Producers of the Bond movies will reveal details of the next film in the franchise on Thursday (04Dec14), hours ahead of an exhibition of 007 props.

The 24th film in the hit series, starring Daniel Craig, goes into production on Monday (08Dec14) and bosses will reveal the movie's title and cast members at a special unveiling from the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios in England on Thursday.

The announcement comes just a day before a major auction of Bond movie props opens in Los Angeles.

The star lot of the sale is the tiny one-seat jet plane flown by the superspy in the pre-title sequence of 1983 movie Octopussy, which is expected to fetch up to $300,000 (£187,500).

A hovercraft from 2002's Die Another Day is estimated to attract bids of up to $40,000 (£25,000), and a helicopter prop from 1967 film You Only Live Twice is due to sell for up to $10,000 (£6,250).

Other lots in the Julien's Auctions sale include the iconic black swivel chair 007's arch nemesis Blofeld used in You Only Live Twice, a cell phone from Tomorrow Never Dies, and designer luggage seen in The Man With The Golden Gun.

The Icons & Idols: Hollywood Legends auction will take place in Beverly Hills on 5 and 6 December (14).
