Bradley Cooper wants to have a ''traditional family home''.

The newly single 'Silver Linings Playbook' star - who split from his actress girlfriend Zoe Saldana before Christmas - has revealed he hopes to find long-lasting love like his parents and insists he is a true romantic.

The 38-year-old actor - who has just been nominated for a BAFA - told the MailOnline.com: ''I would say I am a romantic, for sure. I think most guys are deep down. I look at my parents, who have been married happily since 1963, and my grandparents are the same. What guy wouldn't want that?

''I think the thought of a traditional family home is awesome. Traditional roles are becoming a thing of the past, but I think there is something still really charming about them.''

Bradley had originally planned to ring in 2013 with the stunning 'Avator' actress but following their sudden breakup after more than a year of dating he opted to spend some quality time with his family in Philadelphia instead.

The actor also admitted that he has things in common with his 'The Hangover' character Phil Wenneck, saying: ''I think Phil is a romantic deep down. His bravado is that he wants the single guys lifestyle - but at the end of both movies he has just wanted to get home to his family. Lets be honest most guys want that.''
