Britney Spears has been coy with the details for her upcoming and eagerly anTIcipated eighth album, Britney Jean, since she announced its release earlier this year. Britney Spears Is Back To The Ballads With 'Perfume' Release

Produced by Will.i.am and co-written by Spears and Sia, 'Perfume' sees the pop-superstar express "paranoid" feelings about her romantic interest. "Have you been thinking 'bout her or about me/And while I wait I put on my perfume, yeah I want it all over you/I gotta mark my territory," he sings.

Britney Spears Gets Personal On Latest Single 'Perfume' [Listen]

Britney Spears Will.i.am

Britney Spears has slowed the pace down dramatically for her next single, wiping the sweat from the rambunctious 'Work Bitch,' to make a much sweeter smelling second single. 'Perfume' is a much more delicate release, a hark back to some of her more successful ballads like 'Lucky,' and as the singer herself revealed recently, it is also a much more personal release than her raunchy first single.

"'Perfume' is incredibly special to me because it hits close to home, and I think the story is relatable to everyone," Spears said to E! News about her latest single. "Everyone's been through an insecure moment in a relationship that's left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that."

Britney Spears Songs Used As Defence Against Somali Pirates

Britney Spears

Britney Spears is one of the most popular female music stars in the world and has a global fan base, but that doesn't seem to include Somali pirates.

It has been revealed that Spear's songs are being used as a secret weapon to defend cargo ships against the threat of a hijacking by Somali pirates.

A merchant navy officer called Rachel Owens (34) told the Metro, "Oops I did it again" and "Baby One More Time" are the "most effective" in deterring the hijackers away.

Toxic! Britney Spears Songs Played To Ward Off Somali Pirates

Britney Spears Justin Bieber

In the battle against the ruthlessly violent pirates infesting the waters around the Horn of Africa, US crews have discovered a novel way to ward of any imminent attacks. Water pistols? Sharks? Sharks with water pistols?! Nope, it has been revealed that the navy's secret weapon when it comes to getting rid of pirates is a bit of all-American sugar pop, courtesy of Ms. Britney Spears.

She may have had hits including 'Toxic' and '(You Drive Me) Crazy' but Britney could have never imagined that her songs would finally be put to good use repelling pirates from large cargo ships. Apparently, the two favourites to play - or not, if you're a pirate - are 'Oops! I Did It Again' and 'Baby One More Time,' arguably Spears' most well-known tracks.

Britney Spears 'Britney Jean' Artwork Released, New Single 'Perfume' Announced

Britney Spears

Britney Spears has released the artwork for her highly anticipated eighth studio album Britney Jean. It's rather minimalist affair, showing Britney staring intently down the camera lens, while the title of the album is framed in a sort of neon love-heart. It's not the singer's best artwork, though it's certainly not her worst (remember Hit Me Baby One More Time?).

Houston Radio Hosts Angry At Britney Spears Over "Terrible" Interview

Britney Spears

Britney Spears, pop star extraordinaire, is getting flack from Houston radio hosts Roula & Ryan for a recent interview she did for their show. The interview itself has not been aired, but the hosts themselves made the rather extreme decision to tell the story on their show, which led them on a five-minute rant against the singer.

Britney Spears, Press Shot
The hosts claim Britney is far from professional, when it comes to interviews.

The host preface their story by explaining that they hate doing interviews when certain conditions are forced upon them and that Britney’s management limited the “safe” interview questions to just three topics. It doesn’t become all too clear what happened during the interview or what the original questions that the hosts came up with were. However, the hosts’ main complaint seems to be that Spears’ answers were not concise or thorough enough and that she seemed distracted during the chat.

Britney Spears Worried She Is Becoming Too Sexually Provocative?

Britney Spears

Britney Spears' latest video, for the new single 'Work B*tch,' features bull whips, S&M gear and numerous allusions to sexual mishappenings, and the singer claims that this over-the-top sexualisation of herself isn't being done with her full discretion. In fact, the singer has apparently grown fed up of this über-sexual image that the record industry is trying to impose on her, and she has said that her days in skimpy outfits are over.

Britney Spears Work Bitch
Outfit choices like this may soon be a thing of the past as far as Britney is concerned

The 31-year-old mother of two called into Boston radio station AMP 103.3 to talk on The TJ Show on Thursday (3 Oct.), when the conversation turned to her risqué new video. As the talk turned to the 'Work B*tch' video, Britney insisted that the overtly sexual themes in it had gotten out of hand, as she claimed that she was being pushed too far. Britney explained, "A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you’re dancing the whole video, and there’s like not that much sex stuff going on."

Britney Spears 2007 Breakdown: A Timeline Of The Darker Years And Her Eventual Climb Back To Stability

Britney Spears

The celebrity meltodown and comeback – in today’s fame-obsessed culture it is a well documented path, but no trainwreck has been as talked about as Britney Spears’ 2007 meltdown. Well, in truth, the meltdown started years before that, as is like to happen with former childstars facing the pressure of a life on camera. However, it was in 2007 that Ms Spears’ downward spiral reached its lowest point – and from where she began slowly, under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears, to rebuild her life and career. Today Britney is back on top with a spot on the X Factor judging panel and an upcoming residency in Las Vegas, but it wasn’t always so. Below is a timeline of Spears’ breakdown and eventual comeback – Amanda Bynes’ of the world, take note.

Britney Spears. The Smurfs 2 Premiere
With two beautiful sons and a thriving career, Spears is clearly out of the woods now.

January 2004 – The media began taking note of Britney’s erratic behavior, when she dropped the first bomb – marrying childhood friend Jason Alexander in a Vegas chapel. The couple had a quickie annulment 55 hours later. Still, it seems Britney has had a connection to Vegas for quite a while.

After months and months of erratic behavior, it looks like Amanda Bynes is finally getting the treatment she needs. The court decided to extend the former starlet’s 5150 psychiatric hold. Originally intended to last just s72-hours, the court extended Bynes’ stay in hospital to two weeks. The measure was reportedly taken, so that doctors would have enough time to observe and properly diagnose Bynes.

Jay-Z Ranks 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' His 4th Best Album: Agree?

Jay Z Beyonce Knowles Britney Spears

Jay-Z - easily one of the most inactive Twitter users on the planet given his level of fame - popped up on the micro-blogging website on Monday (July 8, 2013) to answer a handful of questions from fans. Hova sat around, probably on a throne or something, randomly responding to fans' questions for a few hours - and he actually offered up some interesting answers.

When one fan asked, "Do you think MCHG is your best work?" Jay-Z came back with a honest response, saying, "Hard to beat RD, BP1, TBA. It can fight for 4th #factsonly," referencing his 1996 debut Reasonable Doubt, 2001's The Blueprint and 2003's classic record The Black Album.

Another question concerned Jay's dear friend Notorious B.I.G and whether the pair would have collaborated if Biggy hadn't had been murdered. "Would BIG be on the #MCHG if he was here ?? Are you going for tears???? wow.oh, sorry, absolutely. BK stylem," said Jay.

