Terminator 2: Judgment Day Clips Trailer

Terminator 2: Judgment Day was one of the best movies of the 90's and even still holds its own on many movie best-of lists. The classic film has now been remastered and it will be released in 3D.

The movie follows on from the original Terminator movie (released in 1984) and follows the life of a teenage boy called John Connor. John has been placed in foster care since his mother is detained in a mental institute. John's mother, Sarah, has trained John since a young age to be ready for the day when he leads a resistance force against a powerful company called Skynet - this is a story John began to believe but as he got older and his mother was eventually arrested, came to distrust his mom's word. However, when John finds himself being chased by a cop with incredible speed and strength, John begins to realise that perhaps someone is trying to kill him after all. The cop turns out to be a polyalloy cyborg called T-1000 who's been sent to earth to track down John and kill him to stop him fulfilling his destiny.

To protect John, the future version of himself sent another cyborg back in time to protect him. This cyborg is a T-800 and isn't as capable of shapeshifting (like T-1000) but is programmed to go to any lengths to save the boy. In order for John to understand the stories his mother had always told him, he commands T-800 to help him break his mom out of the secure mental wing. Now the two humans and cyborg are put against the clock on a mission to stop Skynet from ever progressing while also being constantly chased by T-1000.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Cycles The Wrong Way Up Edinburgh Street

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons on a visit to the Scottish capital Edinburgh this week, as he was photographed cycling on the wrong side of the road, apparently forgetting he was in the United Kingdom.

The actor-turned-politician-turned-actor, 68, is on a brief tour of meet-and-greet sessions around Britain, and while in Edinburgh on Wednesday (January 20th) decided that he would do a spot of sightseeing. Initially, the Terminator amazed fans by taking selfies and chatting to them, describing the city as “beautiful” in a Twitter post, before setting off.

But he arrives in a very different world to what he expected. Sarah Connor is a well-trained killing machine, capable of defending herself. Reese was not the first person, or thing, to travel back in time to rescue her.

Uneventful Box Office Maintains Summer Momentum

Not much to report from the box office after this week – despite all its manpower, Expendables 3 just couldn’t outgun previous chart toppers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Guardians of the Galaxy and ended up fourth in a line of new releases and return champions. The Turtles continued their reign with a respectable $28,4 million on their second outing according to Rentrak (via The Huffington Post).

Check out the guns on that turtle.

Guardians trailed only slightly behind with $24,7 million. In a slight disappointment for Marvel, the superhero space opera lost its lead in just the second week to the CGI-heavy TMNT flick. Even so, on its third week, GotG has reached an impressive cume of $222 million for distributor Walt Disney. Coupled with TMNT’s earnings this should enough to restore some faith in the 2014 summer box office from studios. For comparison, August so far marks a 14% increase in profits since last year, which of course concerns the average moviegoer roughly 0%.

Sabotage's Arnold Schwarzenneger Says SWAT Teams Move Like Ballet Dancers

Arnold Schwarzenegger

At age 66, following two terms as California's governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back on the big screen and making up for lost time. And his new film Sabotage gives him an unusually dark character, albeit one who runs around shooting big guns and beating up people just like pretty much everyone else he's played. So was he looking for a more complexity in this role?

Arnold SchwarzeneggerArnold Schwarzenneger Is Back With 'Sabotage'

"I don't have a master plan," he said while in London to promote the film. "I think it has something to do with being at a certain age. Especially coming out of a government job, you see the world as complex as it really is. Therefore you start getting attracted to characters that are written as more three-dimensional. Maybe 20 years ago I wouldn't have been attracted to that very same script."

Arnold Schwarzenegger Offers One Lucky Soul Their Dream Day, For Charity

Arnold Schwarzenegger

The line “Wanna take a ride in my tank?” wouldn’t go over well coming from a regular human, but if there’s anyone who can make it work, it’s Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former Governator is auctioning off a ride in his M47 tank and anyone can enter. It’s pretty admirable of him – after achieving his lifelong dream of owning a tank, he is now sharing it with one lucky, presumably very wealthy, fan. Proceeds from the auction will go to the charity organisation After-School All-Stars, which plans after-school activities for disadvantaged children. It’s a win-win.

Arnold Schwazenegger, Brentwood
The Governator has his dream already. Now he's offering someone else the chance.

Never one to hog all the credit, he wrote in the description of the video: “This idea came from Reddit, so I want to give credit where credit is due. Specifically, it came from “ipeeinyourshower” who has better taste in video ideas for charity than usernames.”

Sylvester Stallone is in a nostalgic mood, thinking back to his younger days and, it would appear, lamenting them. He also hinted at a reprising his role as Rocky in the upcoming film, ‘Creed’. The legendary actor bore all when speaking to host Jonathan Ross during an on-stage interview at the London Palladium on Saturday.

'Gravity' Still Orbiting Top Spot At The US Box Office For Third Week Running

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Tom Hanks Chloe Moretz Benedict Cumberbatch Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone

It's been three weeks since it was released to the American public, but the sci-fi thriller Gravity has stayed strong and continued to dominate the US box office. The Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-starring film has continued to be a popular choice among cinema goers, helped largely by its word-of-mouth success and continued success in 3D and IMAX cinemas.

Gravity
Even Sandra Bullock can't believe Gravity's success

In what was a relatively lackluster weekend at the movies, Gravity added to its already impressive domestic gross with another $31 million (estimate) coming in from audiences since Friday (18 Oct.). The space-set Oscar contender did face some competition for the top spot, but its nearest rivals - horror remake Carrie and fellow Oscar-contender Captain Phillips - failed to do enough, leaving Gravity sitting pretty at the top of the US film chart. The estimated $31 million brought in over the weekend bring the total domestic gross to a whooping $170.6 million, a huge amount for a film that was predicted to only do modestly before its release three weeks ago.

