The Piano Man performed the last ever show at the Nassau Veteran Memorial Coliseum before its planned closure for renovation, and he made sure the night was a special one for the audience.

He was introduced to the stage by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and opened the concert with the apt song choice of Movin' Out.

Simon later appeared on stage as a surprise guest and performed three songs with Joel including Homeward Bound, according to Newsday.com.

The venue, which has hosted acts including Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Elvis Presley and Led Zeppelin, is set to be partly demolished as part of a multi-million dollar scheme to redevelop the venue.