Smurfs 2 Single 'Ooh La La' Was For The Kids Says Britney Spears

Britney Spears

Money, profile and fame weren’t behind Britney Spears recording a single for the upcoming animated Smurfs movie; she did it all for her kids who, according to the 31-year-old singer, are mad about the little blue characters.

“The main reason why I did it was because my boys [Sean Preston and Jayden]. They're obsessed with the Smurfs. We've seen The Smurfs movie a million trillion times, and they were told they could be in the video and all this cool stuff, so that's the reason why I did it,” she explained, before opening up on the song’s title.

“I think it doesn't really certainly mean a certain phrase or anything, but it's about feeling good,” she said. “Like you make me feel like 'ooh la la,' like when a guy makes you giddy…it's more of a feeling.” We’re sure her two sons will understand.

Beginning Of The End? One Direction Sign INDIVIDUAL Publishing Deals

One Direction Harry Styles Louis Tomlinson Niall Horan Zayn Malik Liam Payne Britney Spears Black Eyed Peas Foo Fighters Elvis Presley

Ah, we was wondering when this was going to happen. One Direction have added a couple more million to their bank accounts, though this time they're thinking for themselves. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne have signed SEPARATE publishing deals to cash in on all songs they have credits for writing.

It's a clear sign that the boys are beginning to look after their own interests following the phenomenal success of their first couple of years in the industry. The publishing deals are being overseen by Fingate, the company who also cash in on Elvis Presley's back catalogue as well as work by Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas and Foo Fighters

A source said: "This is a real statement of intent from the band. They have absolutely no intention of being spoon-fed pop puppets. They want to write and they want to earn as individuals." As well as the new deals, each of the five members have also invested in their own studio set-ups at home and have been attending writing sessions together after gigs. On their latest record Take Me Home, the band had three songs with individual writing credits while the others were penned by outsider songwriters. The group did not have a hand in writing the three biggest hits from the album, Live While We're Young, Kiss You and Little Things.

Ahead Of Vegas Shows, Britney Spears Debuts Her Stunning Figure In Shape Magazine

Britney Spears

Britney is gearing up for Vegas. After the announcement was made that the “Baby One More Time” singer would be headlining a series of shows at Vegas’s Planer Hollywood, Brit’s cover for Shape Magazine was released. The photo shows a tanned and toned Brit in a skimpy white Deja Soleil bikini, flaunting those curves (and some incredibly toned abs, are we certain she’s really had two children?)

The cover photo is captioned “Britney at her best: 31, firm and fabulous” and we can definitely see where the editor was coming from with that. Of course, Brit is probably under a contractual obligation of some kind to keep her body toned and ready for action, seeing as how rehearsals for her Vegas gigs will commence in September and the shows themselves – as soon as October.

"She's so inspiring to be in that great of shape after having two kids," says Deja Berkham, designer and owner of the line.

Khloe Kardashian Axed As X-Factor Host: Her Worst Moments [Videos]

Khloe Kardashian The X Factor USA Mario Lopez Simon Cowell Britney Spears

Well, that's it for Khloe Kardashian and The X-Factor. The Dark Lord himself Simon Cowell has decided that the reality star simply doesn't have what it takes to present live television and, as such, has given her the boot for season three. To make her feel worse, her co-host Mario Lopez has been welcomed back with open arms for the new season.

Kardashian came in for mockery during her hosting of the show, often being asked to read a teleprompter, which simply didn't work. As TMZ.com put it, it was a "total deer-in-the-headlights" experience watching her struggle through the shows." Fox didn't give a reason for axing Khloe, though said in a statement, "We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

It's a rare setback for the Kardashian family, who are often used to getting things their own way in the world of U.S. television. However, it appears Khloe's decision to go down the live television route was badly advised. Lopez on the other hand took to the X-Factor like a duck to water, though he has plenty of experience from his time on Extra.

Jamie Lynn Spears Gets Engaged 7 Weeks After Britney's Engagement Is Called Off

Jamie Lynn Spears Britney Spears

'He did good' were the sentiments of Jamie Lynn Spears when she exhibited the beautiful engagement ring that her now-fiancée, Jamie Watson, gave her on Twitter.

She announced the news of their engagement via the social media page yesterday (3rd March), the same medium by which the elder Spears, Britney, used to congratulate her. "So excited and happy for my sister, congrats @jamielynnspears - love you" she said.

In her own romantic life, Britney recently broke off her engagement to Jason Trawick, who had also been her manager, but has been seen out and about with a man who works in a law firm- but is not a lawyer. He took her out for sushi on Valentines day and has been teaching her golf. With a 'normal' guy and Jamie getting engaged it seems the last few troubled years for the Spears family may finally be coming to a close.

No Pictures Please! Steven Tyler Leads The Fight Against Paparazzi

Steven Tyler Britney Spears Avril Lavigne Tommy Lee Neil Diamond

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will attend a hearing in Hawaii on Friday (February 8, 2013) for discussions on a bill that would limit people's freedom to take photographs and videos of celebrities. Hawaii's Senate Judiciary Committee plans to consider the so called 'Steven Tyler Act' this morning - the first time in which lawmakers will discuss the bill publically.

A publicist for the former American Idol judge - one of the most recognizable men on the planet - told the Associated Press that Tyler has submitted written testimony supporting the proposal, which would allow celebrities to collect damages from someone who takes photographs in an offensive way. Tyler certainly has some big hitters on-side, including Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Neil Diamond, Tommy Lee and the Osbourne family. "Providing a remedy to the often-egregious acts of the paparazzi is a very notable incentive to purchase property or vacation on the islands," the stars say, "Not only would this help the local economy, but it would also help ensure the safety of the general public, which can be threatened by crowds of cameramen or dangerous high-speed car chases." The proposal is perhaps all the more relevant following the recent death of a photographer in Los Angeles who was attempting to snap pictures of Justin Bieber.

Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie says he supports the intent of the bill, though warns it may needed refining. Opponents simply say the bill could be unconstitutional.

Justin Timberlake Opens Up On Documentary And That Britney Spears 'Insult'

Justin Timberlake Britney Spears

The Timberlake Spears 'insult' has dominated all things Justin recently, so there's no wonder he had to clarify some things about an upcoming documentary on about the making of his new album, The 20/20 Experience - as no one's been listening!

Talking in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Kiss FM, Timberlake explained that the enigmatic footage released prior to his comeback, which acted as an announcement of sorts, is actually part of the film itself. "That little piece of footage is from a documentary that we sort of started working on throughout the making of the album, which started last June," he said. "It's more just a little excerpt from that, which I kinda thought about after I put it out. I was like, 'Oh, if people don't know about the documentary then this kind of seems a little weird.'" Timberlake also spoke about the reason for the album's title, saying "I was playing some of the stuff for my friends and they would come in and out of the studio, and I would say, 'Hey, what do you think of this?' My best friend said, 'This is music that you can see.' For some reason that stuck with me."