'Gravity' Leads At The Box Office Once Again After Lackluster Weekend

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Tom Hanks Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone Chloe Moretz

Gravity needs no introduction anymore. The Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-starring sci-fi thriller has been written about and praised highly non-stop since it was released three weeks ago and on the top of this massive audience and critical success, the film has held strong for it's third consecutive weekend at the top of the box office. This weekend, it's estimated gross reflected a disappointing three days for the movie business, but with approximately $31 million coming in from audiences since Friday (18 Oct.), that number has been enough to keep the Alfonso Cuaron-directed film at the top for another week.

Gravity
Gravity still soars above the competition

There was some competition for the film, namely from newcomer Carrie and fellow Oscar-contender Captain Phillips, which finished the week in second place for a second consecutive week. Despite the best efforts from it's nearest competitors, and still benefitting from the revenue it receives from 3D and IMAX tickets, Gravity is sitting pretty at the top of the film chart once again. With a reported gross of $170.6 million domestically in just three weeks, the film is already the 10th highest grossing film of the year in the home market, and there is a good chance that the film will go on to climb up a few more places in the year's top ten before it's cinematic run is over. Take into consideration the fact that it hasn't been released in international markets yet, then Gravity could become one of the top grossing films of the year.

'Gravity' Still Soars Above Competition And Earns It's Third Weekend Atop The Box Office

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Chloe Moretz Benedict Cumberbatch Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone

Gravity is still America's most popular film at the cinemas, as the Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-starring sci-fi disaster movie has held strong for it's third consecutive weekend at the top of the box office. Despite some strong competition from newcomer Carrie and some other new titles from the week, the 3D and IMAX phenomenon is still performing strongly and sitting pretty at the top of the film chart.

Gravity
Gravity is still top at the box office

Gravity's weekend gross reflected a disappointing three days for the movie business, with only $31 million coming in from cinema-goers since Friday. Still, this has proved to be enough to keep it's nearest competitor at bay and enjoy yet more success. Providing Carrie or Captain Phillips don't have an overwhelming and unprecedented night of success this evening (20 October), then Gravity will quite easily continue to dominate the US box office.

Stallone And Schwarzenegger Split The Critics In New Action Film 'Escape Plan'- Review Roundup

'Escape Plan' stars the two biggest action movie actors from the last 30 years, but is it just too late to deliver a classic macho-man tale that the two aging icons were so successful with during their younger days?

The action movie depicts Stallone as a security expert escapist called 'Ray Breslin', whose career is to test prisons around the country (USA) discovering if they are escapable, he trials the weak security systems by going undercover as an inmate.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: The 'Avatar 2' Antagonist?

Arnold Schwarzenegger James Cameron

If the latest rumors are to be believed, then good ol’ Arnie Schwarzenegger will be making it four films with James Cameron, as he might be joining the Avatar 2 cast in the role of ‘bad guy’. This is, of course, according to the Latino Review, who so often gets this stuff spot on. If it’s true, then it’s goes under the file: huge movie news.

Cameron steered Arnie to Hollywood notoriety with Terminator 1, Terminator 2, and True Lies, and a reunion with the irrepressible Austrian would represent a major boon. According to the Review, “Arnold’s film career post politics has been straight up bumjuice,” so an entry into the Avatar franchise would be most welcome.

“Movie-wise, he’s tied up with his next two movies, but hopefully, there’s something down the line when he’s finished with that,” Schwarzenegger told the MTV Movies Blog earlier this year. “I always look forward to working with him because Cameron is a very talented director."

Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone

Who would have thought that in 2013 the two biggest action movie names would still be Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger? With the veterans of the big screen still putting out new movies that are generally well-received by audiences, the legends of the action genre are joining forces to co-star next to each other for the first time (bar The Expendables movies, in which Arnie was arguably a feature rather than a star) to date in the new movie Escape Plan.

As we can tell from the trailer, Stallone is the main character of the film, but it is Arnold who looks like the real star here. Stallone plays Ray Breslin, a master prison escape artist and a man with a vast array of survival skills that he has developed to make him nearly incarceration-proof. When he is framed and thrown behind bars in the escape-proof prison he designed himself, he must escape (with the help of the prison's most authoritative inmate - Schwarzenegger) and find the person who set him up.

The James Cameron films follow, for anyone who hasn't visited earth anytime in the last 30 years, the adventures of John Connor. Initially only a glint in his father's eye, Connor is pursued by an assortment of robot assassins from the future. The first robot was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger who has appeared, some form or the other, in every Terminator film since.

It's likely he will make an appearance in the forthcoming film. His likeness was featured in special effects form in the last film, Terminator Salvation, starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington. Schwarzenegger has much bigger things going on at the time: bizarrely being the Republican Governor of California. His term ended in 2011 so he is now free from public duties, should he wish to be involved.

The fate of the upcoming Terminator movie (fifth in the franchise) has been largely uncertain for the past year or so. Following the success of 2009’s Terminator: Salvation, a fifth installment was known to be in the works for a long time, even having a director attached at one point – Justin Lin, who is no longer directing it. Then the news ceased for a while, prompting questions of whether it was getting made at all. However, with the involvement of Paramount – the studio has partnered up with David Ellison's Skydance Pictures and Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures, it looks like production has finally been kicked into gear, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Arnold Brazil Classic
Schwazenegger is going at it again.

So much so, in fact, that Paramount have actually announced a release date for the film – June 26 2015. This is an ambitious endeavour, considering the slew of movies also slated for a summer 2015 release – from the recently confirmed Independence Day 2, to Marvel’s Avengers 2, which we’ve known would be happening for a while now. With Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, Star Wars: Episode VII, Assassin's Creed, Finding Dory and more coming out within that timeframe, calling it the summer of the sequels would be an understatement.

