Diabetic rocker BRET MICHAELS has expressed his gratitude to fans after they sent him messages of support following his latest onstage health crisis last week (ends30May14).

The Poison frontman was just three songs into his gig in Manchester, New Hampshire on Thursday (29May14) when he was forced to cut the gig short and head back to his tour bus, where he received urgent medical treatment from paramedics.

He was taken to the local Catholic Medical Center, where doctors subsequently diagnosed him with a bout of influenza, dehydration and exhaustion, prompting him to cancel his Friday (30May14) show in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

He has been in recovery ever since, but on Tuesday (03Jun14) he reached out to fans via his website to update them on his wellbeing as he headed home to visit his two young daughters.

Alongside a photo of himself onboard a private jet, he wrote, "Apologies for the pale white face. It's the first day I've been able to fly to the kids. There is not enough thanks that I can send to the awesome fans, friends, family and medical staff for their help and well wishes. You all rock!"

Michaels is set to resume touring in St. Louis, Missouri on 13 June (14).

The 51 year old is no stranger to health setbacks - he required medical attention when he was struck in the head by a set piece while performing at the Tony Awards in 2009, and a year later (10) he suffered a brain haemorrhage.