But before all this, Justin had to explain his comments at a Super Bowl party recently, where he said, "Sometimes in life, you think you found the one. But then one day you find out, that she is just some bitch!" before launching into Cry Me a River. Of course, given the song is about Britney Spears and the video even features a prominent blond, Timberlake denied that this was a dig at his ex, tweeting, "Ok. I see you. Wouldn't disrespect ANYONE personally. Ever. #Relax #ItsBritneyBitch I do love that saying though*with accent* #Respect"

Justin Timberlake Spears Insult Refuted By Singer

Justin Timberlake Britney Spears

Justin Timberlake has risked re-opening an argument with old flame Britney Spears, after fans misconstrued something he said whilst live on stage in New Orleans at the weekend (February 2.) However the star, who was playing his first full concert in five years, moved quickly to deny that his comments were about his old partner who he split up from back in 2002. So what exactly did he say?

According to Us Magazine, Timberlake was getting ready to perform his anthem ‘Cry Me A River’, a sing recorded and released right in the aftermath of that break-up. Introducing it, he told the packed out crowd "Sometimes in life, you think you found the one. But then one day you find out that she is just some b*tch." Oof, surely that was about Britney?

No, apparently. Twitter certainly got murmuring, but the 32 year-old quickly shut down any rumors that he was directing those comments at his former girlfriend. "OK. I see you. Wouldn't disrespect ANYONE personally. Ever," he tweeted. So who was he talking about? It seems like we’ll never know. Timberlake’s certainly looking to come back with a bang; he’s going to be visiting both sides of the Atlantic for awards shows, performing at the Grammys on February 10 before playing a huge show at the Hollywood Palladium on the same night. Then, on February 20, he’ll be performing at the BRITS in London; all this and new album The 20/20 Experience to come on March 20 too. Looks like JT’s making up for lost time.

Justin Timberlake Apologises For Branding Ex-Girlfriend Britney Spears A "B*tch" At Superbowl Performance

Justin Timberlake Britney Spears

Justin Timberlake's triumphant comeback had been nigh-on perfect, from the suspense-filled announcement of new music, to the exciting news that he'd be performing at a pre-game Superbowl Party last Saturday, as well as at the Grammys and the Brits. However, he almost tarnished it when fans thought he'd branded his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears a 'b*tch', which he has since apologised for, reports Yahoo.

His iconic break-up/heart-break 2002 song 'Cry Me a River' was allegedly written about Britney Spears after they broke up. To introduce his performance of it on Saturday he said, "Sometimes in life, you think you found the one. But then one day you find out, that she is just some b***h." Numerous members of the audience considered this an active attack on Britney. She notoriously cheated on him with choreographer Wade Robinson which lead to the break-up. However, since then they have both moved on. Britney Spears has been married, had two children, gone a little crazy, and is now back on the straight-and-narrow. JT had a continued enormously successful solo career and has since forged himself a decent acting career. Plus he married Jessica Biel year. Not bad going.

In response to all the criticism, he apologised via Twitter:

Britney Spears Bidding War May Make Her $100m Per Year

Britney Spears

Since Britney Spears quit the X Factor officially a couple of weeks ago, vowing to focus on her music, three different hotels in Las Vegas have jumped on the chance to capitalise upon her choice, wanting her to come to do a residency in their establishments. She is now embroiled in a 'bidding war', for whichever hotel wants to pay her the most.

According to TMZ, Britney could draw more than $100m per year, which is the price that Celine Dion was getting when she had her nightly show at Caesars. One rumour said that Britney had already signed with Ceasars, but apparently this is wrong and two other hotels are fighting for her face and voice to appear and perform at regular occurrences. According to the president and COO of the promotion and production company Justice Entertainment Group, Daren Libonati, Britney could bring in around $2m per week! "Deals such as this are based on scale," Libonati explained. "That's a very basic guess on what such a deal might look like. It could be even more."

Spears is only 31 and a wage like that is almost unheard of, but having started her career early, firstly at Disney and, later, carving herself an enormous solo career in music she's certainly earned it. And we thought $15m per series of the X Factor was big bucks.

Britney Spears' Sister Jamie Lynn, 21, To Marry Boyfriend?

Jamie Lynn Spears Britney Spears Jason Trawick

Britney Spears' relationship with Jason Trawick may well be on the rocks, though it seems her sister Jamie Lynn is ready to marry her businessman boyfriend Jamie Watson, who tells the New York Post's Page Six that the couple are seriously discussing tying the knot.

Jamie Lynn, 21, has been wearing a ring on her engagement finger for months, though Watson, 30, insists that he gave her the piece of jewellery for her birthday, not as a signal of his intentions. "I think promise rings are dumb. And Jamie Lynn doesn't care that much. She's not too picky," he said. Watson revealed that he and Spears have discussed the possibility of marriage though are still figuring out the finer details. The couple have had their fair share of breakups, though the groom-to-be insisted, "We've been back together for a while now."

Jamie Lynn, the younger sister of global superstar Britney, splits her time between Kentwood, Los Angeles, and Nashville, where he's trying to launch a country music career. "I asked her the other night what the hell is taking so long," Watson revealed of his girlfriend's new material, "but she's really particular about her stuff. She's trying to do it right because she knows people will be watching."

Britney Spears Swaps X-Factor For Vegas Residency

Britney Spears

It's been a few years of ups and downs for Britney Spears. Making music, head shaving, judging on X-Factor, court cases, drug scandals, the list goes on, and we'll let you decide which of those are ups and downs.

Perhaps, though, a down and an up and an up have never been so close in proximity, as the news that Britney quit her X-Factor post due to fears she was in for the sack, she's been offered a lucrative vacancy in Las Vegas, worth a reported $625,000 a night, NME reports. "This offer has been on the table for some time now and is something Britney has always wanted to do," a source told the paper. "However, she had commitments on the US X Factor and Jason, her manager, was reluctant to over-work her with a residency. Now she and Jason have split, her new team have put everything into fast-forward, and personal terms have been agreed. It's simply a matter of dotting the 'i's and crossing the 't's now."

Celine Dion and Elton John have both taken residencies in America's gambling hotspot, and even though Britney is currently number 1 in the U.K with her and will.i.am's single 'Scream and Shout', it might be time for her to wind down her career like so many stars before her. It seems like yesterday she was frolicking about in a school uniform.

Could The Bright Lights Of Las Vegas Be Calling Britney Spears?

Britney Spears Jason Trawick Celine Dion

In a bid to turn around her ill fortunes, Britney Spears will be taking on a Las Vegas residency expected to net her millions of dollars, according to a report from TMZ.

The gossip site had already reported that Spears recently split from her partner Jason Trawick (who also acted as co-conservator in her financial issues and was previously her agent). Spears also announced recently that she would not be returning to her role as a judge on X Factor, having completed her first season in the role.

