Arnold Schwarzenegger (30.7.1947)
Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Austrian-American actor and former Bodybuilder known for his iconic role as The Terminator and various other performances in action movies through the 1980s to the present day. He also served as the governor of California for two terms between 2003 and 2011.
Net Worth: According to Celebrity Net Worth in 2013, Arnold Schwarzenegger had a net worth of 300 million USD.
Childhood and Bodybuilding: Born to police chief Gustav Schwarzenegger and his wife Aureli in the town of Thal, Austria, Arnold was heavily interested in sports from an early age. After playing soccer for years, Arnold took up bodybuilding at the age of 14. The following year, he began to study phycology, and at the age of 17, he officially began his career in bodybuilding. In 1965, Schwarzenegger served a compulsory year in the Austrian army. Whilst serving, he left without permission to compete in a bodybuilding contest. For his desertion, Schwarzenegger was sentenced to a week in military prison. He won the contest, however, and thus the title of Junior Mr. Europe. Flying to London in 1966, Schwarzenegger too part in the Mr. Universe contest, and managed to come second. He continued his training in London and when the following contest came around in 1967, Arnold Schwarzenegger became the youngest winner of the Mr. Universe competition at the age of 20 and he would win the title three times after that. Schwarzenegger moved to the US in 1968 and in 1970 he won the Mr. Olympia competition in New York for the first of seven times.
Film Career: Schwarzenegger wanted to be a movie star from a young age. He even stated in various interviews that his entire career as a bodybuilder was entirely so that he would become noticed in order to get into films. He first on-screen role came in 1970's Hercules in New York. Due to his thick accent, the film was dubbed over before its release. His third film, 1976's Stay Hungry, earned him a Golden Globe for New Male Star of the Year. In 1977, his bodybuilding background helped him land the role in Pumping Iron - a film which subsequently reignited his film career. In 1982, Schwarzenegger achieved superstar status with his role in the film Conan the Barbarian. Two years later, he reprised his role and was also chosen to play The Terminator in James Cameron's film of the same name. His career was in full swing by this point, leading to starring roles in films like Commando (1985), Predator (1987), The Running Man (1987), Total Recall (1990), Kindergarten Cop (1990) and Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991). In 1990, he directed an episode of the television horror series Tales from the Crypt entitled The Switch. In 1992, he also directed the television movie Christmas in Connecticut. Schwarzenegger continued his film career until 2003 when he reprised his role of The Terminator for the third time, before retiring from acting to pursue a career in politics. In 2010, he appeared in fellow 80s action icon Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables as a brief cameo, yet this expanding part in the subsequent films has spearheaded his return to acting. Outside of The Expendables, The Last Stand marked the first film in his return to the movie world after a seven year absence.
Personal life: Arnold Schwarzenegger married Maria Shriver - niece of John F. Kennedy - on the 26th of April, 1986 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The couple had four children, and in 1997, Schwarzenegger unknowingly fathered a son with his housekeeper. As the child reached seven to eight years old, Schwarzenegger noticed the similarities between himself and the boy, leading him to discover that he was his son. After revealing this information to his wife, the two divorced in 2011.
The screen legend underwent major open-heart surgery at the end of last month.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has updated his fans as to his recovery from dramatic open-heart surgery, saying that he’s feeling “good” but “not great yet”.
The Austrian-born screen icon posted a short video message to his Twitter account on Thursday (April 12th), thanking followers for their support after it was revealed that he had undergone major heart surgery at the end of March.
The operation had simply been intended to replace a valve being used to correct a congenital heart defect, but it ended up needing open-heart surgery to address it.
The actor says James Cameron and Tim Miller have a "whole new movie".
Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most recognisable action film stars of all time, thanks in part due to his leading role in the 'Terminator' movies that have hit the big screen to-date. Though he wasn't a part of 'Terminator: Salvation' due to his political career and time serving as Governor of California, he's returning to the franchise for 'Terminator 6'.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will return to the 'Terminator' franchise
There, he'll reunite with director James Cameron as well as fellow star of the series Linda Hamilton, leaving fans excited to jump back into the world of 'Terminator' with some of the characters that helped make the series such a success in the first place.

NBC announced that the former Governor of California would be hiring and firing on 'Celebrity Apprentice' next year.
The network made the announcement via a statement on Monday (September 14th) that was reported by Deadline. “Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves,” it said. Arnie is expected to make his debut as the host when the series returns in early 2016.
68 year old Schwarzenegger is, of course, a former governor of California, in office from 2003 to 2011. His rather strange career arc has seen him go from athlete, to actor, to politician and back to actor again in his nearly fifty year time in the limelight. Presumably the catchphrase will have to change from “you’re fired” to “you’re terminated”!
The 'Terminator' star says it's the most human role he's ever had.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's first zombie movie 'Maggie' has almost arrived in the UK, and while we might be more than used to the living dead stalking our screens (both big and small), the star insists that this new movie is different in that it takes a much more 'human' approach to the apocalyptic disaster.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin star in 'Maggie'
Zombie movies like 'World War Z', '28 Days Later', 'Dawn Of The Dead' and indeed any others you can probably think of on the spot have a habit of focusing on the survivors. Viewers are gripped by the bloody and increasingly creative methods of walking dead destruction and no-one delves into the deeper fact that these 'creatures' were actually once very much human. Though when the protagonist is holding a shotgun to their head, it's the last thing you want to think about.

