Beyonce played for 5,500 fans - including the First Lady Michelle Obama - at one of four concerts in Atlantic City on Saturday night (May 26, 2012). Ms Obama and her daughter Sasha and Malia watched on as Beyonce performed two dozen songs from her back catalogue, reports the Associated Press.
Stepping out at the Revel Resort's Ovation Hall, Beyonce excited the star-studded audience with a typically energetic set, which included 'Love on Top' and 'Crazy for Love'. The multi-platinum singer joked with the crowd about her recent diet, saying, "Y'all don't know how hard I had to work.I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on the treadmill, eating lettuce". Beyonce and her all-female band paid tributes to late singers Whitney Houston and Donna Summer throughout the night, singing a verse of 'I Will Always Love You', as well as performing 'Naughty Girl, which samples Summer's hit 'Love to Love You Baby'. She also gave a shout-out to the Queen of Disco, who passed away earlier this month following a battle with cancer. The set also featured renditions of Lauryn Hill's 'Ex-Factor' and the Goo Goo Dolls smash hit 'Iris'.
Beyonce will perform the last of her Memorial Weekend shows in Atlantic City on Monday evening (May 28, 2012).
