Its been 20 years since A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell got together in an Orlando, Florida studio for the first time, and since then the Backstreet Boys have gone all the way to the top, called it quits, then got back together and continued where they left off. Yesterday, their achievements in the music industry were recognised by the board of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, who presented the boyband with their very own star on the coveted stretch of pavement.

Their star was placed next to fellow all-boy group, Boyz II Men, and each of the band members were overwhelmed with emotion during the unveiling of their star. "Backstreet is Back ... and we aren't going anywhere," Nick Carter told the crowd, whilst Kevin Richardson gave a much more emotional response to the band's honour, holding back the tears as he said, "What an honor it is. What a beautiful day. What another beautiful way to celebrate 20 years together."

The group have sold a massive 130 million+ albums worldwide throughout their 20 year career, scoring plenty of number one hits along the way such as 'I Want It That Way' and 'Shape of My Heart.' As Carter said, the band wont be going anywhere anytime soon either as they are about to undertake a massive world tour, beginning in China this May. The Backstreet Boys are also set to release a new album this summer, their still untitled eighth effort so far, and are currently filming a music documentary that will premiere in 2014.
