Five years after they welcomed their first child, Blue Ivy, into the world, Beyonce and her husband Jay Z have revealed that they are expecting twins, after the star announced that she is pregnant for the second time.

The 35 year old star, who is due to headline the Coachella festival in a few months’ time, took to Instagram to reveal the happy news to her fans. Posing in just a bra and underwear with her baby bump, the snap quickly became the most liked photo in Instagram history when she revealed the news on Wednesday (February 1st).

Hundreds of thousands of people instantly liked the photo, including celebs like Rihanna, Rita Ora and Brie Larson, meaning that in less than 24 hours it had overtaken the Selena Gomez ‘Coke bottle’ photo that had been the Instagram record holder.

Moreover, many people began speculating that Bey’s choice of blue underwear and pink bra meant that she was expecting a boy and a girl – although this hasn’t been confirmed.

Bey and Jay, who had reportedly been trying for children for years, welcomed their daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012. The following year, she told news outlets that they were already thinking about expanding their family to give Blue a sibling.

“I would like more children,” the Lemonade star told ABC News in 2013. “I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being a big sister [to Solange]… I am very protective.”

“Blue is so excited to be a big sister,” a source told Us Weekly soon afterwards the news was revealed. “[Beyoncé and Jay] are ecstatic. They have been trying for a long time and now to be blessed with twins they are so over the moon. It's even better than they wished for.”
