The Interview

Seth Rogen Vs. North Korea: Seth Rogen should be feeling a little nervous right now. The actor and funnyman, who is preparing for the fall release of new movie The Interview, has been threatened after North Korea issued an official complaint to the UN. The shady country raised its hackles over the plot of Rogen's new movie, which depicts a plot to kill dictator Kim Jong-Un. This is unbelievable. If you want to thumb your nose at the Supreme Leader, go giggle at the poster - it's hilarious.

George Clooney Vs. The Daily Mail: George Clooney should only have seating arrangements and wedding cake tasting on his mind at the moment but the Gravity actor has had to engage in battle with The Daily Mail over comments the tabloid made alleging that the mother of Clooney's fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, was not happy with her daughters upcoming nuptials on religious grounds - a claim the actor has called a "lie." Clooney got angry, the Mail apologised, Clooney got angrier.

Gone Girl Trailer

Nick Dunne finds himself at the fore of a police investigation when his wife Amy mysteriously goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. He has mixed emotions about the whole thing as he enlists volunteers to help find her; their marriage has been on the rocks after he lost his job and dragged Amy away from New York to open a new business. Their relationship was often volatile, further implicating his involvement in her disappearance. A part of him is not so worried about her; he knows how manipulative and deceitful she can be, but unfortunately his lack of visible devastation on TV goes solidly against him for those who are sure he's killed her. As it turns out, he's not so honest either and things come to a head when it turns out that every person in this story has a secret.

Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Celebrate Anniversary With Old-School Romance

Ben Affleck Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner celebrated their nine year anniversary in Detroit on Sunday (29th June). The Hollywood couple have been spending time in the city as Affleck films his upcoming blockbuster movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Instead of jetting back to L.A. to celebrate their anniversary in the company of their celebrity friends, the couple chose to roll out a little old school romance and go on an intimate dinner date to a local Detroit restaurant, Bistro 82, a fine-dining establishment in Detroit.

Justin Near of Near Perfect Media, which represents the bistro's AFB Hospitality Group, spilled the beans on the couple's appearance, saying that they arrived in the early evening and stayed for an hour before going on elsewhere. "A lot of people did a double take," Near told ABC News. "It was just the two of them, just like any other couple celebrating their anniversary."

It has been confirmed: DC now has its Aquaman and it’s none other than Jason Momoa. The news that Momoa will play the DC Comics superhero Aquaman in both the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and its sequel Justice League was confirmed by Variety, after months of heavy speculation.

Momoa cleverly brushed off the Aquaman rumors, right until his contract was confirmed.

Ben Affleck might seem like the general “nice guy” type, but he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Affleck has reportedly been banned from the  Hard Rock Las Vegas Casino (well, the blackjack table anyway), after he was caught counting cards. According to the New York Daily News, the Argo director was playing blackjack, when his lucky streak attracted the attention of a security guard.

Ben Affleck Is "Welcome Back" At Las Vegas Casino Despite Card Counting Rumours

Ben Affleck Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck is not banned from playing blackjack at a Las Vegas casino, contrary to reports which suggested Affleck had been asked to leave the establishment after he was discovered counting cards.

According to reports on RadarOnline, Affleck was allegedly caught counting cards at two Vegas casinos and an APB (all-points bulletin) was sent out to all casinos to be weary of the Good Will Hunting actor. Allegedly, the bulletin made casinos aware of Affleck's presence in Vegas and related the incident in which he was apparently caught counting cards. A note on the bulletin stated Affleck "has been observed playing blackjack at multiple Las Vegas Strip properties, and is suspected of moving his wagers with the count. He was reportedly backed off at one off-Strip casino."

The incident occurred, according to reports, on April 28th when Affleck was playing blackjack at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. Allegedly, Affleck was told by security he had to stop playing immediately. Affleck was visiting Vegas with his wife Jennifer Garner at the time of the alleged incident. Another casino also allegedly banned Affleck, namely the Wynn Properties resort.