A source close to Britney told TMZ that the Vegas show that she may have lined up will “eclipse” the kind of money that Celine Dion raked in with her show – and we’re talking $100 million per year for Celine, so the show’s promoters must truly believe that Britney can still get the cash registers ringing. “The deal is a go. There are several stipulations that could throw a monkey wrench in the deal, but it's basically done." The deal is being negotiated with the Caesar group – one of the biggest promoters on the strip and if it’s secured – providing that Britney can keep everything in order whilst the show’s on – will be a huge money-earner for the ‘Toxic’ singer.

After Year Long Engagement Britney Spears And Fiance Jason Trawick Have Decided To Break It Off

Britney Spears Jason Trawick

After a year-long engagement, Britney Spears has broken up with fiancé Jason Trawick.

The split reportedly came after a long rocky patch in the relationship, during which the pair grew increasingly distant from each other. Brit and her former agent Trawick announced their engagement in 2011 after nearly a year of dating and it looked like a solid affair for a while, but apparently the pressures of dealing with a career for Spears and the pressure of dealing with Spears’ life for Trawick, lead to the separation.

According to the Associated Press, last April Britney reportedly asked Trawick to become one of her co-conservators, essentially meaning that he would have to deal with her affairs for her. However, apparently the role was too fatherly for Trawick and it led to the couple’s relationship fizzling out and eventually turning into nothing more than a friendship. It looks as though at least the friendship will remain intact after the split, with Spears saying in a statement, released by her publicist: "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends." Trawick has also stated something along those same lines of his former fiancée: "I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever." So, even though this is the end of a relationship, it may turn out to be just the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Could Britney Spears Be Given Her Own Las Vegas Show?

Britney Spears

Newly single, and commitment-free since turning down a second series of The X Factor, Britney Spears has allegedly been given the opportunity to appear in her own Las Vegas show, and may be very close to signing a lucrative deal to set up camp in Sin City.

According to TMZ, Brit is currently in negotiations with one of the Caesar group properties in the city, who want to snatch up the pop princess to appear in her own nightly show. The deal on the table is apparently a very lucrative one at that, and would probably see her earn more than fellow Vegas mainstay Celine Dion, whose residency sees her fork in around $100 million a year.

According to the site, one of the main nagging issues over Britney's contract is that her exact role with the company has not yet been decided, as her commitment to the Vegas establishment could either see her simply performing on stage throughout the week or it could possibly be bigger than that and include appearances at functions in the hotels, nightclubs and pool day clubs owned by Caesar's Group.

Britney Spears Turns Down X Factor's $15m To Focus On Music

Britney Spears The X Factor

She made her name in music, and her role as a judge in The X Factor has been rather lack lustre, so intellectually heading back to music to focus on it full time seems a good idea for Britney Spears. Turning down the $15m paycheck though? That's madness.

TMZ reported that Britney's exit from her show was entirely her own choice, despite the numerous reports over the past month that X Factor bosses wanted to boot her. Her choice to focus on her music again is a good one, and will undoubtedly delight fans worldwide. She's currently appearing on a track with Will.i.Am 'Scream and Shout' which MTV reports is on the way to the top spot in the UK. Will.i.Am has also been helping out with her new album, as well as Kanye West/Jay Z's producer 'Hit Boy', which should ensure that Britney's new album is worth a listen.

Anyway, now that Britney's on her way, the real question is- who is going to replace her? The obvious choice might be someone across the pond: Cheryl Cole. She was tipped to be a judge originally before Simon Cowell canned her, but she might be the right choice to bring on board, given that she  has experience in the field already. In the dream world though, someone with deep knowledge of the industry and of talent itself might be worth having on screen, Celine Dion, Shania Twain or Debbie Harry could all be great. Particularly the latter.

Britney Spears Jumps From The X-Factor Ship Before She's Made To Walk The Plank

Britney Spears Simon Cowell

In the spirit of dignity, something that her actions over the past few years have lacked, Britney Spears quit The X-Factor amidst rumours that show-boss Simon Cowell was ready to wield his unyielding celebrity axe all over her neck.

Her $15million contract appeared to be in jeopardy after fans decided her slightly vacant style was boring, and when the rumours of her imminent sacking become too strong to ignore, Britney decided to quit. A source close to production explained to The Daily Mail: "Britney and her team knew it was unlikely she'd be asked back as a judge. The producers have already been making other plans for next season over the holidays. The reality is that toward the end of last season the main players knew they wanted to replace both Britney and LA Reid. LA Reid wasn't at the top of his game in second season and he knew that."

Another of Britney's criticisms was her frequent break taking, which occurred every few contestants, according to another source. "Most people didn't expect Britney to make it through the season as it's a demanding role but she did her best," explained the insider. It turns out, being an X-Factor judge isn't just turning up in your second dress. Who knew? Fellow judge L.A. Reid  - a long-standing judge - already announced his departure to focus on his record label.

Smoking Weed All Day? Will Justin Bieber’s Behaviour Ruin His Career?

Justin Bieber Selena Gomez Britney Spears

Is Justin Bieber getting too big for his boots? According to New York Daily News, Bieber’s behaviour is getting a bit too much to handle and is threatening to ruin that squeaky-clean image that they’ve all worked so hard to construct around him. “Justin doesn’t seem to care (that his career may be in jeopardy) and does whatever he wants,” an insider told NYDN’s Confidenti@l section and added “he doesn’t listen to anyone.”

Top of the list of Bieber’s behavioural crimes seems to be that he’s smoking weed all day and “orders everybody around.” It doesn’t help, it would seem, that he is surrounded by people who “say ‘yes’ to anything he wants.” All in all, it sounds like Bieber is finally being exposed a spoilt brat, after years of being portrayed as an angelic young role model – the kind of kid you’d be happy for your kids to bring home. Well, that illusion is well and truly starting to shatter and one source says “This could really damage his reputation if they don’t get it under control. Justin is someone young teens look up to and this kind of behavior can really hurt his career. Just look at what happened with Britney Spears.” What? he might shave his head and then be asked to judge X Factor?

Whether or not his behaviour has anything to do with his split from Selena Gomez is unclear but it looks as though those two are starting to patch things up now. Bieber’s reps at Def Jam have declined to comment on the rumours but young Justin will have to start playing ball if he wants his angelic image to remain intact.

Britney Split Rumors Surface: Is Her Relationship On The Rocks?

Britney Spears Jason Trawick

Britney Spears split rumors are in the news again, though could there be anything in the latest speculation? Rumors of a Britney Spears and Jason Trawick split have been lingering for months, though according to Hollyscoop, it looks like it's an actual possibility.

Jason is reportedly planning to leave the pop superstar, though not before The X Factor is over, because he and her whole family think Britney will take the news badly. Well, she's not exactly going to be jumping for joy now is she? A source close to the couple said, "Jason has told Britney's entire family that he's planning to leave her, so that Britney will have a support system when he breaks the bad news." The strangest part is that Jason reportedly wants to remain as Britney's manager after the break-up, meaning their relationship will become strictly business. It's almost certain that Britney will want Jason off the payroll after he dumps her, though he has reignited her career, so maybe she'll stick by him? Who knows. It all sounds pretty ridiculous to us, though we'll be keeping an ear to the ground over the coming days.