Terminator 5 Is Happening, With Arnie, So You Better Sit There And Enjoy It

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Do we need more Terminator movies? What a silly question, you can never have too many Terminator movies. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Paramount Pictures (the franchise’s new home) obviously share this sentiment, as the actor confirmed just yesterday that he has indeed signed on to do the fifth installment. "I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in 'Terminator 5' and to star as the Terminator," he said for fansite thearnoldfans.com. “We start shooting in January and I'm also going to do 'King Conan’. To play that role and also to do another 'Twins' movie. I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I'm looking forward to doing those films."

In the same interview Schwarzenegger also confirmed that he will not be playing a human character in T5 – thank goodness for that. This staff writer, for one, much prefers Arnie as the cold, calculating and indestructible cyborg he was born to play. Yes, ok, there might be the teeny tiny chance that the franchise has exhausted its potential, that the visibly older actor won’t be as believable playing T1 anymore, that the two previous sequels have completely exhausted any and all potential this franchise ever had and that the whole endeavor would have been best left to die in the 90s. To which we say Lies And Slander.

Bring on the post-Apocalyptic destruction machines and overly CGI-ed Arnold Schwartzenegger. Another! So fans of the former Governator should consider themselves very lucky – not only will we get to witness him do his thing in three upcoming movies, but he will also be reprising two of - if not the - his most iconic characters he’s done. Finally, we can all rest easy on the knowledge that Schwarzenegger was, is and forever will be the Terminator. He did say he would be back, didn’t he?

Sylvester Stallone Announces Expendables 3 And Great Escape 2 (Sort Of)

Sylvester Stallone Arnold Schwarzenegger Dolph Lundgren Jason Statham Mikael Hafstrom Joseph Gordon-Levitt Jackie Chan Nicolas Cage Jet Li Chuck Norris Terry Crews

It's shaping up to be a pretty hectic 18 months or so for Sylvester Stallone, who will star in two big-budget movies for Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment, Escape Plan and The Expendables 3. The former stars Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger as prison cellmates who work together to escape. The Great Escape, essentially.

The movie, directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom, is written by Miles Chapman and Jason Keller, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It will go up against Joseph Gordon-Lecitt's directorial debut Don Jon and fantasy movie Seventh Son on October 18, 2013. The Expendables action adventure franchise continues on August 15, 2014 with the third movie, once again starring Stallone as Barney Ross, who leads his group of mercenaries into another seemingly impossible mission. Martial arts legend Jackie Chan and Oscar winner Nicolas Cage are set to be appear in the movie, which will undoubtedly continue to the huge success of the franchise. As yet, the other major studios have not announced any movies for release on the same date.

The Expendables 2, starring Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris and Terry Crews, opened on August 16, 2012 to takings of $28.6 million. The movie has since earned $300 million worldwide.

Toxic Avenger Remake To Star Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger

80s cult B-movie 'The Toxic Avenger' is set for a reboot, but not just any reboot. Rumors suggest everyone’s favorite Austrian action-hero-cum-politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger is to be handed a starring role.

Toxic Avenger was a seriously niche film; it followed the trials and tribulations of Melvin Ferd III, a diminutive janitor who lacks the respect of his peers. One day, while being chased by bullies, he lands himself in a vat of toxic waste, and you can pretty much piece together the rest of the film following the Spiderman template

Arnold SchwarzeneggerOkay then. Here's Arnie handing a massive cup to a muscle-man

Patrick Schwarzenegger Says Sorry For Ice Cold Behavior At Nightclub

Patrick Schwarzenegger Arnold Schwarzenegger

Shouting at the DJ and throwing ice cubes at him is a sure-fire way to get kicked out of a club. Doing that as the child of a major Hollywood star is a brilliant way to get labelled a brat, and that’s exactly what Patrick Schwarzenegger did.

And now comes the apology, this time administered via Twitter. "Excuse my language. I apologise," he posted, followed by: "Live and learn, hope everyone has a blessed day". The aspiring actor, a freshman, wasn’t supposed to be in the club anyway, as he’s underage. It took him lobbing cubes of ice at one of the employees to get their attention and get himself noticed, and subsequently kicked out. "I'm gonna beat the f--k out of the DJ," he said repeatedly. "He kicks everybody out of his table, losing money for the club, losing money for the owner," said a source to TMZ. "[DJ Valadez] told him nicely a few times to please be careful because he kept bumping into [his equipment]," added a source to US Weekly. "I guess Patrick became annoyed so he started throwing ice at him. At this point one of the cocktail waitresses noticed it was Patrick Schwarzenegger and alerted the team who he was and that he was underage."

We’d hate to come home to Arnie after being caught doing that publically. Talk about a scary dad! Although the Austrian beefcake is probably too busy with his political prepositions to give a damn about his son’s recent misdemeanour.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Son Says He's Sorry For Drunken Outburst, Kind Of

Patrick Schwarzenegger Arnold Schwarzenegger

Patrick Schwarzenegger left Arnold and Maria red faced this weekend when he got booted from The Sayers Club in L.A. after threatening to "beat the f**k out of the DJ". The son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver has since apologised for his outburst on Twitter, kind of.

Celebrity lurkers TMZ were luckily enough to be filming outside the club when Pat was kicked out and proceeded to film him as he went on a foul-mouthed rant to anyone who would listen about how much the DJ sucked. "I'm gonna go beat the f**k out of the DJ," he ranted and raved to friends, telling other bystanders, "Everyone around me wants to beat the f**k out of the DJ... I'll beat the f**k out of him."

Schwarzenegger Son Kicked Out – Arnie’s Boy Ousted From Hollywood Club

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son kicked out of The Sayers Club For Threatening to Beat Up DJ, that’s the news, deal with it. He was at Hollywood's famous hangout, but was forced to leave following an apparent argument with the club's Dick Jockey.

