Country star Brantley Gilbert has no plans to team up with his new fiancee Jana Kramer in the recording studio - because they are trying to avoid mixing business with pleasure.

The singer, who popped the question to the actress-turned-musician as he celebrated his 28th birthday on Sunday (20Jan13), admits the couple has shared a few songwriting sessions together, but that's as far as their professional collaborations will go - for now.

He tells Billboard.com, "We have written a couple of songs together, and they are really good, so that may be something we do in the future. But, not right now.

"She's doing her thing and I'm doing mine... (I) couldn't be more proud of her. We're both staying busy."

Gilbert recently filmed a guest appearance with fellow country artist Chris Young for U.S. Tv drama Nashville, and although he enjoyed the experience, he is unsure if he wants to swap industries with former One Tree Hill beauty Kramer.

He says, "My main focus is music - has been and will be. So, the acting thing - if a part strikes me, might be fun. I'd entertain the thought of it, it might be fun, but the focus is going to be on music."