Whilst card counting is not illegal, it is unacceptable in gambling establishments and casinos employ both security and specialist recognition software in order to prevent it. Affleck was allegedly using his chip stack as a means of counting the cards, a common technique professional gamblers use, according to reports in the San Jose Mercury News.

However, these reports may have been exaggerated as both casinos have denied any ban. The Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas released a statement which reads: "Mr Affleck, a value guest of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time." The other casino in question has also denied barring Affleck from their establishment.

The Batman vs. Superman movie casting may have had comic book fans on the brink of desperation up until now, but it looks like Zack Snyder and Co. may have gotten one thing right. Meet your new Cyborg – Ray Fisher. Now, Fisher is primarily a stage actor, although that has been known to work for past superhero movies and he has been cast as Victor Stone. 'Gone Girl' Trailer, A Critical Discussion

Ben Affleck Rosamund Pike

We’ve been waiting for the Gone Girl movie to come out, well, practically since the book did. The best-selling thriller was an international sensation, while the film is currently in post-production, due out in October later this year.  There's going to be a lot of discussion over this movie in the months to come, you don't adapt such a popular novel without a lot of debate over pretty much everything.

Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck stars as Nick Dunne in Gone Girl

Thankfully, the trailer has finally been released, but does it live up to our expectations? The answer to that is a big fat YES! And then some. So, let’s take a look at it in a bit more detail. Playing over the solemn opening vigil is Richard Butler’s version if Elvis Costello’s ‘She’. The lyrics “She may be the face I can’t forget, a trace of pleasure or regret, may be my treasure of the price I have to pay” drift eerily over shots of Nick Dunne, played by Ben Affleck, addressing a crowd who have gathered in the hope of finding his missing wife, Amy, played by Rosamund Pike. Amy has mysteriously disappeared, their home shows traces of a struggle, but Nick denies knowing anything about where she may have gone.

Ben Affleck Is Creepy And Questionable In First Trailer For David Fincher's "Gone Girl"

Ben Affleck Rosamund Pike Neil Patrick Harris Tyler Perry David Fincher

The first trailer for David Fincher’s Gone Girl is out. The last bit of news about the Gillian Flynn adaptation came out months ago, so the trailer provides a helpful reminder that A. The project is still moving ahead and B. It looks quite good at this point. Ben Affleck plays Nick Dunne, whose wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary. Nick soon ends up as the primary suspect in the police investigation  and has to find his wife to prove his innocence.

Gone Girl Promo
The first trailer gives us very little to go on.

The new trailer emphasizes the investigation and the pressure that Affleck’s character feels as the suspicion falls squarely on him. It also seems to feature Amy’s lifeless body, meaning that Nick will face a murder investigation at some point in the film. The trailer also plays up the barrage of media attention that Nick and the investigation attract, so this will probably be a prominent subject in the film.

We were all surprised when Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation by way of a post on Paltrow’s Goop website on Tuesday evening. The couple, who have been married for 10 years and had two children together announced they were ‘consciously uncoupling’, and thus the showbiz world began mourning another high profile couple. Before there was Chris and before there was Angelina, Hollywood’s hottest couple was Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow. Although now the two might seem like an unlikely pairing, back in the mid nighties they were the hot couple of the moment. These two set out to define the era for star couples, sporting matching cropped blonde hair and sometimes even matching outfits, (too far). They even got engaged! Although they might have seem like a young Hollywood dream come true, sadly it wasn't to be and they split in 1997 after three years of dating. Gwyneth would later take responsibility for the break up, telling Diana Sawyer ‘My kind of internal stuff really tripped up that whole relationship and I felt really responsible, and also like I was the architect of my own misery … I just made a big mess out of it.’.