"I'm gonna beat the f--k out of the DJ," the angry freshman said repeatedly to his pals, according to TMZ. "He kicks everybody out of his table, losing money for the club, losing money for the owner." A source explained to US Weekly what happened. "[Valadez] told him nicely a few times to please be careful because he kept bumping into it," the source explains. "I guess Patrick became annoyed so he started throwing ice at him. At this point one of the cocktail waitresses noticed it was Patrick Schwarzenegger and alerted the team who he was and that he was underage." Arnie is yet to comment on what happened, but we’d love to see the father son chat after this episode, if it’s true that is.

The Austrian beefcake has been imploring people to get out there and exercise their democratic rights. "Hope y'all go out and vote," he tweeted. "Getting the 'I Voted' sticker is worth it alone to go." He also said: "Can we all admit that the electoral college system is a joke and it should be banished? This system doesn't make sense to me," adding: "Let's all work together to get out of this economic slump and bring our national debt where it should be!"

Still After Maria Shriver Reconciliation? Arnold Schwarzenegger Spotted With Younger Woman On Dinner Date

Arnold Schwarzenegger

A word of advice for Arnold Schwarzenegger: If you really want a reconciliation with your former wife Maria Shriver, you probably don’t want to get caught sharing a dinner date with a pretty blonde physical therapist, 27 years younger than you. That would not be an advisable step towards reconciliation.

The Terminator star was spotted with 38 year-old Heather Milligan, as they enjoyed dinner together at Santa Monica’s Babalu restaurant last Friday (February 22, 2013). A photographer managed to get a shot of the couple gazing happily out of the restaurant windows and also caught them out driving around Brentwood the next day. They were reportedly laughing and smiling together throughout the meal, before leaving in Arnie’s car. Milligan is a physical therapist, with a number of high profile NFL stars on her books, including New York Giants’ Ramses Barden. New York Daily News tried to contact Millgan to quiz her about her relationship with Arnie but staff at her practice said she wasn’t going to talk. “She’s not going to make herself available,” reporters were told. She also deleted a birthday tweet that she’d sent to Arnie, which read “Happy birthday to @Schwarzenegger !! Headed to the gym to shock the system and get more than 1% in…”

In January 2013, Schwarzenegger reportedly told a German magazine that he still loved his former wife Maria Shriver and hoped for a reconciliation. Shriver filed for divorce in 2011, after learning that Arnie had fathered a secret child with the family’s housekeeper.

Stallone Reveals He Has A Tattoo Mural To Cover Injuries

Sylvester Stallone Arnold Schwarzenegger

Action movie superstar, Sylvester Stallone, has covered up an unsightly burst vein with a tattoo of his wife. In the film 'Bullet to the Head', Stallone is seen sporting huge tattoos across his back and both shoulders, but instead of being painted on for the role, the actor has revealed that they are, in fact, his own tattoos.

''The tattoos are real - unfortunately," Stallone explained, "I have all kinds of chest injuries; I tore my vein during 'Rocky II' and had 60 stitches. If you've seen 'Rocky Balboa', you'll know how bad they look. It got worse and worse, and people were saying, 'Urgh, has he got varicose veins?' So I thought, 'f**k it', and covered them with a tattoo of my wife."

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Next Film Donate Thousands To Charity To Say Thanks For Filming Rights

Arnold Schwarzenegger Sam Worthington Joe Manganiello Terrence Howard

Whilst currently promoting his new film, The Last Stand, Arnold Schwarzenegger is already planning his next move by gaining permission to shoot his next film at the home of Mike Briggs, President-Elect for Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc.

Briggs gave Arnie and the rest of the film crew for the upcoming movie Ten permission to film scenes at his scenic home, but only on one condition: that the production team pledge all of the rental fees Briggs would be receiving for donating his land to his charity, FIRST. True to the agreement, earlier this week the offices of FIRST received a $35,000 cheque and a big thank you from Arnie and the rest of the film's team.

“I told them they were free to film at my home, as long as they agreed to donate all of the rental fees associated with the use of my property to FIRST,” said Briggs, was made president of FIRST this month, adding,  “When the producers heard that, they decided to make the donation larger and have donated $35,000 to the Foundation. Will The Last Stand Be Arnold Schwarzenegger's Last Stand?

Arnold Schwarzenegger Johnny Knoxville

Arnold Schwarzenegger came true on his promise of 'I'll be back', after he took a break from movies to 'save California from crisis' taking the role of Governor. But is this a triumphant return for the action movie stalwart? Or is the film's title just right.

It would appear as though Arnie hasn't wowed the critics with his latest project, alongside perennial Jackass Johnny Knoxville. It's not the worst film he's ever done, or indeed the silliest, but it certainly won't be remembered as the vindication of one of his most famous catchphrases.

Peter Bradshaw - often regarded as a film snob, although he endorses plenty of mainstream films - speaks positively of the film, but moves towards praise for the director, Kim Jee-woon rather than Arnie. "Korean film-maker Kim Jee-woon gives it plenty of directorial welly, and it's good to see a film with cop cars flying through the air," he writes in his 3/5 review.

Governors Salary "$187,000 A Year And It Was Petty Cash"

Arnold Schwarzenegger

It's clear now that action movie hero Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't go into politics for the money, rather the honour of it. The former Governor of California has revealed that the job's pay-packet was derisory, and he just gave it back, STV report.

"I made this always very clear from the beginning, when I got into the governorship, that I'm not trying to become a career politician," he said. "I mean I just thought that California was in a crisis and I felt that since California and America has given me everything... that I should take seven years out of my life and be a public servant and serve the people of California regardless of the lack of pay," he continued, before labelling the wage as "petty cash". "I gave the money back as a matter of fact, because it was like $187,000 a year," he said, "and it was petty cash, I mean, for me. So I said 'give it back to the state' and I wanted to do it for free, I didn't want any money because it was an honour for me to do the job."