A group of male strippers and a Terminator weren’t enough to topple the mighty ‘Jurassic World’ at the box office this weekend.
Jurassic World continued its domination of the US box office this Fourth of July weekend, retaining the number one spot despite competition from Terminator: Genisys and Magic Mike XXL. But it wasn't just Jurassic World which managed to see off the two hot new releases, Pixar’s Inside Out also held its own, keeping the number two spot for a third week running.
There’s no stopping Jurassic World at the US box office.
Colin Trevorrow’s dino-epic used Independence Day weekend to surpass Avengers: Age of Ultron and enter the list of the top five highest-grossing films of all time, with a total of $1.385 billion. Now in it’s fourth week of release, the reboot of the Jurassic World franchise, which stars Chris Pratt, has so far taken $558.1 million in North America alone.
Schwarzenegger admits getting back to his 80s body took a lot of extra training.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a whole career on three words first uttered in 1984's The Terminator: "I'll be back." So it's hardly surprising that he's returned to his iconic signature role in this summer's Terminator Genisys.
Arnold Schwarzenegger felt young after getting into shape for 'Genisys'
"Well, I always said that I would do another Terminator if the story is great," he says. "We saw the original come out, and James Cameron outdid himself with the sequel. Since then, we've been trying to outdo that, not always successfully, but there is always the attempt. This time I think we've done an extraordinary job."

This declining franchise really needed a jolt to the head, but the producers disappointingly opt to play it safe with an unambitious script and child-friendly action. After the OK part 3 (2003's Rise of the Machines) and a weak part 4 (2009's Salvation), this film is unlikely to win new fans or keep the old ones hoping for more. Even though it's made to a high technical standard, the movie feels derivative and safe, avoiding any properly dangerous tension for a series of badly contrived action set-pieces.
It opens in 2029, as plucky rebel John Connor (Jason Clarke) is fighting the world-dominating Skynet machines with the help of his right-hand man Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney). When Skynet sends a Terminator (the young Arnold Schwarzenegger) back to 1984 Los Angeles to kill John's mother Sarah (Emilia Clarke), Kyle follows to rescue her. But he arrives to find the timeline already altered. Sarah had been attacked years earlier, rescued at age 9 and raised by an ageing Terminator she calls Pop (the present-day Arnie). Since everything has changed, Sarah and Kyle decide to jump forward to 2017 San Francisco so they can stop Skynet from taking over the planet with its Genisys operating system. But when they arrive, they realise that there's been even more jiggery-pokery in the timeline.
The way the film wraps in and around the 1984 original is clever, with added intrigue in the fact that Kyle and Sarah haven't yet fallen for each other and conceived John. So when he turns up in San Francisco, there are all sorts of mind-bending possibilities. Alas, the screenwriters can't be bothered to play with them. Instead they structure the film as a series of rambling expository conversations leading to yet another pointless flurry of explosive carnage. Honestly, if Terminators are literally indestructible, why bother trying to defeat them with guns? And yet everyone keeps shooting at them, just making them mad.

The new movie mixes old and new territory.
The eagerly awaited 'Terminator: Genisys' is finally imminent, and all fans of the original 1984 movie are likely to be happy with the results. Arnold Schwarzenegger opens up about how this new instalment combined elements of old and new to tell this alternative story.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is glad to be back
'Terminator: Genisys' is arguably one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. While initially it seemed like a sequel verging on the out-dated and maybe a little cringe-worthy, the authentic adherence to the first film (but with an unexpected twist) really seemed to get everyone excited. Here we see Kyle Reese transported into the past in a bid to protect Sarah Connor, but finds she's already being protected - by the double of the very adversary he was sent to fight.
The Terminator star tricked the public into believing he was a wax work, until telling them otherwise
Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a name for himself playing characters that everyday people might want to avoid but the actor took his ‘Don’t mess with persona’ one step further by playing a prank on unsuspecting tourists at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood.
Famed for his catchphrase "I'll Be Back" Arnie certainly did come back to life during his waxwork prank
The movie star took a detour to the museum’s make-up department and got dressed up as his most famous character, The Terminator, before posing as his own wax work.

"Come with me, if you want to live." - could there be any better line for a navigator app?
What if your navigation app had the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger? From early online reports it seems that Waze, an app owned by Google, might soon make this dream a reality. On Sunday, the company tweeted that it would announce a new celebrity voice for the app on Monday.
MacBook in hand, Arnold is clearly a techie.
The online sleuths at PhoneArena pegged the hand in the photo tweeted by Waze as belonging to Schwarzenegger. The main clue was that the hand was wearing the governor of California's ring.
