Matthew Knowles Re-Marries, Without Beyonce And Solange In Attendance

Matthew Knowles, the father and former manager of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, got married last Sunday, unfortunately without either of his daughters in attendance. TMZ reports that Knowles excused Solange and Beyonce’s absence with their packed schedules, saying: , "Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend."

Bey is a busy, busy woman these days.

Matthew married Gena Avery in a private ceremony in Houston, Texas, after being engaged to her for a year and a half. This is his second marriage, the first one being to Tina Knowles, aka Beyonce and Solange’s mother. The marriage ended in 2011 – the same year that Beyonce ended her professional relationship with Matthew. Knowles had been managing his daughter’s career since the Destiny’s Child days. However, back then he maintained that there were no hard feelings between the two of them. Beyonce confirmed this to Us Weekly, saying: "I've only parted ways with my father on a business level," Beyonce said. "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."

Matthew Knowles maintains that the relationship is as steady as ever.

So could this mean that the snub was just due to scheduling conflicts? After all, with constant media appearances, a tour still in progress and a one-year-old at home, there are plenty of demands on Bey’s time these days.

Maybe Beyonce just needed sometime with Mr Carter and Blue Ivy?