Arnie has some pretty funny view on money, He's been quoted by The Guardian as having said: "Money doesn't make you happy. I now have $50m, but I was just as happy when I had $48m."

The Last Stand Review

OK

Korean filmmaker Kim played with the Western genre before in his wacky 2008 pastiche The Good the Bad the Weird, and this film is just as chaotically uneven, mixing cartoon-style silliness with grisly violence. But the high-energy approach holds our interest, as does Schwarzenegger's immense screen presence in his first starring role since his political career. The film is far too jumbled to hold together, but its sardonic sense of humour makes it a decent guilty pleasure.

Arnie plays Sheriff Owens, who has a quiet routine in his sleepy Arizona-Mexico border town. So when a stranger (Stormare) appears, he sends his deputies (Alexander and Gilford) to investigate. Things get violent quickly, so he deputises a drunken veteran (Santoro) and a moronic gun-nut (Knoxville) to work alongside another deputy (Guzman). What he doesn't yet know is that the baddies are part of an elaborate plan to help a drug kingpin (Noriega) escape from a Law Vegas FBI Agent (Whitaker) and cross the border to freedom in Mexico.

The whizzy plot actually has promise as a straightforward action movie, but Kim throws so much nuttiness at the screen that we can't take anything seriously. The story zings from set-piece to set-piece without much concern for credibility or coherence. It's all very cool, especially the baddie's glimmering, super-fast prototype Corvette, which travels "faster than a chopper" on isolated country roads that are improbably smooth. And his climactic plan to get over the border is astonishingly silly, but played dead straight.

At The Movies: The Last Stand Review Round Up

Arnold Schwarzenegger

In The Last Stand, Arnold Schwarzenegger at least comes true on his promise: "I'll be back," but does his return from the world of politics to the silver screen do justice to 'the man with the catchphrases'?

Unfortunately, compared to some of Arnie's classics, it doesn't. While some reviews praise the all-out silliness of it (what else would you expect from a film starring a 65-year old Schwarzenegger) the majority of opinions are negative for Jee-woon Kim's action flick. "The result is diverting enough for a low-expectations Friday night, but the ingredients were in place for something more," say Time Out in their 2/5 review. "A creaky, lethargic and daft action thriller," lament The Daily Express, while Sky Movies are disappointed with a missed opportunity: "Where the film could have been self-aware and a little cleverer for it," they say, "director Jee-woon Kim misses a trick by sticking to the action formula."

It wasn't all doom & gloom for The Last Stand, although every positive review seems to be laced with caveats. "Slapdash in its character portraits, the movie is slambang in its action scenes; it springs to life whenever it promises death," say TIME Magazine. "Get through the plot and you'll be rewarded with 30 minutes of whirligig mayhem," write Empire, kindly.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Hopes To Win Maria Back, "I Still Love Her"

Arnold Schwarzenegger Maria Shriver Sylvester Stallone

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been quoted in Germany's top-selling newspaper as saying he's still in love with estranged wife Maria Shriver and hopes for a reconciliation. Shriver filed for divorce in 2012 after 25 years of marriage, following Schwarzenegger's admission that he fathered a child with the family's long-time housekeeper.

The actor and former Governor of California - currently starring in The Last Stand - reportedly told the Bild newspaper that despite the separation, he spent Christmas with Shriver and their children. "We're not fighting any war: I still hope for reconciliation; I still love Maria." Despite his personal problems, it could be a busy few years for Arnie, who this week confirmed he would be appearing in Terminator 5. In a video web-chat with The Sun, Schwarzenegger said, "They're writing right now Terminator 5. There have been some writers on it for the last year-and-a-half and they could not pull it off. We have told them over and over that they are going in the wrong direction, now they've finally got rid of those writers and they've got new really quality writers. Now they're going in the right direction." The action-star famously played the cyborg assassin in the first two classic movies, before reprising the role in 2003. He sat out of the last instalment, 2009's Terminator Salvation with Christina Bale and Sam Worthington.

Before the new Terminator movie, Schwarzenegger has signed up to star in thriller The Tomb, with old pal Sylvester Stallone, Unknown Soldier, and Triplets - a sequel to his classic comedy Twins.

The Last Stand Offers Perfect Platform For Arnold Schwarzenegger's Return

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzeneger’s political run might be done, but this is far from the end for the Governator’s publicity.

His latest flick The Last Stand has been getting quite a lot of hype lately. And it really doesn’t seem like this good-guy-vs-bad-guy story has anything to offer in the way of originality, but everybody seems to just be really excited that Arnie is back! And let’s face it, we are too. The timing – a January release – seems like a poor choice to release a brainless action flick, but with nothing else on the horizon currently, at least there won’t be any competition, right?

Schwarzeneger has been absent from the movie scene for eight whole years and at this point, it’s comforting to see his towering figure and hear that incredible accent on screen again. And not to mention that, where The Last Stand falters in terms of script and dialogue, it makes up for it in car chases and, well, the pure awesomness of the Governator. So, this one might not be making the critics all too happy, but we’re willing to bet that it will rake in quite the revenue, with audiences keen to just see Schwarzenegger back on screen.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Back! With The Last Stand

Arnold Schwarzenegger Johnny Knoxville

Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his long awaited return as a leading man in The Last Stand, proving he is a man of his word. He did say he'd be back.

The former Governor of California hasn't appeared in a starring role since 2003's 'Terminator' sequel Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, in which he resurrected his most famous role and not for the last time either. The 65-year-old actor may have had a considerable amount of time out on the sidelines of Hollywood, but that doesn't mean his lost an ounce of his famous Austrian charm that has endeared him to audiences over the decades.