A second Britney source threw cold water on the whole thing, saying, "I haven't heard anything about [the split], but I do know they are going on vacation together for the holidays." Maybe he's treating her to a nice getaway before breaking the bad news?

Demi Lovato Speaks Out About Her Fellow X Factor Judges, Being A Role Model And Inspiring People

Demi Lovato Simon Cowell La Reid Britney Spears

X Factor judge and Disney darling Demi Lovato has given a candid chat to Parade Magazine into what life is like as a X Factor judge, dishing the details about some of her co-judges, as well as discussing her own battles with eating disorders and self harm and how she aspires to inspire as many people as possible.

With the season finale of the X Factor USA only days away (Dec. 20), the show's name is hot on most people's lips; enter Demi Lovato to keep us up to date with what's happening behind the scenes.

The young starlet told the magazine that her time on the show has been an emotional and stressful one, but still one that she has enjoyed nonetheless. Speaking about her co-judges, she had (almost) nothing but good things to say about them, telling the mag that she considers Britney Spears to be "sweet and humble," whilst L. A. Reid, who announced he is leaving the show at the end of the series, is "hilarious and smart." Bad news for the show's head judge and creator Simon Cowell though, as Demi was much less positive, calling him "annoying and old!" What a charmer (not that we doubt Simon wouldn't want it any other way).

LA Reid Calls It Quits On The X Factor

La Reid Simon Cowell Britney Spears Demi Lovato

The latest person to exit the ever-revolving door that leads to judging on a TV talent show is La Reid, who told bosses on the X Factor that he was done with the show, he told Access Hollywood Reporter.

The head of Epic Records has decided that his time in front of the camera is done as he is now more interested in nurturing the talents already at his disposal, as well as waning to sign a few more new artists now he has a little more spare time on his hands. In a statement given to Access Hollywood, the record executive said, “I have the utmost respect for [show creator] Simon Cowell. He is the very best, and I have had the opportunity to learn so much from working with him. Working with him on X Factor has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m honored to have sat on a panel with such incredible talent.”

Reid, who has sat beside Cowell since he exported the X Factor from Britain to the United States, said he will miss the show nonetheless, but he want to get back to his "core responsibility" of managing things at Epic.

X Factor USA: Thanksgiving Special Sees Beatrice Miller And Arin Ray Sent Home; CeCe Frye Survives For Another Week

Britney Spears Demi Lovato La Reid Simon Cowell

Thursday's festive Thanksgiving episode of The X Factor USA made this years Thanksgiving one to remember for two people in particular, as both Beatrice Miller and Arin Ray were sent home on this weeks episode, as the top ten acts were narrowed down to eight.

It was double trouble for Britney Sears this week too, with Miller and Ray both being under her tutelage. There was little Brit could do for them either, with the judge and mentor telling Ray to think of his time on the show as “a learning experience,” when he was made the first person to get given the heave-ho from the show.

That meant that there was still a final two to face elimination, with youngster Beatrice Miller squaring up with CeCe Frye. Frye performed her own rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s 'Because of You,' and sang it to perfection, which turned the heat right up on Miller, heat you could see getting to the 13-year-old. Performing Dido's 'White Flag', she delivered an equally impressive performance but alas, it just wan't meant to be. The judges cast their vote, Britney said CeCe, the rest chose Bea. We'd be very surprised if the youngster didn't end up finding fame at some point in her life though, she's got the talent, just not the time to work on it properly yet.

Britney Spears Wins At Court As Sam Lufti's Case Is Thrown Out

Britney Spears

After six days of testimonies, Sam Lufti didn't manage to prove his case against Britney Spears or her family, and as such couldn't convince the judge of his argument. The case has now been thrown out of court by the judge, who said "I really thought long and hard about this. It's the right thing to do", reports People.

Sam Lufti had been suing Britney Spears and her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears. Lufti claimed that Britney had never paid him for working as her manager in 2007, accused Jamie of punching him, and accused Lynne of defamation in her book 'Through the Storm'. Spears' attorney, Leon Gladstone said "We're delighted, we feel it's the right result." Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera said that he didnt have a case, and agreed with Spears' lawyers as they argued that Lufti had been unable to bring any solid evidence to court, according to TMZ.

Showing 'no emotion' on leaving the court, Lufti said that he would appeal the judge's decision. Meanwhile, Britney's life is as good as it's been for a long time, looks fit and toned while she judges on the American X-Factor, and currently engaged to Jason Trawick.

Britney Spears Case Continues- Ex-Nanny Says There Was NO Meth

Britney Spears LYNNE SPEARS

As the trial continues against the family of Britney Spears, having been sued by Sam Lufti, Britney's ex-nanny has testified and refutes Lufti's claims, telling TMZ that she never saw any meth in the house. Lufti is suing the spears for libel, defamation and physical assault by Britney's father, Jamie Spears.

TMZ spoke with the nanny, Leah Frand, who told them "I have never seen meth in that house or any type of drug." She even hinted towards the possibility that Lufti may have planted drugs in the home. Frand continued to be scathing about Lufti."I don't know what the hell he was doing [in her life] honestly" she said. "Being Britney's b**** basically and not getting paid for it." She also described him as a "low life loser".

As more people come to testify it looks as though Lufti's case is a house built on sand. He admitted in court, as reported by NY Daily News, that the contract he had for being Britney's 'manager' was unsigned by the young singer, and that he had never invoiced her lawyers for expenses or payment, nor that he fully understood the terminology of the very basic 'artist-management agreement' which he downloaded from the internet in 2007. As the case goes on, The Sun reports that Britney has been banned by her family from reading anything about the case and told to focus on the X-Factor, amid fears that she would regress to the distressed state she found herself in in 2007-8. The case continues.

Britney Spears' Father Laid The Smackdown On Sam Lutfi, Court Hears

Britney Spears

Britney Spears father chased her ex-manager Sam Lutfi around a kitchen before punching him and threatening his life, a Los Angeles court has heard. Mr Lutfi, who is suing Spears' parents for defamation, recalled the violent scene during his testimony this week, reports The Independent.

He denied accusations made in Britney's mother's book that he was a Svengali, locking the parents out of Britney's world during her notorious meltdown. "After the book came out, there was a huge spike of death threats that were pretty bad.People I know were shunning me. Websites were created to kill me. People wished I was dead. People wished my family..." Mr Lutfi explained, before breaking down in tears. He recalled fleeing Britney's home on one occasion after hearing that father Jamie was en route. Eventually, Mr Spears caught up with him, punching him. "Jamie came barging into the house. He lunged at me and chased me around the kitchen island. He was spitting, yelling, shouting at me, and said I had hurt his daughter and he was going to beat the hell out of me and I'd better get out of the house," said Lutfi. Jamie was reportedly escorted out by security guards though returned the following morning to punch Lutfi in the "solar plexus."

