Christina Aguilera is said to be “furious” with producers of ‘The Voice’ for allegedly offering Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani a ‘sweetheart deal’ to pay them bonuses for ramping up the chemistry between them when on screen.

Aguilera, 35, has returned to the judging panel on the US version of the reality singing competition after a one year break. She is reported to be unhappy with an exclusive offered to the couple, after Stefani joined as a mentor on fellow judge Shelton’s team.

Radar Online reports that Shelton and Stefani, who have been dating for several months in the wake of their respective high-profile divorces last summer, will be given financial incentives if they indulge in loved-up moments on air, such as singing duets together.

“Producers want the two of them to give fans a full-on love-fest this season when she is a mentor on Team Blake, and they are going to throw in huge bonuses for exclusives, such as on-air duets, engagements, etc,” an inside source close on ‘The Voice’ said.

All of which has upset Aguilera, whose temporarily vacant spot Stefani filled during the last series. “Christina is furious... [She] wants Gwen out of the pictures and is already throwing mini tantrums about it. She said that Gwen is 'not vocally talented' and would not be on the show at all anymore if it was not for her relationship with Blake.”

Stefani, 46, recently revealed details of her new solo album This Is What The Truth Feels Like, her first record in almost a decade. She’s already admitted that the lead single, ‘Make Me Like You’, was written about her new relationship with Shelton.

The former No Doubt singer broke up with her husband of more than ten years, rock singer Gavin Rossdale, last summer, with whom she has three children. Shelton, for his part, divorced country singer Miranda Lambert last year.

'The Voice' returned to NBC on February 29th for its tenth season.
