The movie, due to be shown at the end of November, stars Megan Charpentier as Chrystal, a young girl who wishes for a friend and receives Grumpy Cat. Grumpy Cat herself, voiced by Aubrey Plaza, notes the wish may not have gone to plan as she's hardly the ideal companion.
In the minute long trailer Grumpy Cat is seen firing a paint ball gun, driving a car in a shopping mall and demolishing a building. From the trailer the film seems self depreciating with Grumpy Cat at one point remarking "Don't get sappy on me. Wait, I forgot - it's a Lifetime movie."
Aubrey Plaza voices Grumpy Cat.
The two-year-old cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, became an internet sensation in 2012 and has gradually grown in popularity online and in various media ever since. The reason for Grumpy Cat's permanently irritated expression is due to feline dwarfism.
It's certainly been a busy year for Grumpy Cat as she released a book The Grumpy Guide to Life, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Friskie's, featured in an episode of Sesame Street and frequently appears on such reality shows as American Idol.
Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever airs on Lifetime at 8pm 29th November.