Star Wars Episode VII isn’t the only movie currently shrouded with mystery and dogged by rumours. Batman vs. Superman still remains an enigma to us, but we’ve done some investigation and managed to pool together what we know so far about the movie.

it has been confirmed that Henry Cavill will reprise his Man of Steel role and slip back into his very clingy superhero suit to play Superman (won't hear any ladies complaining there), although Christian Bale won’t be following (in his Batman) suit. Ben Affleck is billed to take over from Bale and don the Dark Knight cape. Website Movie Pilot is claiming that Affleck’s Batman will be forty years old and retired from superheroism. Since his retirement Batman has accumulated his gang of super pals, NightWing, BatWing, BatGirl and RedRobin. Batman’s best known sidekick, Robin, will allegedly have been killed by The Joker, who had returned to Gotham after the events of The Dark Knight Rises.

Ben Affleck's Batman Debut Held Back Until May 2016

Ben Affleck Henry Cavill Gal Gadot Jason Momoa Zack Snyder

It seems as though we'll have to wait a bit longer to see Ben Affleck in tight spandex pants, sharing screen time with Henry Cavill's equally tight spandex pants. DC were looking to launch their own multi-hero film franchise with the release of the Man of Steel sequel, working under the title of 'Superman vs. Batman,' in July 2015, however a recent announcement from the studio has said we'll have to wait a little longer.

Man of Steel
The first Man of Steel was a hit and the sequel promises to be even bigger

Warner Brothers revealed on Friday (17 Jan.) - via The Hollywood Reporter - that it planned on holding back on the Man of Steel sequel until 6 May, 2016, with the studio's prequel of Peter Pan - titled Pan - replacing the initially planned 17 July, 2015, release date. The studio did not give any reason as to why the films were trading release dates, however has been suggested that Warner Bros. wanted a May release for the superhero film owing to the month's tendency to yield higher box office returns in recent years.

Joaquin Phoenix could be the next actor to be announced for the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie, scheduled for 2015. The movie will see Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman go head-to-head for the first time on film. If the rumour is confirmed, Phoenix will join Cavill and Affleck as well as Amy Adams' Lois Lane and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

Could Joaquin Phoenix Play Lex Luthor?

Fans of the 39 year-old Walk The Line actor won't be used to seeing Phoenix star in such big-name, huge budget action blockbusters which means the Batman Vs. Superman movie will be an intriguing change of role for the reclusive star. According to sources speaking to Variety, Phoenix is being linked to the movie as the film's antagonist, probably Lex Luthor.

Jason Momoa In Talks For 'Superman Vs Batman' - Are We Looking At A Justice League Movie?

Jason Momoa Superman Batman Zack Snyder Ben Affleck Henry Cavill

More news from the upcoming 'Superman Vs Batman' movie as Jason Momoa is apparently a definite maybe to join the cast.

The 'Conan the Barbarian' star could be set to star as Martian Manhunter in the upcoming film, which currently has no official title but will serve as a sequel to this year's 'Man Of Steel'. The character is one of the superhero members of the DC comic book team, the Justice League of America so if this suggestion is true, it could throw into question an 'Avengers' style movie given that Wonder Woman will also make an appearance in the movie.

Kryptonian supervillain Doomsday from the Batman franchise is another possibility for Momoa; a character known to be the only supervillain to have ever managed to kill Superman - a storyline that appeared in the 1992 comic 'The Death of Superman'.

The Zack Snyder-directed sequel is set to premiere in 2015 but the filmmakers are ensuring that there's sizeable fan interest in the project way, way before the movie is released. During August's Comic-Con panel, Man of Steel actor Harry Lennix read from Frank Miller's graphic novel from a scene in which the caped heroes are locked in battle to set the scene for the new movie: "I want you to remember, Clark. In all the years to come, in all your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you" to which the Superman and Batman logos were projected on to a screen melded together.

We thought Christian Bale might have some advice for Ben Affleck, but we assumed it would be some sort of grandiose speech detailing the intricacies of the character and the importance he holds to millions across the globe. Just ask Batkid.

