Bryan Ferry's son is "now stable" and faces "a long period of recovery" following a car crash last month (Dec14).
The British singer's youngest son Merlin was admitted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the accident on 22 December (14).
Merlin, who had to be cut free from the wrecked vehicle, was said to be in a critical condition as he underwent surgery for a head injury and multiple fractures, but a spokesperson for Ferry has now assured fans the 24 year old is no longer in danger.
A message posted on Facebook.com post reads, "On behalf of Bf (Bryan) and the family, many thanks for all the kind messages of support for Merlin following his road accident before Christmas... Merlin has undergone a series of operations and is now stable in hospital, with a long period of recovery ahead of him.
"A huge thank you to the amazing emergency services provided by the Wellington Fire Service and West Midland Ambulance Service, together with the superb care and attention from all the medical staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham."
