War sees many of our favourite Marvel character appear, these include: Black Widow, Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Black Panther & War Machine.

Russo Brothers Confirmed To Direct 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Joe Russo Anthony Russo Joss Whedon

Joe and Anthony Russo, the sibling directorial team who helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, have been confirmed to direct both parts of Disney-Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War.  The news has been the worst kept secret in Hollywood and the Russo's have been known to be in talks for months.

AvengersAvengers: Age of Ultron will be Joss Whedon's final movie in the Avengers franchise

The Russo's will take over from Joss Whedon, who directed The Avengers and the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, which opens on May 1. They now represent Marvel's most used directors, having been enlisted to make four movies for the studio. Whedon has only directed the two Avengers films while Jon Favreau took charge of two Iron Man movies. The Ohio-born brothers are among the most sought after directors on the planet and they're also attached to The Gray Man as well as a male-orientated Ghostbusters movie for Sony (probably with Channing Tatum in the lead).

"Takes the bold (for Marvel) step of reducing CGI spectacle to a relative minimum in favor of reviving the pleasures of hard-driving old-school action, surprising character development and intriguing suspense," said Todd McCarthy of the Hollywood Reporter.

Captain America: The Winter Solider Trailer

Steve Rogers has awoken after a deep sleep lasting 70 years following his fight with Nazi adversary the Red Skull during World War II. Things are a lot different now, however, which is more than enough for him to contend with, but when he is forcibly enlisted in the superhero group S.H.I.E.L.D. by the morally questionable Nick Fury, he soon finds himself in immediate danger once again. Unable to trust most of the people around him, he finds comfort in his S.H.I.E.L.D. cohorts, namely Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow and Sam Wilson AKA Falcon. Together, the group set out to tackle the world's latest threat, but when one member of S.H.I.E.L.D. is targeted and attacked in mysterious circumstances, they start to wonder if they are getting the whole picture. With assassins on Rogers' tail incessantly, he starts to uncover the planet's real menace in the form of the legendary Winter Soldier.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Trailer

Following events during World War II and his confrontation with Nazi adversary the Red Skull, Steve Rogers awoke 70 years later to find that the world had changed almost beyond recognition. He is now reluctantly a part of superhero law enforcers S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Nick Fury who more than once makes Steve question the ethics of the group and epitomises the blurred line between good guys and bad guys. There are people he can trust though, namely Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow; a fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. spy who embarks alongside him on a mission to tackle the latest global threat. However, when a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. is attacked, they find themselves in mysterious circumstances and start to wonder if someone's keeping something from them. As Rogers fights off a myriad of assassins, the real threat starts to surface in the form of the Winter Soldier.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' is the sequel to 2011's 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. Based on the Marvel comics by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, it has been directed by Primetime Emmy-winning brothers Anthony Russo, Joe Russo ('You, Me and Dupree', 'Community') with a screenplay by collaborative writing duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely ('Thor: The Dark World', 'The Chronicles of Narnia', 'Pain & Gain'). It is set to hit the UK on March 28th 2014.

Welcome To Collinwood Review

Excellent
Among the ever-impressive list of projects undertaken by Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney's Section Eight production group (Ocean's Eleven, this year's Insomnia), the ironically titled Welcome to Collinwood is one of the best. Anthony and Joe Russo's lovable crime comedy, which boasts a talented comic cast -- including Clooney himself, in a small but invaluable role -- is the finest debut by a creative team since the Wachowski brothers (The Matrix) made Bound.

Basing their premiere feature on the little-seen Italian comedy Big Deal on Madonna Street (1958), the writing, directing Russos set their film -- a finely tuned, brilliantly designed, screwball romp -- in the Ohio city of the title, which they've drawn as decrepit, to say the least. Collinwood is painted as low rent, low wage, and low class, where every sidewalk square is cracked and so are the people that walk on them.
