The sisters' fashion house, The Row, and its parent company Dualstar were sued in 2015 in a class action suit by 185 unpaid interns over working conditions.
A long-standing lawsuit between Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion house The Row and a group of 185 former unpaid interns has been settled to tune of $140,000, according to a new report by the New York Daily News’ Page Six column.
The 30 year old twins and former ‘Full House’ stars run a business empire worth an estimated $300 million. However, former design intern Shahista Lalani filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of a group of colleagues, saying that she was once overworked by their fashion house to the point of dehydration and hospitalisation.
“It was like 100 degrees outside. I’d just be sweating to death,” Lalani said about her experience working for The Row when she filed the suit back in the summer of 2015. “I probably carried like 50 pounds worth of trench coats.”

Can you imagine Ashley Olsen and Rumer Willis playing the Upper East Side It-girls?
While we can't imagine anyone other than Blake Lively and Leighton Meester playing the roles of Serena and Blair on ‘Gossip Girl’, casting director David Rapport has revealed that the two actress’ weren't the studio’s first choice. Instead Rumer Willis and Ashley Olsen were the studio's top picks to play the Upper East Side queens.
Rumer Willis was almost cast in ‘Gossip Girl’.
"I think the network initially pitched us Ashley Olsen and Rumer Willis for Blair and Serena,” Rapport told Buzzfeed. "I love Rumer, she’s grown into quite an amazing actress and person, but that, to me, was based on protecting the investment of a television show where creatively, these lesser-known girls really captured the essence of the show and carried it for six years.”
A former unpaid intern, Shahista Lalani, is leading a class-action lawsuit against the Olsen twins' company Dualstar arguing that they were misclassified as being exempt from minimum wage laws.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion company is the subject of a class-action lawsuit brought by a number of unpaid interns who claim that they were overworked and treated unfairly, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.
A group of 40 current and former interns is suing the Dualstar Entertainment Group for appropriate compensation, arguing that they were putting in 50-hour weeks and performing exactly the same tasks as paid employees at the company, thus making them wrongly classified as being exempt from minimum wage legislation.

John Stamos was not impressed with the Olsen twins when they worked on ‘Full House’ with him. So much so that he even tried to have them sacked!
John Stamos pushed for the sacking of the Olsen twins from Full House, the 51-year-old actor admitted at a press conference on Thursday (6th August). Stamos’ attempt at having Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen fired came to light when the preview of The Unauthorized Full House Story was published online earlier this week. The Lifetime movie is a dramatization of what allegedly went on behind the scenes during filming of the sitcom between 1987 and 1995.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been confirmed as not returning for the Netflix reboot.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen may have decided they wont be moving to John Stamos’ ‘Fuller House’ on Netflix, but that doesn't mean Michelle Tanner will be forgotten. Speaking to US Weekly, Jodie Sweetin, who played older sister Stephanie on the original series, said that Michelle Tanner will "still have a presence" on the show.
Mary-Kate and Ashley are not returning for ‘Fuller House’.
"The Michelle character is still going to have a presence. It's not like were not talking about her," Sweetin said. ”I love and support [Mary-Kate and Ashley], and I think we're going to be just fine.” Sweetin also revealed that filming on the new series was set to begin next month.
The twins will not be reprising their role as Michelle Tanner for the Netflix reboot.
Mary Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen will not be a part of the upcoming ‘Full House’ reboot, ‘Fuller House’ on Netflix, it has been confirmed. The twins began their acting careers on the series, jointly playing the role of Michelle Tanner from 1987 to 1995. But the 28 year old twins have shied away from acting in recent years, preferring to focus on their careers as fashion designers.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen shared the role of Michelle Tanner in the sitcom.
In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, the series’ executive producer Robert L. Boyett said, “Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of 'Fuller House', I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family.”
Dave Coulier has confirmed he will be starring in the upcoming revival series of 'Full House'.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen apparently had no idea that the 'Full House' revival was even a thing before the world knew on Monday.
‘Full House’ may be coming back to screens, but it was apparently news to two of the original series’ biggest stars. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen claim that the first they had heard of the revival was John Stamos making the announcement on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ earlier this week.
News broke on Monday that the fondly-remembered series would be getting a reboot under the name ‘Fuller House’, after Netflix commissioned thirteen new episodes. But in an interview with WWD on Tuesday, Ashley Olsen said that they had heard nothing prior to the actual announcement.

The Olsen twins are back in the news with the announcement of Mary-Kate Olsens engagement, but what are the Olsens up to these days?
News that Mary-Kate Olsen is set to marry French banker Olivier Sarkozy has got us thinking about our favourite blonde twins and wondering what they’ve been up to lately. Other than getting engaged and attending fashion shows of course!
The Olsen twins have taken a step back from their original careers as actresses
Well, really the twins haven’t been up to much at all. Not in the way of their original vocation of acting at least. Mary-Kate hasn’t appeared onscreen since starring in 2011’s Beastly, a modern teenybopper take on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, while twin sis starred as Kissing Girl #3 in 2009’s The Jerk Theory. Previously Ashley hadn’t done any acting since Olsen twin movie, New York Minute, which came out ten years ago in 2004. Can you believe it’s been that long?
