Caitlyn Jenner will make an appearance in the third season of 'Transparent', writer Jill Soloway confirmed during the GLAAD Awards on Saturday evening. The acclaimed Amazon Prime series tells the story of the Pfefferman family, after father Maura (played by Jeffrey Tambor) begins the transition from male to female.

Speaking at the GLAAD Awards, show creator Jill Soloway said: "We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, 'I am Cait’, Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.”

The new series will begin shooting next week and is due to be available for streaming later this year, at Saturday night’s awards the show was named Best Comedy Series. Soloway based the series on her own father, who came out as transgender around four years ago.

Last year Soloway revealed that Kim Kardashian had told her she watched ‘Transparent’ together with Caitlyn to help come to terms with and understand her transition.

"I actually had great conversations with Caitlyn and with Kim, awesome little moments where Kim told me that the family watched the show together,” Soloway told US Weekly. “Caitlyn told me that she loved it."

At the time the writer said there was open invitation for Caitlyn to visit the set, and even appear in an episode. "I don't know if she would even want to act, but we definitely want to incorporate the fact that she came out into this season," she added. "Just to have that be part of a conversation somewhere in a scene, for sure."
