After 12 seasons, it’s time to say goodbye to ‘Two And A Half Men’.
Time is up for the ‘longest-running live-action sitcom’ currently on television, as CBS’s ‘Two and a Half’ men has been given the date for its final episode. The series, which is currently on its 12th season, will have aired 262 episodes by the time it finally bows out next year.

The final ‘Two And A Half Men’ episode will air on CBS on Thursday, February 19th at 9 p.m. and will be a special hour long finale. Despite cast changes and controversy the series has continued to pull in the ratings and currently still manages to average around 10 million viewers.

Debuting in September 2003, the sitcom initially followed Charlie Sheen as wealthy bachelor Charlie Harper who lived with his recently divorced brother Alan (played by Jon Cryer) and his teenaged son Jake (Angus T. Jones). The show quickly gained notoriety for its often edgy humour, but found a loyal audience, spending five years as the most popular sitcom on US television.
However in 2011 the series hit the headlines after producers fired lead actor Charlie Sheen, following a clash with Warner Bros. and show creator Chuck Lorre. Sheen’s character was subsequently killed off during the ninth season premiere and Ashton Kutcher was brought in as the show’s new lead actor.

Earlier this year, Angus T. Jones, who had been a part of the series since he was 10 years old, officially left the show. After discovering religion, Jones had been outspoken about his disagreements with the show’s humour and upon his exit described himself as being "a paid hypocrite”.

The show’s finale date will mark the debut of a new sitcom, which CBS will undoubtedly hope could fill the channel’s ‘Two And A Half Men’ sized hole. 'The Odd Couple', a remake of Neil Simon’s much adapted work will star Matthew Perry in the lead role along with Thomas Lennon and Lindsay Sloane.
