The actress thinks it would be tough to recast her character, Winifred Sanderson.
Whilst Scarlett Lacey is writing a reboot of the original 'Hocus Pocus' Disney movie, fans are still crying out for an official sequel of the original, hoping for returning cast members for the flick rather than a completely new batch of talent. That doesn't look to be happening, and now the film's former leading star Bette Midler has said she's not interested in making a comeback for the Disney Channel reboot.
Bette Midler isn't afraid to get dressed up for Halloween!
Still in development and with the original film's producer David Kirschner signed on, there are high expectations surrounding the flick, but fans aren't convinced it will be able to live up to the lofty success the first movie has seen in the years since it first debuted.

The film looks to be getting a reboot in a straight-to-TV Disney movie.
When it comes to Disney, there are more classic animations than anything else. One of the exceptions to that rule however comes in the form of Halloween must-watch, 'Hocus Pocus'. Starring the brilliant Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy in the leading role of villainous witches Winifred, Sarah and Mary respectively, it's a film that achieved cult status upon home release.
Kenny Ortega seems keen to return to the franchise
What many don't know is that 'Hocus Pocus' wasn't a big box office hit. In fact, it didn't fare very well upon its initial release at all, taking a short while to really take off. Looking back, it's hard to imagine why people didn't go out in their droves to see the flick, as it still stands up as one of the best seasonal pictures of all time and even to this day takes in around $1 million in sales each October.

The 2017 Tony Awards results are finally in.
The 71st Tony Awards, hosted by the indomitable Kevin Spacey, took place over the weekend and the big winners did not come as a surprise. Musicals 'Dear Evan Hansen' and 'Hello, Dolly!' took home six and four awards respectively - not quite the takeover as 'Hamilton' but impressive nonetheless.

Bette Midler has slammed Justin Bieber’s dad after he tweeted about his son’s nude photos.

Let it be known, Ms Perry is no scrub (and neither is Bette Midler!)
Just three days after launching their Kickstarter campaign, TLC have not only raised enough money to record their fifth and final album, they’ve exceeded their goal. The group have so far raised over $210,000 in just three days, beating their target of $150,000 in 30 days.
TLC have raised more than enough to record their fifth and final album
The amazing total is thanks in part to some of the band’s famous fans including singer Katy Perry, who, according to TMZ, has donated $5,000 to the campaign. That $5,000 pledge gets Perry a slumber party with the girls where she can “put on her jammies, order some late night snacks and have some #TLCPillowTalk".
In support of her new album 'It's My Girl!', the 68 year-old singer is embarking on a 22-date North American tour next year.
Any fans who thought they would never get a chance to see Bette Midler live will be ecstatic to hear that the 68 year-old singer is embarking on a North American tour for the first time in ten years in May, 2015.

Celebrities flocked to the 2014 God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards at Spring Studios and posed for pictures on the red carpet. Amongst them was Bette Midler, an Academy award nominee, as well as a Grammy, Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony Award winner. Also there was Jenny Slate, a stand-up comedian and actress.
There's nothing we love more than finding out when celebrities are best friends, some of them aren't a secret, others will blow you away. We bet you never knew about Bette Midler and 50 Cent's budding best friendship...
Unlike Jennifer Lawrence and her rather normal best friend, Laura Simpson, celebs often pick other famous people to have as their BFFs. They all probably bump into each other at so many events that it’s difficult not to end up practically joined at the hip. Some of these celebrity BFFs you’ll already know about, some you’ll be totally surprised to hear have even met! The phrase chalk and cheese comes to mind.
Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston have been BFFs since their Monica and Rachel days. The pair have seen each other through weddings and divorces, children and various film/TV projects. “We just have fun, we laugh, we’re inseparable and it’s great”, Cox said of Aniston, while her best friend in turn dubbed her “the most dependable and loyal”. Mutual appreciation society, or what? We love it! That's how all best friends should talk about each other in our opinion.

Entertaining and uplifting, this Oscar-winning documentary tells the unknown story of the back-up singers who made classic records so memorable. Packed with lively, engaging people and fantastic music, the film also offers a sharp look at the music industry over the past 60 years in parallel with the fight for civil rights in America.
In the 1950s, background singers were usually white girls who read sheet-music perfectly. But they were quickly replaced with black artists who learned their craft in churches and could improvise harmonies with the lead singers. Suddenly, pop songs were infused with passion and life, as a handful of unknown singers performed backing vocals on virtually every classic hit since then. With their powerhouse voices and larger-than-life personalities, most have also tried to find success as solo artists. Others prefer to stay in the shadows.
For example, even though established stars acknowledge that she has more talent than any of them, Lisa Fischer prefers the quiet life out of the spotlight. Other belters like Merry Clayton, Tata Vega and Claudia Lennear can be heard on hundreds of timeless classics and are known throughout the industry, but never managed to get their solo careers off the ground. Judith Hill is a young artist who does soaring backing work while waiting for her own music to take off. And Darlene Love is the exception who managed both long background and solo careers.
