The singer/rapper told U.S. talk show The Real that he and his family prayed for his daughter to survive after she was found face down in a bathtub in January (15). She died in July (15).

Brown appeared on the show with his wife Alicia Etheredge Brown, and in a preview of the interview, which is set to air on 14 September (15), he revealed his belief that the tragedy came about because Houston wasn't comfortable being "up there" on her own after her death in 2012.

He said, "We prayed in hope for six months, you know, for something better to happen, but when god calls you he calls you. I'm pretty sure her mother had a part with like, 'C'mon lets get her up here'... in the best way possible. She was not comfortable by herself, I guess, and she just called my daughter with her."

The circumstances surrounding Bobbi Kristina's death are still being investigated by authorities in Georgia, and a final autopsy report on the aspiring singer/actress' cause of death has yet to be released.

Brown's interview comes as lawyers for Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina's former boyfriend, denied allegations he caused her death, insisting he tried to resuscitate her but was unsuccessful.

The comments came in response to a civil lawsuit filed last month (Aug15) by relatives of Bobbi Kristina, accusing Gordon of assault, battery, theft and causing emotional distress.