Whilst this film may be called The Last Stand, this is by no means Arnie's last stand in the movies and his most recent foray in front of the camera has shown us that Hollywood have missed their go-to beefcake over the past decade, because no one can do what Arnold does. With Forest Whitaker and Johnny Knoxville helping out, as well as some lesser known actors and actresses (Luis Guzman, Jaimie Alexander, Rodrigo Santoro and Zach Gilford), the film is very much Arnold's show. Had Schwarzenegger not taken up the staring role then it is pretty reasonable to assume that this would be quite an unrespectable release, probably shipping straight to DVD - Arnold does this kind of stuff with movies though so its to be expected.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Backs Tarantino On Movie Gun Violence, "It's Entertainment"

Arnold Schwarzenegger Quentin Tarantino Sylvester Stallone

Arnold Schwarzenegger has weighed into the raging debate about gun violence in movies and its parallels with real-life. Last week, Django Unchained director Quentin Tarantino exploded at a UK journalist who brought up the much discussed subject, and Schwarzenegger holds similar views to the controversial director - effectively, that movie violence is fun.

The 65-year-old former governor of California - who has made a career out of shooting bad guys - said, "I personally feel that this is entertainment. The other thing is a serious real life tragedy. I think that we are going to continue doing entertainment. That is what we are doing as our profession, but at the same time, we all have a responsibility, I think, to improve the situation that we are in." Schwarzenegger returns to the screen this weekend in The Last Stand, an action movie in which he plays the sheriff of an Arizona border town tasked with stopping a Mexican cartel boss from returning to Mexico. The Terminator star noted that it's important not to stigmatize mental illness following gun tragedies like the one in Newtown, Connecticut, and cited parenting, education, security and gun laws as contributing factors to helping tackle gun crime. "We as a society have the responsibility to look at this and leave no stone unturned," he said.

The Last Stand is Schwarzenneger's first major role since leaving office, though he had a smaller part in The Expendables 2, which he says helped him prepare for his latest film. Later this year, he'll star opposite Sylvester Stallone in The Tomb. "I feel I have a bigger range, acting-wise," said Schwarzenegger. "It could be because of the age. It could be because of my experience that I have had now as governor."

Timber! How The Mighty Fall: This Week, Edward Furlong

Edward Furlong Arnold Schwarzenegger Edward Norton

Remember Edward Furlong? The hugely promising actor who broke through as John Connor in Terminator 2? Well, if you've heard of him, you're probably aware he hasn't had the best couple of years. His personal problems reached a crescendo on Tuesday morning (October 30, 2012) when arrested for felony domestic violence at LAX airport.

According to law enforcement sources who spoke with TMZ.com, Furlong allegedly got physical with his girlfriend at around 1am, grabbing her arm during an argument at the airport. When officers arrived, she had visible marks on her arm and the actor was immediately taken into custody. At the moment, he's still sitting in jail, though bail has been set at $50,000.

Furlong has had a funny old career, which began after he scooped a flurry of awards for his performance alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2. He followed it up with a couple of decent turns in indie flicks like Before and After and Little Odessa. In 1993, Aerosmith decided against featuring Alicia Silverstone in their video for 'Livin' on the Edge' (she had appeared in all other videos for Get a Grip) choosing Furlong instead. After several more movie roles, he delivered arguably his finest role in American History X, alongside Edward Norton. He played the younger brother of a neo-Nazi who is released from prison. The role landed Furlong a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film, though he eventually lost out to Star Trek: Insurrection's Michael Welch. And then thing started to go wrong.

Four Reasons Why Arnold Schwarzenegger's Return To 'Conan The Barbarian' Will Work

Arnold Schwarzenegger

30 years have passed by since Arnold Schwarzenegger graced the screen as Conan in the two films of the 80's - Conan the Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer - and still the former 'governator' is readying himself in don the pants and cape combo for one more time in the just announced Legend of Conan.

The project was announced by Deadline.com on Thursday (Oct 25), who reported that Universal Pictures had just signed a deal to make the project happen and frankly we could be more excited. Here are five reasons why the new Conan film could very well prove to be a hit:

1. The first film was great!

Arnold Schwarzenegger Set To Reprise 'Conan' Role

Arnold Schwarzenegger Danny Devito Eddie Murphy

Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to reprise one of his most famous film roles for the upcoming sequel to the reboot of the Conan the Barbarian movie, which now stars Jason Momoa as the fictitious warrior, Reuters reports.

Today (Oct 26) Universal Pictures announced that it not only planned to make a follow-up to the 2011 reboot, which was poorly received by critics and made little impact at the box office, but also that Schwarzenegger, 65, will play the sword-swinging hero in The Legend of Conan. His new role comes 30 years after he first started in the Conan film, the film that made him the star he is today.

On top of the Conan reboot, Schwarzenegger also has a few other projects up his sleeve as he continues to prove that regardless of his eight-year hiatus from Hollywood whilst serving as the Governor of California he will always have a spot waiting for him in Hollywood.

‘My Parents Thought I Was Gay’ – Arnold Schwarzenegger On ’60 Minutes’

Arnold Schwarzenegger Maria Shriver

Arnold Schwarzenegger gay? His parents sure thought he was, and tried to ‘cure’ him, he has revealed. He made the revelation during his ’60 Minutes’ interview on CBS, where he spoke about his new book ‘Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story.’ He told viewers that his father took a rather aggressive approach to dealing with the fact that the young Arnie had posters of men all over his walls rather than women. His father apparently would run after him with a belt to beat him, though his mother took the gentler approach of taking him to the doctor.

“I don't know if mum thought I was gay, or if she just thought there was something off,” explained Arnie. “And 'let's catch it early'. She asked the doctor, 'Can you help me? I don't know if there's something wrong with my son because his wall is full of naked men,’”. During the interview, he discusses his attitude towards gay marriage and clearly shocks interviewer Leslie Stahl when he reveals that he officiated the marriage of a lesbian colleague in his office.

