Aaron Paul On Jesse Pinkman And The Moment He Thought His Career Was Over

Aaron Paul Bryan Cranston

Having landed the role of a lifetime as Jesse Pinkman – Breaking Bad’s lovable surrogate child to Bryan Cranston’s Walter White – a summer aged 27 could have seen the end of his acting career.

Aaron Paul

Packing up his car for the 800-odd drive to L.A from Idaho, Paul was embarking on a journey he could never forsee, kicking off with his first big role: Amanda Seyfried’s boyfriend in HBO’s Big Love. That earned him around $600. His parents had to fit the bill for his rent, three months in a row. Luckily, his relationship with his mother and father was better than Jesse’s with his.

A Look At TV's Biggest Shows On Twitter, According To Nielsen

An awesome thing about television is that social media exists. You can watch people freak out over the latest death in a show and share your pain with others when the season is finally over. An awful thing about television is that social media exists. You can watch people freak out over the latest death in a show that you haven’t caught up on, spoiling it for you, and share your hatred with others when they just tweeted about the cliffhanger to a finale that you’re currently DVRing because you’re stuck at your girlfriend’s family party.

Clearly, I’m still bitter about that. Anyway, point is that, like it or not, Twitter has been monumental when it comes to television, and it’s hardly just an accessory. Would ‘Breaking Bad’ be as huge as it was without the constant word of mouth on Twitter? ‘Breaking Bad’ happens to be this television season’s most talked about show on the social networking site, as reported by Nielsen.

Aaron Paul Ranks 'Breaking Bad' Up There With The Very Best Of All Time

TV’s history is dominated by a few key moments, and not many are bigger than the introduction of the slow-burning, multi season American drama, exploring themes of loneliness, economic deprivation, crime corruption and, above all, family. The Sopranos paved the way, and, alongside shows like The Wire, Mad Men, The West Wing and Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad sits amidst that pantheon.

Should Legendary And Warner Bros. Make A Godzilla Sequel? [Poll]

Bryan Cranston Gareth Edwards Aaron Johnson

Godzilla has barley finished trampling America’s box offices and the gargantuan daikaiju is still to wreak havoc over in China and Japan – a huge market, especially given the origins of the franchise. But Warner Bros. and Legendary are already thinking about what a sequel could do, and they obviously think it could do plenty as one is in the works.

Godzilla

Gareth Edwards’ effort, which sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanbe, Juliette Binoche and Bryan Cranston head a stellar cast, has already made $200m worldwide making it 2014’s biggest opener so far. Sure, ‘X-Men Days of Future Past’ and ‘Transformers: Extinction’ will likely ensure ‘Godzilla’ doesn’t finish the year with that mantle, but it’s an encouraging start for a film that was, for a while mentioned with apprehension.
