Collabro is a boy band with a particular interest in musical theatre and consists of 20-year-olds Richard Hadfield and Matt Pagan, 24-year-olds Michael Auger and Thomas Redgrave and Jamie Lambert, aged 23.

The group surprised the judges - Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden - when they appeared back in April. They announced they had been together merely a month before auditioning which prompted raised eyebrows and shaken heads from the judges. However, Collabro's performance of 'Stars' from Les Misérables impressed every one of the panel and received a huge applause from the awe-struck audiences.

The group performed their number again during the final and won over the judges and evidently the voting public. Cowell commented on their performance, saying "The first time I heard that song it was fantastic. This was even better. This was a step up. This was a performance where I could tell you wanted to stamp on this competition and win the competition, and I like people who want to be winners." Whilst Walliams, Dixon and Holden also chimed in with their high praise. Walliams said "It was wonderful. You couldn't fault it. It was perfection. I see really, really big things for you guys." Dixon claimed she "loved" their performance and that she could feel their passion for performance. Holden was less expressive but simply stated "It was another faultless performance."

Collabro won £250 000 and an opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance later this year. The group were overjoyed when they were told the news with 23-year-old Lambert gushing, "For everyone who voted, you're absolutely amazing. Judges - thank you so much." He continued by expressing his admiration for his fellow competitor, Lucy Kay, stating "And to Lucy as well, she's absolutely incredible."

Congratulations to Collabro and the other finalists on Britain's Got Talent.
