Debuting in September 2003, the sitcom initially followed Charlie Sheen as wealthy bachelor Charlie Harper who lived with his recently divorced brother Alan (played by Jon Cryer) and his teenaged son Jake (Angus T. Sheen’s character was subsequently killed off during the ninth season premiere and Ashton Kutcher was brought in as the show’s new lead actor.
