Filmmaker Antoine Fuqua has assured fans his highly-anticipated Tupac Shakur biopic is still on track as he is just waiting for the finished script.
The Training Day director announced the project in 2010 but was rumoured to have walked away following a series of delays.
He has now confirmed he is still working on the movie but insists the initial announcement was made prematurely before plans had been finalised.
Fuqua tells The Playlist blog, "It was announced too soon. I have a deal for Tupac, but the script is not there yet, and it's being worked on. Somehow someone started talking about it, it got out there and went crazy, but it was always a situation of 'let's make sure we have a great script, and get it right'."