Britney's former manager is suing for damages and defamation and seeks a 15% share of the millions the singer made while he was her manager. Spears has been told by a judge not to attend or give evidence.

Why Won't Britney Spears Testify? Sam Lufti's Court Case Continues

Britney Spears LYNNE SPEARS

Britney Spears has been ordered not to participate in a court case against her.

Today, testimonies begin, in Sam Lufti’s case against Britney and her parents. Lufti is Spears’ former manager and is claiming damages from Britney for money that he claims is owed to him from the time that he represented her. He is also suing her mother – LYNNE SPEARS - for defamation (for claims made in her autobiography) and has stated that he was assaulted by Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears.

According to a report from Fox News, Lufti’s lawyers would not confirm whether or not he would be the first to testify in the case but one thing is clear: Britney will not be taking the stand. Britney is still under a court-ordered conservatorship and a judge has told her not to participate in the court proceedings. Does this suggest that Britney’s mental health is still not as stable as we have been led to believe? The ‘Toxic’ singer is currently enjoying a stint as an X Factor judge in the US and apart from a few blips at the start of the season’s filming, she seems to be holding it together pretty well. The fact that she won’t be taking the stand during the trial, though, suggests that all may not be as rosy as the Spears camp would like us to think.

Attorneys Reveal Battle For Life And Death During Britney Spears Trial

Britney Spears LYNNE SPEARS Justin Timberlake

The Britney Spears vs. Sam Lufti trial got even deeper yesterday when the attorney representing Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, told jurors that they feared for her life during her meltdown, describing it as "battle for life and death."

The court case began mid-last week and by Friday (Oct 19) the courtroom in Los Angeles had heard the grounds for both sides of the trial, with the entire Spears clan being brought to court by the singer’s former manager and confidant Sam Lufti. Lutfi is seeking damages first from Britney, on the grounds that she allegedly refused to pay him 15 percent of her earnings as her purported manager, despite a verbal agreement the pair had. He is also seeking damages from Jamie Spears for alleged battery, with Lufti claiming that Papa Spears hit him in the stomach back in 2008; and Britney’s mother, LYNNE SPEARS, for defaming him in her 2008 book, Through the Storm.

The first snippet to come from the case that turned heads was that the Spears defence case pinpointed her 2002 break-up with newlywed Justin Timberlake as the catalyst for her downward spiral into mental instability, culminating with her public breakdown in 2007. Now, it has been revealed that by 2007 and on ‘til 2008 when it looked as though Spears was on the road to stability, the Spears clan actually feared for their daughter’s life and believed that she would do something unforgiveable... or worse.

Britney Spears - Is Justin Timberlake To Blame For Britney's Meltdown?

Britney Spears Justin Timberlake Kevin Federline

The opening statements against the Britney Spears defamation case by her former manager Sam Lutfi were made yesterday (19 Oct) and in the Spears defence testimony there was one segment that was particularly damning of someone who was not at the case: Justin Timberlake.

In his court statement, an attorney for the Spears family pinpointed the break-up between Britney and Justin as the catalyst for her downwards spiral that eventually ended with the X Factor USA judge's very public breakdown. Lawyer Leon Gladstone contended with the court that after a "painful" break-up, things began to change noticeably with Britney, something that her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, both concurred with.

The testimony from the Spears camp went on to conclude that Lufti, who by the time of her break up with Kevin Federline was her closest confidant, was dictating her life as well as dictating the access paparazzi could get to the troubled star, concluding that it was Lufti's selfish behaviour and domineering attitude with the star's personal life that all but condemned her to collapse.

Britney Spears Head Shaving Motive Revealed: Drugs Cover Up!

Britney Spears

Remember when Britney Spears shaved her head in one of the more bizarre celebrity meltdowns of recent years? Well TMZ have learned that it was for a far more sinister reason than just mucking about.

Drugs! Drugs were why Britney lopped off her once blonde locks! Well at least that's what Sam Lutfi's lawyer is saying. You may be wondering at this point what the hell Sam Lufti's lawyer has to do with this, but it's out there. According to the aforementioned man of the law (Joseph Schleimer) Britney was a serious drug-abuser who had a particular taste for the very dangerous and often life destroying crystal meth (any Breaking Bad fans in the house?). Anyway, drugs stay in your hair for ages kids, and Spears was scared and paranoid that the judge would order a test so she cut it all off. Perhaps the fact she was so scared and paranoid should have tipped the judge off anyway, but who are we to judge? Britney's people are yet to respond, so this story remains firmly entrenched in the doldrums of rumour, for now.

Currently enjoying a renaissance, of sorts, Britney is a popular judge on the U.S X-Factor, which is still going strong despite constantly losing out to another British export, The Voice, in the ratings.

Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel To Get Married This Week?

Justin Timberlake Jessica Biel Britney Spears Cameron Diaz

Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel are to get married this week in Italy at a glamorous and star-studded ceremony, US Weekly reports.

Rumours had been rife about the upcoming nuptials of Timberlake and Biel, who sound more like a 70's crime fighting duo than a A-list couple, but they are an A-list couple and they're getting married soon so we'll shut up. The couple threw a casual pre-wedding party on Wednesday in Puglia, Italy, at the Cala Masciola beach on the Adriatic Sea, as you do. Guests included comedian Andy Samberg, who co-starred with Timberlake in an Emmy-winning "Saturday Night Live" digital short and the film "Friends With Benefits," a romantic comedy. This is the first wedding for singer-actor Timberlake, 31, since his high profile dating relationships with Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz didn't turn into wedding bells. And it's same for actress Biel, 30. They announced their engagement at the beginning of this year.

"Most celebrities do a wedding in their home country first, to make it official, and then they have a symbolic ceremony in Italy afterward, so they file no paperwork in Italy," Italian wedding specialist Diana Sorensen, owner of Sugokuii Events told E! "Personally, with Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, I do not feel they will have a legal ceremony in Italy. My feeling is that, like most celebrities, they've already done something in the United States."

Mario Lopez And Khloe Kardashian To Host X-Factor In November

Khloe Kardashian Mario Lopez Britney Spears Simon Cowell Demi Lovato

It’s official: Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will join Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell in November as hosts of Fox’s flagship singing talent show, reports The New York Daily News.

"The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out," Simon Cowell said in a statement. "Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier." Lopez, 39, has experience hosting “Extra,” and Kardashian is used to being in front of the camera from her E! reality series, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” They replace the Welsh presenter Steve Jones, who made his name in the U.K on Channel 4 hosting their youthful T4 franchise. “We have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloe is definitely up there in running,” Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres last month.

Kardashian proved to be a tough cookie when it came to negotiations. Talks with the star reached a tense point when an argument over her being on two networks at once arose. However, her determined nature made the deal happen, and she can now enjoy being part of the biggest talent show on TV (once it starts beating The Voice for ratings, that is).

