Bill Hader stole the show on the season finale of 'Saturday Night Live'.

The 34-year-old actor bid a teary farewell to the infamous US comedy on Saturday night (18.05.13) after eight consecutive years on the hit show playing Stefon, a gay New York City correspondent, whose flamboyant ways created a bundle of laughs.

The final performance pulled lighter on the heart strings and had the audience in a fit of giggles after Stefon rushed off set following his weekly report and ended up at the altar where he was about to tie the knot with a new gay crush.

Ben Affleck - who co-hosted the last programme - isn't quite ready to hang up his acting shoes just yet for a career in comedy, but proved a hit with the audience when he peaked a humorous side to his personality on the 38th season finale.

The cast ended the show on a high with a musical performance featuring Bill on guitar.