Let's All Talk About Jaimie Alexander's Naked Dress [Pictures]

Jaimie Alexander Henry Cavill Ben Affleck Zack Snyder

Jaimie Alexander has become one of this week's most talked-about actresses, less for the rumor that she's preparing to become the next Wonder Woman, and more for her daring choice of outfit to the recent premiere of Thor: The Dark World.

Jaimie AlexanderAll Eyes Were On Jaimie Alexander At The 'Thor: The Dark World' Premiere.

Indeed, Alexander did turn up wearing one of the most revealing dresses we've ever seen: the bold attire showed us the entire length of her body from neck to toe but was kept "modest" by some clever wavy, opaque panelling. The Azzaro outfit has grabbed headlines because Ms. Alexander is very clearly not wearing any underwear. When she turned and walked away from the cameras, we were hit with the back of the dress which gave an equally surprising flash of buttock. See all our photos of Jaimie Alexender's dress here.

'Gravity' Leads The Way At The Box Office And Sets New October Record Too

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Ben Affleck Justin Timberlake

Gravity has proved to be the unlikely success story of early October thanks to the overwhelming word-of-mouth success. Having been heralded by the internet long before it was given it's official release on Friday, 4 October, the film rode out it's first weekend stay at the box office with immense success, gaining further praise and breaking the October box office record along the way.

Gravity
Gravity has soared to success

Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, both of whom (Bullock in particular) are being touted for awards success thanks to their performances in the film, Gravity has been described as an out of this world ocular treat, held together thanks to the gripping direction of Alfonso Cuaron and the performance of the two stars. This critical and internet-fuelled momentum has seen the film smash previous box office records for the month of October by bringing in an estimated $55.6 million over the weekend. As well as beating the record previously held by Paranormal Activity 3, the film is also the best opening for both of the film's stars, beating The Heat and Batman and Robin respectively.

Box Office Preview: Can 'Parkland' Take On Gravity's Pull, Runner Runner's Star Quality?

Zac Efron Justin Timberlake Ben Affleck George Clooney Sandra Bullock Alfonso Cuaron

Three films go head to head this weekend, all with reasonable claim to the top spot. But will the audiences go for a historical to learn about the demise of JFK; head for the stars with Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck or be sucked in by Gravity’s delightful pull.

Colin Hanks and Zac Efron in ParklandColin Hanks and Zac Efron in Parkland

Despite some mediocre reviews, Parkland strings together some attractive qualities: a bona fide history lesson, a great cast and, of course, Zac Efron’s face, which has proven to be a marketable asset up until now, so why would that change now? There are two things that mean Parkland won’t be top of the box office come Monday.

Runner Runner Review

Bad

Clearly something went horribly wrong as this thriller was being made, because despite a solid cast, gorgeous locations and an intriguing premise, the film is an incoherent mess. Sure, it looks achingly cool, but there isn't a single moment when the characters' motivations make any sense. And there's never a hint of suspense or danger.

It doesn't help that the set-up revolves around two of the least cinematic things on earth: finances and computers. Timberlake plays Princeton grad student Richie, who runs a gambling website to pay his tuition but loses his savings when another site cheats him. So he heads to Costa Rica to confront the online casino boss Ivan (Affleck). Impressed with his initiative, Ivan offers him a job, and soon Richie has more cash than he can possibly spend. But for some reason, all he wants is Ivan's colleague-girlfriend Rebecca (Arterton). Then a nosey FBI agent (Mackie) forces Richie to help him take Ivan down.

Director Fuhrman showed considerable promise with another renegade loner in The Lincoln Lawyer, but this film simply refuses to fill in enough of the gaps. Nothing that happens here is remotely convincing, as the characters are continually thrust into half-developed scenarios. Perhaps there's a more coherent longer version out there, because this one feels like it was edited with a machete. Even as a cautionary tale about the dangers of greed, this story has nothing relevant to say.