Five Years After Meltdown, Britney Spears' Defamation Court Cases Begins

Britney Spears SAM LUTFI

It's safe to say Britney Spears has done pretty well to recover from the personal meltdown that threatened to derail her career some five years ago. We needn't go over the details of what happened, though it's worth reminding ourselves that since then, Britney's record 'Blackout' earned the finest reviews of her career, with commercial successes 'Circus' and 'Femme Fatale' following soon after. Not to mention her sold out tours and new spot on The X Factor USA.

But anyway, hanging over Britney since 2009 has been a lawsuit filed by her former manager and confidante SAM LUTFI. The suit - filed for libel, defamation, international infliction of emotional distress and breach of distress - finally goes to court in Los Angeles this week. The suit alleges that Britney's mother's book 'Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Fortune in a Tabloid World' is riddled with libellous statements about him, including that he drugged the superstar singer. Mr Lutfi is also suing for a portion of the profits from Spears' 2007 album 'Blackout' and the related earnings accumulated over that period. Civil litigation attorney Anahita Sedaghatfar told Fox News of the forthcoming court case, "It will be explosive for so many reasons. Britney's epic meltdown, in which the world witnessed her shaving her head and attacking the paparazzi with an umbrella, is once again going to be revisited. If Britney is indeed called, things could get very ugly fast."

Spears will take the stand for questioning in court, after which we'll bring you all the details!

Britney Spears' Fortune And Spending Habits Revealed

Britney Spears

With one of the most well-known back catalogues to grace the music industry this century, as well as an innumerable amount of TV and advertising appearances under her belt, it comes as no wonder to know that Britney Spears is worth quite a pretty penny. In fact, her full net worth and expenditure has been conveniently laid out for all to see thanks to E!, who have recently published an insight into the Spears economy online.

It turns out that Spears is now worth an estimate $32.4 million, with around $15 million of it on hand to spend at any time, with the rest tied up in assets including property and business ventures.

Luckily for the 'Lucky' singer, it looks like her worth is set to only increase as the figures posted online don't even take into account her reported $15m contract to star on The X Factor USA, nor do they include the massive windfall she is due to receive after her hugely successful tour that earned $68m.

Britney Spears Pays Tribute To Whitney Houston At Star Studded Event

Whitney Houston Britney Spears Halle Berry Usher Jennifer Hudson

The brand new X-Factor judge, Britney Spears, attended a 'solemn' emotional tribute to Whitney Houston entirely organised and funded by the Grammys entitled “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston” held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this week. The esteemed guests all chose to not broach the darker sides of Houston's later life, instead opting for a celebratory slant, praising her career and achievements.

There were numerous musical tributes in the show. Usher sang 'I Believe In You and Me' and Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams gave a duet of 'Count on me'. According to NY Daily News, Houston's family broke down in tears at the gospel singers' rendition of the song. Jennifer Hudson opted for more up-beat song choices and went for a medly of How Will I Know, I'm Every Woman and I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Celine Dion was also meant to be performing but unfortunately couldn't make it. She has, however, recorded her own version of 'Greatest Love of All' but it will be included on the hour long show which will be aired on CBS in November.

Spears said that she “admired Whitney” and that it was a cover of Houston's 'I Have Nothing' that ended up winning her a record deal. Halle Berry was another guest at the event whose speech was particularly moving. She spoke of Houston's impact upon women: “She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dream and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all... I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston."

Britney Spears Ad: Just Who Does Britney Think She Is?

Britney Spears Madonna Courtney Love

The Britney Spears ad for her latest perfume ‘Fantasy Twist’ has been released online. But just who does she think she is, exactly? Well, if the ad is anything to go by, she’s doing a pretty nifty job of looking like a whole host of other female stars.

One of the more obvious comparisons can be drawn with Madonna, but hey, there’s very little that a female pop star can do these days without being compared to Madonna, eh? Somewhat more surprisingly though, some of the ad’s scenes show the ‘Toxic’ singer parading up and down a hotel corridor in a peroxide bob wig, eyeliner all over the shop and a tiara perched atop her head. Remind you of anyone? Yup, Britney Spears the X Factor judge appears to be channelling her inner grunge-era Courtney Love. We’re not sure exactly why she’s employing that particular image to try and promote a lovely fresh new fragrance. After all, the grunge scene was hardly founded on principles of sweet-smelling cleanliness now, was it? Or perhaps her new perfume smells like teen spirit?

Elsewhere, Britney just found out, on the latest episode of X Factor USA, that she’ll be mentoring the ‘Teens’ category. “Are you serious? Oh my God! That is amazing,” she cooed, making out like it was the best news she’d had in her entire career. Perhaps it was…?

Pepsi Teams Up With One Direction For New Ad Campaign

One Direction Michael Jackson Alfonso Ribeiro Britney Spears Katy Perry Nicki Minaj Drew Brees

One Direction are the latest stars to link up with Pepsi, as the soft drinks company tries to boost its sales, reports The Herald Standard.

Go way back, and you’ll see Michael Jackson dancing alongside Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince) in an 80’s Pepsi advert. Come forward a bit, and Britney Spears, then the innocent schoolgirl, is selling soda. Now you can look forward to a Pepsi ad featuring British Boy-wonders, One Direction, and NFL star, Drew Brees, in a clip that sees them vie for a can of the fizzy pop. Brees also performs with the group as part of Pepsi's "Live for Now" campaign, which has also featured Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry. Pepsi have also tried to break the sporting market, with ad campaigns featuring the world’s biggest sporting stars, like Lionel Messi and Frank Lampard. In fact, they’ve upped media spending in the United States by more than 40 per cent during the second quarter compared with a year ago, after losing market share to soft drink-giants Coca-Cola Co. in recent years.

One Direction, whilst technically being losers from the X Factor, have become one of the world’s biggest boy bands. Their new album, Take Me Home, will be released on November 13th. Brees is the record-breaking quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

Krysten Colon Whips Up A Storm: X Factor Auditions Marred By Tantrum

The X Factor Whitney Houston Britney Spears Simon Cowell

Last night’s X Factor auditions were fraught with tension, when one young hopeful’s moment in the spotlight ended in a dramatic tantrum. 21 year-old Krysten Colon’s audition was beset with problems from the offset, despite her telling judges that she was confident she would convince them of her talent. However, as she trembled through her rendition of Adele’s ‘Don’t You Remember?’ she was cut short and Simon explained that he didn’t feel that her personality was shining through.

Krysten, who pronounced her surname ‘cologne’ as opposed to the way it looks as though it may be pronounced, was given a second chance but her take on Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ was marred by the sound of thunder outside the building, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her confidence still eluded her and she struggled to hit the notes in the challenging Whitney classic. Judge Britney Spears’ face said it all: she grimaced as Krysten struggled through the song. Then, in a stroke of perfect irony, lightning struck the building, causing some of the power to go and putting an abrupt and welcome end to the performance. “There was a reason that happened,” said Simon Cowell. The X Factor judges gave her four ‘no’s.

