A survey of 2,000 adults, entitled 'The Great British Style Audit', revealed the 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' star topped the list taking home 27% of the vote, while the late Princess Diana came in a close second place with 23%.
Other royals to make it onto the list included the Duchess of Cambridge in fourth place and surprisingly, Elizabeth I, who took the sixth spot.
Former soccer player David Beckham - who has starred in fashion campaigns for H&M and Belstaff - received 23% of the vote, with his wife Victoria Beckham, who is renowned for her eponymous label, coming in at ninth place.
While David was the highest scoring male to make it into the top 10, legendary 'James Bond' star Sean Connery was voted in at seventh place and 80s icon David Bowie came eighth.
1960s beauty Twiggy took the fifth spot, while supermodel Kate Moss rounded off the list.
The survey was conducted to coincide with the launch of Samsung's new Galaxy S6 smart phone which has been described by the company as their ''most stylish yet''.
