The news was first reported by the National Enquirer but other sources, speaking to Us Weekly and People, have confirmed the news.

The small reception was held at Manilow's home in Palm Springs, California and was attended by 20 to 30 guests, according to reports in People. The ceremony was a complete surprise for those attending as they believed they had been invited for lunch!

Reports suggest the couple did not sign official paperwork but both wear wedding bands, according to sources. Although the marriage is not official, a source said they "are committed to one another and have been for a very long time. They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry."

Manilow has previously described himself as "private" and has not discussed his sexuality before. Manilow, in an interview with the Telegraph in 2012, stated he was single but had no interest in sharing details of his life with the press.

"I am a private guy. You can only come into my world if I invite you in. From the very beginning that was the rule," Manilow said in the interview.

Manilow remains private as neither his nor Keif's representative have acknowledged the rumours surrounding his marriage. However, a source close to the couple claims Manilow is "in a great place and he really doesn't care what people think."

"He's in love and he's happy," the source added.

Manilow was married once before in 1964 to Susan Deixler. They divorced in 1966.