Krysten then stormed offstage in a flood of tears, which promptly gave way to anger. As a family member said to her “Krysten you said you weren’t going to do this,” she went on and very much did it… She shouted at the family members who had gone to support her and then threw water all over one of The X Factor cameras before running off into the storm, leaving her mum to apologize for her behavior.

Simon Cowell And Demi Lovato Enjoy War Of Words On Conan O'Brien Show

Demi Lovato Simon Cowell Conan O'Brien Britney Spears Dannii Minogue

The Demi Lovato X factor was there for all to see as the feisty young star came out the better of a verbal ding dong with her boss Simon Cowell on Conan O'Brien's chat show. The Sun reports that the duo were there to promote the new series of X Factor, which has just kicked off out in the States, and Lovato brought exactly the same outspoken energy that she's been displaying so far on the program to the chat show couch.

Joking to O'Brien, Lovato quipped "We're trying to reach a younger demographic, and I don't feel we're going to accomplish that when he's showing more cleavage than Britney [Spears] and I are." Cowell, who has recently seen revelations come out in public that suggested he'd told UK X Factor bosses to re-hire Dannii Minogue "for her t*ts", suggested that Lovato and third judge Britney Spears could show more cleavage. However, he was fought down by the 20 year-old who also joked that normally Simon "could braid his chest hair".

Lovato also called Cowell an "a**hole" during the broadcast and, feeling picked on, the beleaguered music mogul turned to O'Brien and pleaded: "Tell her to stop picking on me, please." There was no one on his side in front of the cameras though, with the talk show host replying sarcastically: "Don't pick on him! He's a kind man who's NEVER insulted anyone!" Poor Simon.

Britney Spears Learns Psy’S ‘Gangnam Style’ Routine

Britney Spears Ellen Degeneres Justin Bieber Carly Rae Jepsen

Britney Spears is certainly no stranger to a complex dance routine, though even the pop princess seemed a little confused by South Korean rapper Psy’s “invisible horse dance” on the Ellen Degeneres show this week.

The eccentric star’s video for ‘Gangnam Style’ recently went viral on YouTube, garnering over 147 million views. Psy dropped by Ellen’s show on Tuesday (September 11, 2012) to speak about the breakout hit and teach the accompanying dance routine, which the respected rapper explained was about dressing “classy” and dancing “cheesy”. Britney – also a guest on the show to promote The X Factor – looked bewildered when Psy initially appeared on-stage wearing a tuxedo and tennis shoes. DeGeneres’ excitement to learn the routine meant she failed to properly introduce Psy to Spears, leading the rapper to quite rightly interject, “Can I introduce myself, and not just dance? I'm Psy from Korea.” The rapper performed at the MTV Video Music Awards last week, and has already been snapped up by Scooter Braun – the mastermind behind a little fella named Justin Bieber. Psy will begin releasing material on Scooter’s Schoolboy Records label, home to fellow viral star Carly Rae Jepsen.

34-year-old Psy has actually released six records to date, including his wonderfully titled 2001 debut ‘Psy From the PSYcho World!”

Video - USA X Factor Judges Including Britney Spears And Demi Lovato Arrive At Fox Upfront Part 1

2012 USA X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato are photographed on arriving at the Fox Upfront Presentation at the Wollman Rink, New York City.

'Hit Me Baby One More Time' hitmaker Britney received mixed reactions when she signed a $15 million deal to become part of the X Factor panel. Many think Britney is an odd choice for such a role after her well-publicized breakdown in 2007 where she stayed in a drug rehabilitation center for less than a day before shaving all her hair off the next day. She lost custody of her children later that year

Crossroads Review

Terrible
Britney Spears, the young queen of pop, has hit a fork in her career. With several hit albums under her arm and millions of dollars in her pockets, I guess she figures the time is right to rediscover the acting talent she had as a child as a member of The All New Mickey Mouse Club. She is one of many recent female pop divas that have also tried, unsuccessfully, to cross the boundary from music to film. And if Britney is looking to reveal that hidden talent with her work in Crossroads, her feature film debut, she better look elsewhere.

Spears plays Lucy, the beautiful but brainy valedictorian of her graduating high school class in a small Georgia town. She can carry a tune, but her divorced dad (Dan Aykroyd, in a role we've seen from him too many times before) has decided she will not study music in college but will instead study to become a doctor. Because of her focus on studying, she has missed out on the high school experience and has lost touch with two close childhood friends. After graduation, the three girls put their differences aside and reinvent their friendship by digging up a time capsule they planted as kids. Ah, they have something in common after all: The desire to get out of their small down. Lucy, the all-American girl, wants to meet the mother who left her at age three; Kit (Zoe Saldana), the fashion queen, wants to see her fiancé at UCLA; Mimi (Taryn Manning), the expecting mother, wants to pursue a singing career. And Mimi's mysterious guitar-playing friend Ben (Anson Mount) agrees to take the girls on a road trip to California in his '73 Buick convertible.

Are Christina Aguilera And Britney Spears Feuding?

Christina Aguilera Britney Spears Kevin Federline

Music feuds can become one of the most interesting parts of the industry, although sometimes, they can be more than just a little bit harsh and/or nasty. Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have been pop-rivals for a while now, and with the upcoming birth of Spear's baby, Aguilera has taken the opportunity to slam any hopes of a musical comeback. Mainly because she believes that Spears "let herself go", and will no longer manage her 'sex-symbol' status.

Britney Spears' most recent album, 'In the Zone' was released on 18th November 2003.
Britney Spears' most recent album, 'In the Zone' was released on 18th November 2003.

Aguilera has expressed horror at the deterioration in Spears' appearance, in part due to her announcement that she's expecting her husband Kevin Federline's child, given in early 2005. Aguilera appears to have expressed hope that Spears will take to motherhood well and enjoy it, as she does not believe that a comeback would be worth the effort. Aguilera explained, without mixing words: "She's let herself go. I can't see a comeback on the cards."

Austin Powers In Goldmember Review

Weak

The cameo-driven, "Mission: Impossible 2"-spoofing, movie-within-a-movie, pre-title sequence of "Austin Powers in Goldmember" is the funniest five minutes to date in this spy comedy franchise. Then Mike Myers shows up and ruins everything.

Still trapped in a skit-comedy frame of mind all these years after leaving "Saturday Night Live," his short attention span has made the "Austin Powers" movies little more than a string of brief, loosely-related set pieces which are often 98 percent setup and 2 percent punch line.

Myers goes miles out of his way to make a reference to the 1983 song "Mr. Roboto" by the band Styx, for example. Then he spends nebulously unfunny gaps between such gags to make fleeting mentions of the plot, which in this case concerns Dr. Evil -- Myers cueball goofball homage to James Bond's maniacal bald nemesis Blofeld -- teaming up with an scabby Dutch roller-disco owner named Goldmember whom Evil has transported from the 1970s.
