BJORN ULVAEUS has ruled out an Abba reunion as the musicians plan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their Eurovision Song Contest win, which propelled them to to international mega-stardom in the 1970s and 1980s.

Reports of a live get together have dogged the quartet for years, but singer/songwriter Ulvaeus insists it will never happen because he and his bandmates would look like "geriatrics onstage".

He tells the Bbc, "(A reunion) is the inevitable question. No we wouldn't (get back together). There would have to be a very strong motivation."

But he admits he still speaks with ex-wife Agnetha Faltskog and he has been working with bandmate Benny Anderson since 1967. The two Abba songwriters have teamed up to create a new Eurovision Song Contest anthem, titled We Write the Story.