Obviously, if his parents had a crystal ball and could see into the future, they would have known that their son may have been fascinated with the world of male bodybuilding, but he’s still very much interested in women. In fact, at the center of his chat on 60 Minutes was the scandal of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, the illegitimate child that he fathered with the family housekeeper and kept a secret from Maria Shriver, his wife of 25 years. He described his infidelity as “the stupidest thing I’ve done in the whole relationship” and continued “it was terrible. I inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and unbelievable pain on the kids.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger Opens Up About His Affair For The First Time

Arnold Schwarzenegger Maria Shriver

Arnold Schwarzenegger has, for the first time since the news broke, spoken of his affair with Mildred Baena - his former housekeeper with whom he fathered a secret love child with. The affair all but ended his 25-year marriage to Maria Shriver when it was revealed last year, the same year his term as the Governor of California ended.

On an upcoming episode of 60 Minutes, which is due to air tomorrow (September 30th 2012), the bodybuilder turned actor turned politician opens up on some of the most intimate details of his life for the first time on TV. The interview itself precedes the release of Schwarzenegger's revealing autobiography, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, which will be released on October 1st.

In an excerpt obtained by NY Daily News regarding his affair, and what it did to his marriage to Shriver, Arnold said that he believes it is "the stupidest thing I've done in the whole relationship. It was terrible. I inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and unbelievable pain on the kids."

Arnold Schwarzenegger Breaks Silence On ‘Terminator 5’ Speculation

Arnold Schwarzenegger Justin Lin

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘Terminator 5’ ambitions may be on hold, after the action star revealed there are no firm plans for another movie. A fourth film ‘Terminator Salvation’ came out in 2009 but did not feature the Austrian, though a report in 2011 suggested Arnie was teaming up with ‘Fast & Furious’ director Justin Lin.

In a new interview with Empire magazine, Schwarzenegger was asked whether the franchise still had life, replying, “They have been trying to put a script together but I've not seen it, so I've no idea. There's nothing on the board at this point. Nothing on the plan.” It’s likely that film studios would welcome a fifth movie – especially considering the success of The Expendables franchise – though a poor script would do nobody any favours. Arnie, now 65, also discussed how his increasing years will affect his forthcoming performances, explaining, “In the end you perform for the people. When you're not believable as the guy doing high kicks and flying through the air, then you have to punch up other areas and rely more on drama. This change and what happens in the near future with all my movies is all going to be a good experience for me. I have to broaden myself, expand and concentrate on the acting and on the characters.”

His next movie ‘The Last Stand’ is due out in early 2013 – his first leading role in over 10 years.

Ray Owens is a police sheriff whose major crime fighting days are all but over when he swaps his job in the LAPD combating drug crimes for the much less strenuous post in the quite town of Sommerton Junction on the Mexican border, after a botched drugs operation left him feeling defeated when his friend and colleague ended up crippled. His comfort in his new post is challenged all too soon when the most formidable drug tycoon in the western world, Gabriel Cortez, slips from the clutches of the FBI. Cortez and his ruthless army head towards the Mexican border in Sommerton Junction at 250 miles per hour in a deadly modified Corvette ZR1 with a hostage, mercilessly shooting at the police officers attempting to arrest them and easily sweeping police cars out of their way. They are pursued by the entire law enforcement of America led by Agent John Bannister, though Owens is unwilling to bring his team into the fight at first, feeling not the officer he used to be. His reluctance becomes irrelevant anyway when he is told to take a backseat due to the lack of experience of his team; however Owens soon changes his mind and bands his modest taskforce together to forcibly take on the fierce drug gang themselves.

The Expendables 2 Review

Good
Although there's been no attempt to tone down the first film's bloodthirsty hyperviolence or dim-witted plotting, this sequel is a massive improvement simply because they have fun with the premise. As a result, so do we.

Barney (Stallone) and his team of ageing mercenaries are coerced by Church (Willis) into heading into hostile territory to retrieve a top secret electronic gadget. Most shocking is the fact that Church insists that a woman, Maggie (Yu), joins them. And when things go wrong, Barney leads the gang on a grisly revenge mission against a nasty villain (Van Damme) who's callously putting humanity in peril. Along the way they're joined by Church and Trench (Schwarzenegger), and get help from lone-wolf Booker (Norris).

Revenge Of The Electric Car Review

Very Good
Less thrilling than Paine's 2006 documentary Who Killed the Electric Car, this follow-up takes a more personal approach, focussing on four key people involved in developing mass-market cars that don't require petrol.

Over the last century, GM has made 400 million petrol-burning vehicles. They also created the EV1, the first modern electric car, but gave up on the idea, recalled and crushed them. As technology and commercial prospects improved, red-hot entrepreneur Musk launched Tesla, a high-end electric roadster. GM's car-guru Lutz responded with the Volt, a much-cheaper hybrid, while shark-like Nissan CEO Ghosn became determined to tap into a generation that won't even consider buying a fuel-burning car. Meanwhile, Gadget is quietly converting classic cars to electric engines.

Video - Arnold Schwarzenegger Takes A Sunny Lunch In Los Angeles

The former Governator was spotted making his way to his car after enjoying lunch with friends at Cafe Roma in Los Angeles. He was responsive to photographers who exchanged some friendly banter with the actor turned politician, however remained unresponsive when quizzed on the condition of his son who was involved in a skiing accident in March. Patrick Schwarzenegger, his third child with ex-wife Maria Shriver only received minor injuries from the accident and has since made a full recovery.

Schwarzenegger will make his much welcomed return to cinema in the next few years with his first role coming in the form of a cameo appearance in the upcoming Expendable 2 sequel

The Expendables 2 Trailer

Mr Church reunites the Expendables: Barney Ross; Lee Christmas; Yin Yang; Gunnar Jensen; Toll Road and Hale Caesar for a simple job. They are joined by two newcomers: Billy the Kid and Maggie. All in all, it looks like an easy paycheck for the Expendables. But things aren't always what they appear to be and when one of their own is brutally killed, the men set out to get revenge.

