The Old Time Rock and Roll singer has been chosen for his significant impact on the touring industry, and will collect the prize on 19 November (15) at a ceremony in New York City.

"Bob Seger is one of the most enduring live acts of all time and we are thrilled to honour him as our 2015 Legend of Live," Ray Waddell from Billboard says.

"While he has written and recorded some of the most beloved songs in rock history, Mr. Seger spent years grinding it out in the Midwest before he exploded into the national consciousness with one of the greatest live albums ever in 1975's Live Bullet. He has been packing arenas ever since, right through his triumphant 2014-2015 Ride Out tour and is a true Legend of Live."

The singer, 70, follows in the footsteps of past recipients Lionel Richie, Neil Diamond and Journey.
