It stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role, with the likes of Allen Leech, Matthew Beard and Alex Lawther - the latter of whom plays Turing's younger self. Directed by the BAFTA nominated Morten Tyldum, the movie has already been nominated for five Golden Globes, and it definitely looks to be in line for an Academy Award.

Brad Pitt Dismissed From Jury Duty For Being Too Famous

You have to admit if you found yourself plonked next to one of Hollywood's most recognisable actors in court, you really wouldn't be interested in listening to evidence being given no matter how professional you are. And it seems that that has been taken into account with his recent calling to jury service in Los Angeles being cancelled. Lucky guy.

It was 2008 when screenwriter Paul Webb first announce the project, which would also bring on board Brad Pitt as a producer, but according to Oyelowo it took seven years in total to complete - a situation that wasn't as much of a drawback as it sounds in hindsight. 'I think it kind of happened at exactly the right time because the preparation for it was layered', he explains. 'There was a physical element to it, emotional, research element interviewing people but then there was a spiritual element to it as well. This man was led by his spiritual conviction and I felt I had to open up to that in order to be able to do it.'

Angelina Jolie Named TIME's Woman Of The Year

Fury Review

Good

From Training Day to this year's Sabotage, filmmaker David Ayer writes and directs movies about the cathartic power of releasing your inner warrior. And this World War II action thriller is more of the same, with a "war is hell" message stirred in for good measure. The problem is that there's nothing particularly new here. It's a beautifully shot and edited film, with terrific performances and a remarkable sense of scale, but there have been so many movies made about this conflict that it's difficult to find something original to connect with.

It's near the end of the war, April 1945, as Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) leads the crew of a tank named Fury: Bible (Shia LaBeouf) is a true believer, Gordo (Michael Pena) is a relaxed joker, and Coon-Ass (Jon Bernthal) is a hot-headed thug. Having just lost their driver, they're joined by rookie Norman (Logan Lerman), who doesn't yet have a wartime nickname because he never thought he'd end up driving a tank. Together, they head further into Germany, not as liberators but as invaders and occupiers, working with other tank crews to take a strategic town before heading further into the hot zone, where a series of particularly brutal Nazi assaults ensue.

The point of the film seems to be that war erodes a person's humanity over time, and the sharpest aspect is the way each character emerges at some point on the continuum. Obviously, Norman is the naive newbie who still has a strong conscience, while at the other extreme Coon-Ass is virtually a monster. Wardaddy is somewhere in between, a tough guy who still has a sense of perspective, such as when he reasons that Norman should be allowed to have some private time with a young German girl (Alicia von Rittberg) simply because they're "young and alive". All of the actors are excellent, adding telling details to their characters that deepen every scene. And the camaraderie between the five-man crew is remarkably authentic, as is their ease inside the cramped quarters of the tank, which makes submarine movies look spacious by comparison.

Brad Pitt: 'War Is Hell'

With the recent news that 'Fury' has topped the box-office over the course of it's opening weekend, Brad Pitt - the film's star - talks about what went into the creation of this hit film. In an interview with the BBC, Pitt explains how the film was never intended to act as a glorification of war. "War is hell," he says, while discussing the film's dramatic impact. In his own words, the film "was about the accumulative psychic trauma that every soldier carries to some extent."

Brad Pitt's wife, Angelina Jolie, is soon to release her own World War Two film, 'Unbroken'.

Brad Pitt stars as Sergeant Don "Wardaddy" Collier, alongside Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña and Jon Bernthal. According to 'Walking Dead' star, Jon Bernthal, "This movie is family drama. It's about a family travelling through hell in a metal box."

Even so, Pitt who produced and starred, took center stage during the film’s promo rounds.

Twitter Explodes Over Ryan Gosling's Baby News: Five Other Celebrity Crushes You Have No Chance With

Ryan Gosling Eva Mendes Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie Cara Delevingne Tom Hiddleston Taylor Swift

Hey girl, did you know that Ryan Gosling is about to be a dad? Neither did anyone else until this week, but when he and girlfriend Eva Mendes broke the news, the internet exploded with highly inappropriate amounts of “grief.” Well, it was mostly just Twitter. Well, mostly just overdramatic Gosling and Notebook fans. But in honor of these poor lovestruck souls (you can read some choice tweets below) we’ve compiled a list of five other people you are never going to date – no matter how much you’d like to.

Ryan Gosling
Gosling and Mendes got together in 2011, so he's technically been off the market for some time now.

Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. When asked to choose between this power couple, most people would be fine with either. Jolie is intelligent, charitable, worldly and stunning. Brad Pitt, even after his hey-day is… how do we put this delicately… hot, not to mention a creative and business-savvy force to be reckoned with. Fortunately for them, they seem to have found a good thing – lasting marriage, a whole litter of children and thriving careers to boot. Unfortunately for us, this means that both are off the market for good. The same largely applies to Beyonce and Jay Z, by the way.

Might Want To Look For A New Gig - Vitalii Sediuk Banned From Celebrity Events And Put On Probation For Brad Pitt Incident

Brad Pitt America Ferrera

Vitalii Sediuk, aka the Ukranian “prankster” who has made a career out of harassing celebrities, has had his day in court and – probably – his fifteen minutes. The “prankster” ran out on the red carpet at Wednesday’s Maleficent premiere and attempted to punch Brad Pitt, of all people. Earlier this month, he had attempted to dive under America Ferrera’s gown at Cannes. This is standard practice for Sediuk and has in fact led to his management dropping him.

Brad Pitt
To his credit, Brad Pitt recovered brilliantly from the incident.

As of Friday, however, he has even bigger worries. After he pleaded no contest to battery and unlawful activity charges, Sediuk was sentenced to three years of probation, one year of psychological counseling, ordered to stay 500 yards away from all celebrity events, and issued with a restraining order to keep away from Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Yes, that sounds about right.