The Expendables are a group of highly trained mercenaries who are past their prime. In their last adventure, they get together for a mission to overthrow a Latin American dictator in Vilena, an island in between the Gulf of Mexico and South America.

Chinese actress Yu Nan joins the cast as the first female Expendable, while Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger expand their cameos as Mr Church and Trent Mauser, respectively. The Expendables 2 is directed by Simon West (Con Air; Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) and was written by Sylvester Stallone, who directed the first film, which was released in 2010. Jingle All The Way Review

Bad
Jingle All the Way, the Christmas-themed 1996 Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy, is ideal for kids because it's broad and silly. As for the adults watching, they should make sure their eggnog contains a little extra rum. I understand that the movie is for kids -- after all, Christmas is the ultimate kids' holiday -- but can the adults have some fun? For director Brian Levant the answer is no, meaning any viewer over the age of 10 is in for some rough sledding.

For the movie's hero, Howard Langston (Schwarzenegger), his current situation is slightly less trying. A workaholic, Howard has become a lousy husband and father, missing a series of obligations and special events. His young son, Jamie (Jake Lloyd), takes Howard's absences especially hard.

Predator Review

Bad
The scariest thing about Predator is that its lead actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is currently serving as governor of California. I'm not questioning Schwarzenegger's leadership or intellectual abilities, but it does worry me that the he-man who, in this movie, swings from trees, rolls in mud, and mumbles lines like, "If it bleeds, we can kill it," is leading the most populous state in the country. Beyond Schwarzenegger's startling career change, Predator offers little else that's remotely frightening. Unless you are still sucking your thumbs and cuddling with teddy bears, Predator offers only laughs, not chills. If you're mature enough to cross the street by yourself, you're far too mature to find Predator scary.

Yet, Predator does exhibit a few morsels of potential. Given the effective atmosphere and pacing of the film, it is evident that more capable minds could have molded this thriller into an ageless, unrelenting struggle between man and beast. Unfortunately, instead of penning a daring, original plot, writers Jim Thomas and John Thomas recycle formulas from movies like Rambo and Alien. It goes without saying that Predator brings nothing new to the table, and lacks both surprise and suspense.

End Of Days Review

OK
Here it is, November of 1999, and I thought we weren't going to get a good end-of-the-world, Satan-conquers-all apocalypse movie (Dogma doesn't count). Whew! End of Days arrives just in time (no pun intended) to quench that Linda Blair thirst.

If you know the basic plot of End of Days ("Satan visits New York in search of a bride") the question you'll be asking isn't, "Is this a bad movie?" Rather, it will probably be, "How bad can it be?"

Around The World In 80 Days (2004) Review

Terrible
The 50-year-old Jackie Chan has lost a step or two. This remake of the award winning 1956 classic Around the World in 80 Days is clearly just a vehicle to further his career; unfortunately it mainly showcases his age. His fight scenes are laughably choreographed and his acting comes across as forced.

Chan's problems are indicative of many others faced by this overblown $110 million mess. Even as production was finishing, a distributor had not been found. Not surprisingly, Disney eventually picked up the film. Yet, what is surprising is Disney's decision not to distribute a challenging film like Fahrenheit 9/11, but instead to release this one, a flavorless and disgraceful remake.

The 6th Day Review

Weak

Underneath "The 6th Day's" Schwarzenegger schmaltz of expensive explosions, showpiece stunts and utterly extraneous jet-helicopter chases, there's an intelligent cautionary thriller about science run amuck which has been trampled to death.

Taking place in a future that is "sooner than you think" -- a high-gloss world of virtual girlfriends, self-driving cars and illegal cloning -- the plot is basically a rehash of "Total Recall" in which Arnold plays a seemingly average joe whose life is turned upside-down by the cogs of a giant conspiracy.

Schwarzenegger is Adam Gibson, an oh-so-suburban dad who owns a souped-up helicopter charter service. On the day he's been hired to drop a paranoid billionaire (Tony Goldwyn) on a mountain top for a day of skiing, Adam switches chopper duties with his business partner (Michael Rapaport) so he can go to the mall and get a RePet -- a genetic copy of the family dog -- before his daughter finds out the critter died.

Terminator 3: Rise Of The MacHines Review

OK

Several significant plot holes prove a frustrating and unnecessary distraction from the exhilarating, ante-upping, unflagging action of "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," an otherwise worthy, series-fulfilling successor to the groundbreaking looming-apocalypse flicks that made the careers of Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron.

One nuclear-crater-sized chasm of common sense comes at a pivotal moment when the film's three heroes -- future human freedom fighter John Conner (Nick Stahl), his future wife and first lieutenant Kate Brewster (Clare Danes), and yet another time-traveling Terminator (Schwarzenegger relishing again the one role in which he's truly awesome) -- magically turn up deep inside a top-secret military base without any explanation of how they breached security.

They've come to stop Kate's father (David Andrews), an Air Force general in charge of an artificial intelligence project, from throwing the switch that will give the dangerously self-aware SkyNet defense computers access to all military systems, leading to the nuclear annihilation of mankind.

Around The World In 80 Days Review

OK

Jules Verne might have a hard time recognizing his source material in the Jackie Chan action-comedy adaptation of "Around the World in 80 Days," but for non-purists, it's easy to forgive the many liberties taken in this funny, fleet-footed summer-matinee romp.

Although the ostensible main character is still screwball Victorian inventor Phileas Fogg (lanky Steve Coogan) -- who wagers against the stuffed shirts of the English scientific establishment that he can circumnavigate the globe in the titular time period -- this version of the story more literally revolves around Passepartout (Chan), Fogg's valet who has his own reasons for traipsing across continents.

Passepartout has stolen a jade Buddha from a Bank of London vault in order to return it to its rightful place: his native village in China. Fogg is his ticket to safe passage -- or so he thinks.
