Sir Bruce Forsyth is to make a one-off return to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for a special episode during ‘Children In Need’, which will feature the cast of fellow BBC family favourite ‘Call The Midwife’.

The fundraising evening of programming will see the 87 year old veteran reunited with his former ‘Strictly’ co-host Tess Daly, as stars such as Jenny Agutter, Laura Main, Jack Ashton and Stephen McGann compete for the Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy with professional partners Ian Waite, Joanne Clifton, Brendan Cole and Oti Mabuse.

Of course, there’s a cast member of ‘Call The Midwife’ currently competing in the main ‘Strictly’ competition this year, with Helen George impressing the judges with her moves, and the rest of the cast will be hoping to match her impressive performances.

As ever, the actors’ efforts will be scrutinised by regular judges Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell. Just because it’s for charity, don’t expect them to be holding back in their verdicts!

In October, Forsyth was forced to miss hosting a variety special held in his honour after he slipped and fell at his home. He was taken to hospital but quickly discharged, having suffered minor cuts and a concussion, and has made a quick enough recovery to fit back into his old slot on the BBC dancing contest.

“I lost my balance a bit and didn't know where I was,” he said about the accident a few days later. “Then I reached out for a chair which fell over and then I hit my head. I had a bit of a gash here and some bruising here but I'm fine now.”

Other special segments of ‘Children In Need’, which is on BBC One on Friday (November 13th) at 7:30pm, see the return of Shane Richie to ‘EastEnders’ and a Star Wars special sketch featuring the likes of One Direction and Ellie Goulding.
