The celebrity voiceovers will urge commuters to make donations to war veterans charities ahead of the Remembrance Day commemorations next month (Nov15).

"We are proud to support The Royal British Legion's annual London Poppy Day appeal in honour of the 4,500 transport workers, and all others from across the country, who have given their lives in both World Wars and other conflicts," explains London's Transport Commissioner Mike Brown.

Other stars taking part in the scheme include Carry On veteran Barbara Windsor, comedienne Jo Brand, Dad's Army star Ian Lavender and actor Danny Dyer.

The event will mark the second time Danny has been heard in Tube announcements this year (15) as he previously took part in a similar scheme to promote the 30th anniversary of his soap opera EastEnders.

He loaned his voice to the public address system at Bromley-by-Bow station, which doubles as a fictional Tube stop in the show, in February (15).
