Two workers have been injured during the set-up of the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, due to take place this weekend. The festival, which is enjoying a 15 year anniversary this year and boasts the “World’s best DJs,” including Carl Cox, Calvin Harris and Richie Hawtin has been hampered by the news that an LED screen fell and injured two workers during set-up time.

In a statement, the festival’s organisers confirmed “Today (Thursday, March 14) as preparations were being made for this weekend’s Ultra Music Festival, a section of an LED screen fell and injured two workers. Fire Rescue was on site so there was a rapid response. Festival organizers are working with, and supporting, authorities as they investigate the details behind the accident.” Associated Press have reported that a third worker also received minor injuries as a result of the incident. The festival area was not yet open to ticketholders when the incident occurred.

The Ultra Music Festival is due to start today (Friday March 15, 2013) and tickets have almost sold out, according to the festival’s website. The festival in Miami will take place over two weekends, the first being this weekend and the second taking place next weekend (March 22-24, 2013). As well as a Miami event, the Ultra Music Festival has also branched out to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Korea and Ibiza and will be expanding into Croatia, this year as well.
